During the year, my favorite module was one of which I took in the second-semester called Creative Writing. This module doesn't have a lecture, instead, every class was a seminar group for around ten students. Our seminar professor Andrew Eaton was really nice and patient. The module requires students to write something every week, which is what I often and like to do. During the semester, each student has to hand in a piece of work for the workshop that happened in the class. Our work will be discussed anonymously to make sure every advice was neutral and without any personal feelings about the author. I wrote plenty of poems during this year and received some of the greatest advice I ever had. This module was scored not by test nor essays, but to hand in our creative writing works for midterm and final, the professor will give us marks by how our work developed and what we explain through our critical review to our own works. However, this module was not for those want to improve their essay writing skills, if anyone wants to learn more about those, they will be disappointed. The point of this module was not about how to write a better essay, but to know how to improve our creative writing works and to share and receive advice to each other. Mr. Eaton was my favorite teacher I met this year. He was not the funniest but absolutely the kindest one. He used gender friendly terms during the classes, and he was not hastated to tell us if he liked a work or not and why. Besides, he would ask you if he doesn't understand the meaning behind your works. I think this was really great since I'm so done with teachers that pretend to know what you're trying to say.(306字)

Oxford is not a big city. Most of our free times was shopping in the city center for food or just strolling around, watching students of the University of Oxford walking by. It was really convenient to buy food in Oxford, even materials for eastern dishes. There are two Chinese and one Korean market near the Headington Campus. Everythings was not cheap but we did save a lot of money by cooking by ourselves. (And that's why I got so angry when I realized my food was stolen by my flatmate.) The buildings on campus are really beautiful, some of them were the old buildings that were built hundred years ago while others are designed by teachers and students from our architectural design school and built in recent years. There is a park near our school, and so our campus is surrounded by trees and all the greens. Birds and other animals like squirrels and even deer can be seen around. The weather was much cooler than Taiwan, obviously. We still have snow in March this year, and everything was covered in silver white snow. But in spring, when the sun comes out, everyone abandons the indoor cafeteria and moved to anywhere that can stay in the sunshine. As for the dormitory, I would say that I didn't choose the best one. Cheney Student Village was not a good place for those need silence to sleep at nights. Students have parties every night till 3 a.m, and never concern other's sleeping qualities. (252字)

Difficulties. Well, I have to say there were plenty of this during the year. The racist problem was not that obvious in Oxford, but I still felt the unfriendliness from some of the shopkeepers or bus drivers. Most people were nice, I think this is same as anywhere else in the world: there are both nice and not so nice people around us. The biggest problem I had was because of my social phobia, I am afraid of talking to people or even look at someone when they're talking to me. I can't make myself step out of my room and hanging out with classmates. So I didn't make any new friends this year, which I think was really a shame. This lead to the problem that I actually don't know much about my flatmates, I didn't talk to them more than "Hi." and "Good night.". So, when problems came, I don't know how to talk to them as well. The girl next to me are playing loud music every day no matter what time it is and having parties late in nights. My food was stolen more than once and didn't get better even when I wrote notes to ask them to stop doing this. Kitchenwares are constantly being used or even broke without asking and apologized. I guessed I just don't have the luck to have good flatmates. I also had huge problems with my module selecting at the beginning of the first semester. The assistant didn't give me the right information and made me not able to have the modules I want. I gave up to have those tourism-related modules and turn to those I'm interested in.(280字)

For those who are in ITM department and want to come to this school for the junior year, I have to say, think twice, and make sure that you will not be so disappointed if you can take none of the modules you wished. The tourism related modules in this school are mostly for those regular students who major in tourism management. For example, the event management module was really famous in this university and was one of my goal modules to take, but the school refused to let me have it because I'm not a regular student. Make sure that you have something else that you want to learn or you'll live in pain and struggle. They take essays really seriously in the UK, and the marks are not beautiful. So if you take the module you're not interested in and fail it, you wast a year. I didn't because I have learned things and different perspectives that can't be heard in Taiwan. And I strongly recommend the World Literature module if you are interested in its name. It was a great experience to hear how your classmates and teacher think about the world and literature works you are familiar with. Don't worry about the weather. It's cold in the winter but it's beautiful. Once you start to feel that over 10℃ is warm and consider it a good day, you made it. Learn how to cook before you fly is really important. I spent £25 a week on buying food materials but eating out can cost you a least £10 a meal. Don't think too much if you have difficulties, things will pass and you'll find out how great Oxford is.(280字)
