(二)課程學習

Favorite class：International system of environment protection（Prof. Agata Ziętek） I was interested in environmental issues, this is a reason why I chose this class. I only know about some topics like climate change and environmental pollution, some roughly concept, but I want to know more clearly through this lesson. And I did learn more detail about the environmental issues, such as air pollution, water pollution, which are most close to life. These issues are worthy of attention and even change. Coincidentally, COP24（2018 United Nations Climate Change Conference）is hold on Katowice, a small town in southern Poland. We also mention about COP24 in the lesson, not really detail cause that time COP24 just start. That is very satire, the current massive carbon reduction challenge in the world is to quit coal, however Katowice is a large coal center, it has several coal mines organized into unions—Katowice Coal Holding company. Because COP24 is held in Poland, I also pay special attention to News. COP24 in Katowice ended in not real success. It just figure out The Paris Agreement rulebook, however the more sensitive carbon emission trading, "Loss and Damage" issues will be left to COP25 next year. I think I will continue to pay attention to COP. In addition, I also participated in the Polish course. This is a free language course offered by UMCS for foreign students. I think this course is a bit difficult for the Taiwanese. The pronunciation of Polish is hard for us to pronounce, or we pronounce but it is not completely correct. I still think this is a necessary course, because Polish people (in Lublin) don't speak English well. At least to learn some basic sentence for daily greetings or supermarket shopping, using Polish greetings will also be more polite and friendly.(300字)

(三)生活環境

When I arrived, I really felt that the UMCS campus was really big. But unlike my imaginary, the campus is not concentrated in same area, it is scattered in Lublin. For example, the students of the faculty of Economics, they just need to walk about ten minutes from the dormitory to faculty. And my faculty （political science）was close to the old town of Lublin, I need to walk 25 minutes from the dormitory to faculty of Political science. There are many buildings for the school dormitory. I live in Femina at the beginning of F. Dormitory arrangement starts from A. The room is divided into two rooms, A and B. One room can live two people. There have a toilet, a bathroom and a kitchen. The room is very clean and the equipment is very complete. The dormitory fee conversion to Taiwanese currency is about three or four thousand a month. I personally think that it is a good dormitory. The disadvantage is that the dormitory administrators their english are poor. When we have problems, sometimes we have poor communication. At this time, we can only use body language, or we need to seek help from our mentors. It doesn't snow in Taiwan, so I look forward to see snow in winter and I think that would be pretty and wonderful. When I first time see snowing in poland, I am very exciting. However, after snowing everyday and the snow lay thick on the ground, it's very difficult and inconvenient to walk on street. We already wear snow boot, it still need to be careful to walk. (267字)

(四)自我成長

At the beginning, I encountered the biggest problem - language barrier. When we arrived in Poland , Professor Anna she can speak Polish who took us to buy a SIM card, so it went well. But when we went to store want to refill our card balance, it was a poor communication, and we still smoothly refill. The real problem is that when we first went to other European countries to travel, we bought the roaming on the APP, but it doesn't work. When we returned to Poland, we immediately went to the store to inquiry, and the staff could not understand our problems. However, we found an enthusiastic polish who would know a little English. She helped us to convey, but the staff said that she could not help, and we had to go out and discuss how to express it. When we re-entered in the store, most of the staff in the store went into the lounge and laughed. There was only one staff left in the store. When we stood in front of the counter and try hard to explain our problem, she said that she could not understand. Finally, we did not solve any problems. In the end, I could only seek the help of my mentor Monika. She immediately promised to go with us, and this time we finally solved the roaming problem smoothly. After that, my roommate encountered the same problem. This time we found a better solution - telephone customer service, the staff English is very good, and he is very patient to solve our problem. This time we solve the problem by ourselves without any help.(273字)

(五)大三出國建議

I would like to recommend Millennium Bank I use now. The advantage that the Debit Card is divide into EURO card and PLN card, which means there will be two cards. When you want to use Euro, you will use the EURO card. If you want to use Zloty, you can use the PLN Card. There are only one card in some banks, sometimes you want to use Zloty, but the system will deduct the euro. The bank also has its own app to view balances and remittances. Tellers can speak English, but you may still need help from your mentor when open an account. The disadvantage is that there is no Taiwan in the bank's system, and the system will set your country as China. There are also some apps that can be used in daily life. The first one is Jakdojade. It is an app for Polish mass transit (except trains). There is no bus route in google map in Lublin. The advantage is that it will show the reality arrival time of the bus. You can also use the APP to buy a bus e-ticket. The disadvantage is that this app can only be set in Polish, and the distination you need to enter the Polish address or station name. The second one is iTaxi.pl, which is an app to book a taxi. The advantage is that most taxi drivers in Poland do not speak English. This app can set your all requirements. The model, license plate number and taxi fare of the taxi will be displayed on the APP. When you book a taxi, you can also watch its detailed positioning and how long taxi will come. The disadvantage is that its positioning sometimes is not very accurate, so first you must confirm your location is correct, and then book the taxi, that you won't miss the taxi.(313字)
