There are many memorable activities I liked in my courses, one of the activity I would like to share with is the write up of art galleries. This one was given out in the Intro to the Visual Arts, where the instructor wants us to go out to an art gallery or museum, to see the promoted exhibition at the time and give some after thoughts. I visited one of the Latin American art gallery and was amazed of the works being shown there. I spent around 2 hours to look at the works being shown there, and asked one of the guards to take a picture after. This, along with other activities that asks the students to visit places on their free time, inspired me wanting to spend some free time to go around the place, to see what's happening around the world. The teachers are there to help, so don't be ashamed asking a few questions. I find myself more often than not turning to teacher asking questions, and the teachers always respond in friendly. Materials covered in classes are usually provided online by the teachers, so you can also use that to your advantage. I highly recommend any of the courses that encourages students to spend their free time on field research. Not only do they make you to go outdoors, it is also a great way to get acquainted with society and events around the world.(239字)

CSULB is a huge campus with many buildings, it can be a little hard to find your way around it in the first few days, but the layout was carefully designed as pedestrian friendly. If you're driving then there are plenty of parking lots in the campus, you don't have to worry about finding a spot in a pinch. Since I decided to live on campus, I have less time spent on commuting to school. The dormitory are neat and tidy, and each dormitory buildings has their own resident assistant, so it's easy to find help and ask questions. The rooms are mostly for two, and some can hold up to three residents. There's also a buffet dining halls for residents and non-residents with extra fee. There is a mail post for online shopping needs. Showering room and laundry room are shared within each buildings. The weathers there are easy to predict, it can get cold in winter, but for the most time it's usually mild hot seasons. I brought both long and short sleeves and found myself wearing mostly short sleeves. There are many useful buildings around the campus, so if you ever need anything, one part of the campus might have what you need. They also hold events so students can participate and know each other. Overall, you will walk a lot to explore the place. There are many things to offer in the campus, so don't hesitate to partake one or another.(245字)

Finding friends or just someone to talk to in the campus proved to be a little difficult for me, one being that I was only staying for a year, so it's not possible to build long lasting friendship, and most courses I've taken are from different departments, resulting less frequent meeting with my classmates. But I did find plenty of people to talk to, and I have always stayed positive and friendly towards other classmates, so it's ok for me to not finding any friends. Living in the dormitory means one have to look after themselves. The rooms are shared, but I still think taking responsibility of what I do takes a huge part in play. I need to start taking out the trashes, wash and dry my own clothing, remember to stay on schedule for schools and other activities, etc. In the end, studying abroad without support is going to be hard, but everyone needs to start from somewhere. Eating at the dining halls introduced me to a new variety of dishes. They serve mostly mexico cuisine, and sometimes serving Chinese or Korean styled cooking. These made me accept a wide range of cooking, I became less picky in what I eat, and I appreciate for the food being prepared. Learning with a secondary language is going to take much more effort than learning it with primary language. I studied for English for a long time and I still learn new words every class I go to. Sometimes the teacher will help with providing materials used online in this matter, and helped me to get through classes easier. All in all, these are just some minor experiences I've had during the time of my stay. I enjoy the time spent there and it certainly made me learn a lot.(300字)

Spend some time to do research first, you need to prepare for the staying for a year. Know where to buy necessities, how to prepare food, place of interest to visit, etc. Make sure you have a sustainable lifestyle! It's very important to keep a healthy body and and a clear mind to keep the study going. If you're not sure what to do to improve your lifestyle, start by planning out a weekly schedule, so you don't lose track of time or things to do in the near future. Don't forget to make home calls or contacting with those close to you. Text or phone every once in a while, keep in check with the instructors and ask questions if needed. They will help you regarding the problems you encounter in class. Take a walk around the campus and you might find some interesting spots to look at. University Student Union is always a great place to start. Grab a bite to ready yourself at an outpost, research for additional materials at the university library, you can even workout a little bit at the school fitness center. Looking to buy a textbook? The University bookstore provides second-handed textbooks so you don't have to buy them at retail price, you can even rent them for a low price. If you want to learn something, then you can start almost anywhere. University only provides the tools and resources, but it is you who needs to do the learning. And if you don't do the learning, all that tool and resources provided are wasted.(262字)
