(一)基本資料

For my junior year, Semester 2018-2019, I went to UMCS-(Marie Curie skłodowskiej), which located in Lublin in eastern Poland. In Lublin, there is also a medical university and many freshmen for every year. We were arranged in Erasmus program, however, we aren't Erasmus student at some parts, this really confused sometime, anywhere, we usually said we are Erasmus and exchanged for one year when someone asks why we are here. The most important is they like to ask you, Why Poland?(83字)

(二)課程學習

Actually, there are so many courses I want to introduce, but this comes into my mind for the first time. So this is my favorite course ''Strategic Culture of the US''. It is not because taught something about the US, but because the professor is an ambassador and his teaching style is so casual. He is so nice person and not being tough, he just like an intelligent grandpa. He likes to exchange idea and discuss for a proper time because we have a lot of students come from different countries not only European. He is willing to learn something new and compare to Poland or the US in the end. When some embarrassing things happened, he deals with a humorous and comfort way. Don’t need to say his lecture is prepared very well, and teach a lot of local ideology. Glad to learned basic knowledge when I was in Langyang campus, for example, the three right separate and what's the power they own, which means ''checks and balances''. For the beginning course and need to know so much, it is very helpful when you have the basic knowledge at first. In here, most professors were just sitting in front of the computer, and read their own paper, and when comes to the students’ presentations are the same scene as well. This is the biggest difference from Taiwan because we always are asked to remember the content and fluently speak out on the stage (or maybe only in Langyang), and I thought every foreign people should be better expression than us, however, I was so shocked when I saw the scenes. There are also some students who have much confidence when they choose to present naturally and their spontaneous response is so great definitely! So there are no wrong or right presentations, only better and fabulous. (307字)

(三)生活環境

This picture is about our dormitory. On the right hand of the top is how it looks like. We heard that ''Femina'' is the best student dormitory; therefore we all choose this one. Without a doubt, this is the best student dorm in UMCS. There are two rooms in 210 (two people a room), one kitchen, one bathroom, one toilet, and one washing machine! We heard that the other student dormitory only have one kitchen in one flat so they need to share a kitchen with other people and no washing machine in their room. If they want to wash their clothes, they need to ask for the key from the manager of the dorm and only for two hours every time. Not to mention our sheets, quilt, and the pillowcase can be changed to a new set after washing every month! The rent is so cheap as well. 480 zloty -(3840 NT$) per person each month with the internet. 455 zloty without internet –(3640 NT$). There is a convenience store nearby in five minutes, and one bus station to the bigger supermarket’’ E’Leclerk’’. Ten minutes walk to a shopping mall ‘’PLAZA’’ In front of that convenience store, there is an Asian restaurant, it is so cheap and large meals, high CP. ‘’MAKA’’ upstairs, and its pizza is delicious. From ‘’Femina’’, 5 minutes to Economics Faculty and bus station, 25 minutes (3 stops) to Political Science Faculty. 20 minutes to IKEA. Political Science Faculty already near old town, and there is an ice cream store called ‘’BOSKO’’ is also cheap and large! (255字)

(四)自我成長

The difficulty in life is okay, and I want to share the part of cultural shock. In April 2019, I went to Italy. We chose the accommodation method for sofa surfing. At the beginning, we are so worried because there are many bad commons about Italians on the Internet. So, in fact, we are also scared of encountering bad HOST or encountering thieves, but we are glad that we are safe to go to Rome this time, there is no danger of our imagination, and the landlord is super good, he is with his girlfriend 20 years already, and he left the whole flat to us completely. Then he lived back to his own home. We seem to have lived in a free Airbnb, and the landlord is very warm and lovely. He also understands the situation in Taiwan. I think this is the most touching for Taiwanese in a foreign country. There is no need to explain that Taiwan is really not Thailand!!! After the flight, it was too late. There was no train from Warsaw to return to Lublin. I had to stay in Warsaw for one night, and we were fortunate enough to live in the home of a Ukrainian boy. He had just started to operate Couchsurfing, and he also let the room come out and ask our 'guest' to sleep on the bed and let himself sleep in the living room. Both of these experiences are very good, and both make us feel as if we are at home, but the premise is that we have to carefully select them. (263字)

(五)大三出國建議

Here are some suggestions for the next one who are going to UMCS, even Poland. It’s a very regrettable thing for me even I like to save money so I bring a lot here. 1. Because the price of Poland is really cheap! Therefore, clothes and shoes should not be taken too much. Instead, the sanitary cotton (pads- girl stuff) is taken more, which not only can reduce the weight of your luggage, but also save money and use the napkins that you are used to. The pads are not my type. They don’t have a label on the lengths, and its material either too thick or like nothing. 2. I don't like their wash gel as well; it feels like you never wash my face with the cleanser. I haven't used the foam very dense yet, so I would rather wash my face with soap. 3. PLAY Telecom is very bad, the physical storefront attitude is very poor, even if they don’t know whether they have a roaming plan. When I go abroad, I suffered a lot of trouble. In the beginning, we will ask the mentor to go with us to the store to solve the problem. Later, we will directly call customer service. But the accent is really heavy, sometimes I don’t understand very well. 4. Tickets are basically cheaper in the second half of the year and will be more expensive in the first half of the year. (Flight, Flixbus, etc.) 5. However, there are so many great experiences you can create! Just Enjoy and do something different not in Taiwan! (264字)

(六)其他

Here is some experience I think is so special. We met our Taiwan classmates who exchange in Prague and we celebrate the New Year Eve together in Berlin. We stay there only a few days, there are so many people so crowdy and its looks like it will have some secret violence like ISIS, so we are so afraid and scared, however, there were so many police to secure carefully. Even we don't understand the singer but the best memory is we met together, and after we celebrated New Year Eve, we went to Netherland immediately and met the other Taiwanese classmate who studiesa in Spain. It's so great and warm after a tiring trip and saw the close friend.(120字)
