It's actually really hard for me to choose one course I like the most because all the courses I've taken during my exchange year were pretty interesting. I love Social Perspectives in Education this course, which I have taken in term1. Since I found myself quite interested in teaching and have passion in education, I decided to take this course. In almost every course in Australia, we have lectures and tutorials both in each week. During the lectures, teacher will talk about one topic related to Social Perspectives in Education, for instance, race, class, gender and so on. My teacher was quite nice and friendly, who always smile to us. Her thought is very clear and she has strong communication skills. She always asks us to discuss with people sitting around and share your own opinion with other people, which give us a great opportunity to know more knowledge and feel different culture. She used many YouTube videos to explain the topic and also lots of resources outside the textbook that make the class quite vivid and interesting. She also organized some activities during the class and opened a common web page for everyone to answer and participate, which give me a quite strong feeling that everyone is involved in the class, sometimes I am very excited about that and I love her teaching style very much. We need to write two essays for this course and we have to do lots of researches for resources and read a lot of articles. Through this, we can not only improve our writing ability, but also let us understand the learning mode of Australian high schools. As for the tutorials, my tutor is a very humorous man. For the most of the time, he ask us to discuss in groups that beneficial for us to learn more stuff from other people and also helpful to make friends with each other. I've met a lot of great people in this course and they are really good to me. It was a wonderful experience to learn education courses in UNSW and I really appreciate that. The Australia education system encourages students to express their views in class. We are trained to think critically, learn carefully, and talk bravely. Professors and tutors are truly respect your thinking and give you lots of space to develop, and also asked for our feedback regarding to their teaching so that they could adjust the ways they teach to meet the students’ demands. I really appreciate their attitude of respecting everyone's opinions. I really feel free without so many restrictions and rules and dare to express my opinions in Australia. I love and enjoy that feeling very much.(449字)

【照片說明:UNSW main library in upper campus】

The main campus of the University is located in Kensington, Sydney. It is close to the city business district, railway station, airport and seashore. It has a good geographical location and convenient transportation. UNSW is a really beautiful school, the buildings are modern and pretty also with new school facilities and classrooms. The whole campus is divided into two parts: lower campus and upper campus. Sometimes if one of your classes is in lower campus and the other is in upper campus, you will be a little bit tired because you need to climb many stairs. The main library is located in upper campus and there are two big food courts in upper campus and lower campus respectively. There are many great cafes on campus where you can buy coffee, snacks and drinks. I love to sit on the lawn and chat with my friends, which always is a relaxing and enjoyable time. There are lots of supermarkets and Asian restaurants outside the campus as well, so it’s really convenient for students to live around. I live in an apartment, which is off-campus, but the neighborhood has everything I need. There’s pharmacy nearby, and a lot of grocery stores and restaurants, so it’s quite convenient for me to live there. There is a gym just across from my apartment. It's only eight minutes walk to railway station. However, the area where I live is far from university that takes me one hour to get to school. I need to take train first and then take bus. The weather in Sydney is pretty good with bright sunshine everyday and it is dry during the winter. The natural scenery of Sydney is very beautiful, the longer I live in this city, the more I love it. (297字)

Everything is tough at first. To be honest, I was not happy and under much pressure during my first semester in UNSW, but the second semester was quite better. I still remember the first two weeks when I arrived UNSW, I didn't know anyone at school and often felt lonely and sad. What’s more, I took a finance course in my first semester, which was a completely new field for me and totally different from my major. I didn't have any basis so I felt it was so difficult for me to learn that course. I couldn’t keep up and really suffered. Later, I met a friend who studied finance. I often asked her questions. With her help, I slowly overcame the difficulties of learning this course. I truly realized the importance of making friends and helping each other when I was in Australia. So I took the initiative to know more people, make more friends and communicate with others afterwards. Fortunately, most of the people I met were friendly and warmhearted. When I'm stressed, I will listen to music and do sports, which is a good way for me to relieve stress. If I'm free, I'll go out with my friends and have dinner with them. Talking to friends who understand you, support you and will help you find a solution to what you're facing is a good way to overcome difficulties because they can give you encouragement and strength. It is really important to keep a positive attitude all the time and feel that what you are doing is worthwhile. Constantly remind yourself that no matter how hard it gets, everything will be alright. I haven't experienced any obvious cultural shock in Sydney and people here are so nice and friendly to me unlike what people said that Australians might discriminate Asians. There are a lot of immigrants and international students in Australia. I really appreciate Australia's respect for people from different cultures. I love the atmosphere of internationalization and freedom here very much. (338字)

Studying abroad is very valuable that can broaden your horizons and enrich your experience. You may meet many excellent people and learn a lot from them. Through studying abroad, I know more clearly what I want in the future, what kind of life I want to live, and I will try to create it. It promotes me to think more about the direction of future development and set goals for myself. I have several suggestions for students who want to study in UNSW. First of all, if your credits are enough that you don't have to worry about if you'll be able to graduate on time, then take the courses you like instead of thinking if the course could transfer credits in Taiwan. Secondly, as we all know, UNSW is a very good school with high academic requirements. If you want to study in UNSW, you should get yourself ready to study hard because you will get a little bit more assignments and they are not easy. If you don't study hard, you're likely to fail. Keep a positive attitude and always tell yourself that all your efforts are worthwhile. Thirdly, you need to develop and improve your independence, the ability to arrange things for yourself and the ability to deal with difficulties, which are really important for studying abroad. Be open minded and don't be afraid to talk to people, most people are really nice and if you have any problems they're willing to help you out. Ask more, think more and learn more. Don't close yourself up, go out and associate with others and make friends. In addition, I strongly recommend students to go travel and explore different places, experience the local cultural life more. Feeling different cultures and activities can enrich your mind. I am a person who really love traveling and Australia is a very beautiful country with fantastic natural scenery and many interesting places. I pretty love the view of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, which is amazing. Melbourne is a beautiful city as well with a good cultural atmosphere, in which people and nature live in harmony. There are many art exhibitions, graffiti wall and church there. Finally, you will meet all kinds of people in foreign countries. You must know what you want and then try your best to pursue it firmly and make everyday counts. You should not blindly follow others or even learn to do things that are not good for your body and mind, such as taking drugs, soaking in bars and so on. Keep a grateful heart, learn to be satisfied and thankful. Appreciate what you have with gratitude. (441字)
