The course I like the most is Japanese class. It’s a special experience to learn Japanese in a foreign language. I didn’t take any Japanese courses in Taiwan, but I really want to learn Japanese since Japan is one of the nearest country from Taiwan. And that’s why I decided to choose this class. Honestly, it seems like learning Japanese in English is difficult, but when you experienced it, you will find out that’s more interesting than you thought. For instance, there are “kanji” in Japanese, which is the Chinese characters. As a Taiwanese, it’s easy for me to write, but not for Americans. In this case, you can teach them how to write “kanji” and also learn the pronunciation of English from them. Furthermore, I make lots of friends in Japanese class! I suggest people who would like to learn Japanese can choose this class while you are studying aboard in CSULB. There are lots of Japanese professors in CSULB, and my professor is Ms. Suzuki. She is a young and kind lady that I really like the way she taught in class. Her class is so interesting that every students in this Japanese class love. Not only taught us the lecture on the textbook, but also gave us lots of materials that related to the lessons. Needless to say, a language class will have lots of homework to do, but in my opinion, if you want to learn a new language well, you need to keep practice. Just like the first time you learn English! For me, it’s not a big deal to do those homework. I strongly recommend this class, because of the reasons that I listed above. Finally, I enjoy to learn Japanese in California and this will be a nice memory for my study aboard life.(307字)

(三)生活環境

CSULB is a amazing school. First of all, the campus is so big and is so beautiful! There is a pyramid in our school, which is a stadium, sometimes I went there for watching volleyball games. I live in an apartment with other four students from Tamkang university. We rent an apartment that is right next to Beachside, which is one of the dorms of CSULB. So it’s really convenient for us to go to school, we have several ways to go to school. For example, we can take bus and school shuttle, there is a bus stop of route121, 171, 175 right in front of the apartment. We can take route 121 to school in only 15 minutes. Furthermore, it’s free to take buses that belongs to Long Beach transit as you are a student of CSULB, all you need to do is to get the student card and tap it to the machine on the bus. In my opinion, it’s much more convenient to take bus to school than driving to school, because you need to pay for the parking lot if you want to park in school. Our apartment is located in a nice place that we have several restaurants around this area and it only takes 10 minutes by foot to supermarket. The most important thing is that “in n out” is nearby my apartment! Yay! Needless to say, California is always a place that have lovely sunshine and nice weather, and also it’s a place you can chill all day! In conclusion, I enjoy everything I ate, everyone I met and every place I went here! I love my life in California!(276字)

(四)自我成長

There are some difficulties during my study aboard life. For example, different eating habits. Americans have a habit of drinking iced water or soda with meals. This really annoys me, because every time I go to restaurants they only offer free iced tea, no matter how cold the weather is, they only offer free iced water. It’s really different from Taiwan. In Taiwan, most of the restaurants offer free hot tea when it’s wintertime. Moreover, hamburgers and fries are delicious, but as an Asian, I can’t have hamburgers and fries everyday and every meal. Americans always eat fast food, everything is fried. And there are only few Chinese restaurant in Long Beach. That means I need to cook by myself, and I started to learn how to cook meals! At the first, it takes me two hours to cook one meal and that meal is not in the good taste at all, but now it takes me only one hour to cook three dishes and one soup! I’m surprised that I made it. Nothing is impossible! Finally, I’m a little Chef Ramsay! On the other hand, there are some difficulties on lecture too. English is not my mother language, sometimes I can’t understand what professors said or what my friends said. At the first, I’m too shy to ask, but after that I think if I don't ask I can't improve my English skills and maybe can’t do well on lectures. So don’t be shy, just ask! I think everyone will help you!(262字)

(五)大三出國建議

I strongly recommend people who choose to study in U.S.A need to rent or buy a car! U.S.A is really big, it’s not convenient if you don’t have a car here. And also you need to have driver’s license . Make sure that you change your Taiwanese driver’s license to an international license, so that you can rent car here. I strongly recommend you should take a road trip to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe bend on your vacation! Not only the landscapes there are amazing, but also the scenery along the way! Furthermore, the Disneyland in CA is the first Disneyland in the world, so it’s a “must go” list. Your dreams will come true there in Disneyland! Another place that you must travel is San Francisco! It’s a really different place from LA county, the housing there are different from LA. Everything is different! You need to feel it by yourself. Every place is simply stunning, and also there are lots of places that was filmed in movies! If you are a fan of Warriors, you will definitely need to watch NBA there and visit Golden Gate Bridge! In conclusion, STUDY HARD, PLAY HARD AND ENJOY CALIFORNIA! The last but not the least, make sure you bring your favorite instant noodles! Make sure you bring your favorite instant noodles! Make sure you bring your favorite instant noodles!
