2018大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

University of Sunderland is the place where I go for study abroad. Which is in Sunderland in UK. If you really want to study in Uk, you better be ready to be broke and don't have enough money to eat. The education style in UK is very different from Taiwan, the teacher will not force you to study. However, you have to learn active and be passion in learning knowledge. (70字)

(二)課程學習

Well, we cannot use a cellphone during the class. That’s why I just post the classroom view of the University of Sunderland. Talking about my favorite class, it must be the EAP106 and 107. The class is very similar to the writing and reading class in Lanyang University. And the main reason I love the class is because it really make me more confidence to speak English in UK. You may think it is not a big deal to speak in English overseas. However, I found that I really can’t speak proper English in UK. I feel very anxiety to speak English outside. But after I take the EAP106 and 107, I feel better speaking to others. At the beginning, I am terrified to talk to my classmate and teacher in the class. Yet, I always worried about my grammar and accent. And I totally became a dumb in the class. I really want to share my ideas and thoughts with my classmates and teacher. Sadly, they must think I am just a stupid Asian student don’t know what is going on now. After that, I share this situation to my EAP teacher, she encourage me not to give up speaking English. She said many international students were facing the same situation in every year. It became the main reason that they skip the class more often. Because they didn’t face the music that they don’t pay effort to change their attitude, they still can’t speak in the class. Though I really did skip some classes in UK, I never skip EAP106 and 107. The teacher is very friendly and patient and she always has a harmony smile on her face. In her class, I learn the proper Grammar and the confidence to speak English. That’s why I love the class so much.(307字)

(三)生活環境

Talking about my life in UK, I didn’t live in the school dormitory but found the living place outside. The place where I live is quite nice. Walking to the transportation is about three minutes and the shopping mall is as well. Moreover, it takes you only 15 minutes to walk to the University of Sunderland (If your legs are long and walks very fast). What’s more, there are two Chinese food stores near my living place. That is to say, once I miss the foods in Taiwan, I can just go there to get the ingredients home and cook Taiwanese cuisines for myself. However, the price isn’t cheap though. But you can still found many items that came from Taiwan, I really enjoy shopping in the Chinese foods stores. After talking all the good things, now I am going to talk about the cruel disadvantages in Sunderland. The most unacceptable thing for me is that, all the stores will be closed before five in the night. After that, if you don’t have any food in the house, you will be hungry to death till morning. Secondly, the effectiveness in UK is extremely slow. When you are shopping online, usually you will get your products almost one month later. I start to imagine the situation in Taiwan, I think the customer will be pissed off and yelled,’’ Bring your manager out!’’ By the way, if you are scared of birds, you will totally crazy living in Sunderland. Sadly, the truth is there are COUNTLESS seagulls living here. I often wake up by these seagulls in the early morning. I don’t hate birds. But now I have to say, I hate the seagulls so so much. (四)自我成長

When I first having a class in UK I really can’t understand what the teacher and students are talking about. Not only the accent is hard to be recognized but also the speed they spoke are extremely fast. So I just stay silent and heard what the students share their thoughts. At that time, I really want to join the class conversation; Sadly, I am so scared that I will say something wrong or stupid. Eventually, I didn’t speak a word in the whole class. This really making me frustrated and lose confidence. After the class, I share my situation with my friend in Poland. She encouraged me not to give up and said I have done my best. I was very happy that my friend said these to me. Thus, I decided to talk to the teacher about my difficulties after the class. At the beginning, I was so afraid that the teacher will be very strict to me. Surprisingly, the teacher was very glad that I came to find him and said I am a very good student. Then, I felt happy and talked about my problems in class. After all these things, now I can speak in the class. Feeling nervous and saying wrong grammar for sure. However, I am dared to share my thoughts in the class and join the discussion with classmates. This make me think again, in TamKang University, we also study and taking the test in English. But, how many of us can ‘’speak’’ proper English in class? We can get good grades on tests. However, I think speaking is the most essential basis in learning language. Or why God give every human being a mouth?(285字)

(五)大三出國建議

Living and studying in different country is never an easy thing. Not only have to get used to the lifestyle but also the people around you. Filled with determination is significant and most important of all is you have to know what you want. But not wastes hall year play in your country. However, this is not to say you have stay at your house and study all day long. Having a vacation to other place or country around you is also a good way to learn new things. Gaining different experience in different country make you more calm and keep rational. In the first months getting in your country, you may be frustrated that everything is just so wrong for you. Language, foods, weather, environment and the learning style in class make you stared to think what the reason is to study abroad. On the other hand, your parents are happy that you have a chance to study in other country. You don’t want to let them worried and be disappointed so you tell them you are all aright here. However, you are very depressed and want to go back to Taiwan immediately. Thus, I would like to say it is quite vital to have friends or someone you can talk to in your country. Having a good mood make you feel better to stay in your country longer. So stay calm and filled with determination is essential when you study abroad. Or you are just wasting your time and your parents’ money overseas.(256字)
