2018大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

In my junior year, I choose Indiana University Of Pennsylvania to studied. IUP is in Pennsylvania state,which is a small town near Pittsburgh.And I go abroad from August 20, 2018 to May 26, 2019. I chose some class which is not my major like religion or world politics.(46字)

(二)課程學習

in this semester,i chose introduce to religion World politics and communicate on media these three classes.as far as I concerned,World politics is my favorite class,It is belonged to Political Science even though my major is Information of technology.But world politics is still not difficult for us. I still remember the first class of world politics — “The instructor,Dr. Christopher S Chaney began the course with short introduction,she introduce China and USA have a trade war.That is first time I feel I connect with the world.I realize I live in USA right now,which is my dream place.The major reason why I recommend the class that is about my nice professor Dr. Christopher S Chaney. She was not like ordinary professors who taught materials and followed schedule step by step.On the contrary,She chose some interesting topic from newspaper and with humor attitude to teach us through lecture.Sometimes,she would look upon her personal experience in life as an example to help us understand the concept of theory or hypothesis in language.Actually politics is one of my habit in my senior high school.when I study in TAMKANG university I almost give up this habit.but she makes my heart full of passion again.this professor is a interesting woman,who can speak so many kinds of language.She would ask my opinion by Chinese and then we communicate with each other by a unfamiliar language for American students. in 2018 it was still have some American like to Discriminate other country.It is difficult to describe this feeling about foreigner could understand my culture and identify.Sometimes she ever picked some news are talking about Taiwan and China this kind of sensitive situation.She often gave us some bonus knowledge.Because of this class, I think I can recognize International situation more clearly.(314字)

(三)生活環境

When the first day I arrived the United States, I was totally afraid of everything.It was my first time took airplane and leave Taiwan. I need to adapt all the new things in the new country. Obviously, this is the first time I leave my country for a long while, also the first time I have been in United State. At first I thought, indiana is a big state in United state,but Indiana is a small city in Pennsylvania. Before I went to IUP, a lot of people said IUP just like Lamyang campus.Because there is nothing—few selections of restaurants and nowhere for shopping—which is like you are trapped into a big cage, especially for the people who are used to the convenient transportation in Taiwan. For me, I prefer this kind of environment, there are a lot of trees on campus, it’s very natural, and you can even see some squirrels while you walk around the campus.As for the dormitory, all of the international students have to live in Wallwork. I chose the “two person share semi-suite room”which means bedroom kitchen and bathroom everything you need to share with your roommate.Some of my friends chose private room,privacy is the most important thing for them.For me,I think my english not really well.So this is the best chance to practice english conversation for me.Lucky me ,my roommate was a nice japanese guy. We like to cook some food together, talk some porn stuff at night, I got a best friend in this year.Once we also drive to Pittsburgh ‘PNC park ’ to saw a baseball game, that was also the first time I drove in the US, the landscape on the road just like the movie what we see, how a big road and nothing nearby the high way. If you want to rent the car, "car share" is the most conveninent and cheapest way.But if you can't rent the car "Indi Go" bus is your best way to indiana mall and Walmart. When you get a I-CARD (student ID card) you can took the free bus in Indiana.(363字)

(四)自我成長

IUP was different as lamyang campus, because they have some special activity that we don't have. I participated one of them "international family" this program in IUP, Actually i feel afraid of joing that acticity originally.United state used to be a racism country before, I learn it from history textbook. I afraid they will discrimate us or bully us,therefore I think I will quit from it as soon as possible,When the first time we met, we needed to introduce ourselves to each other. It is my first time join new family, I hope them like me. Lucky me,They treat me like their son, take me to some place which is not for outsider.When I have some annoy problem,they always do their best to help me.Like shooting range, that is one of my dream i n United State.But shooting range have age limit 21 is minium, that moment I was 20. Teaching environment,this point was different as Taiwan totally.Most students in Taiwan only get knowledge from what professor said,which is used for exam not for interest.American students is that they have strong enthusiasm to their major; different from us, they choose to get into the university since they desire to pave the way for their tomorrow instead of wasting time and money.(221字)

(五)大三出國建議

When you arrive IUP, I recommend you should create an account of PNC and apply for debit card in HUB as soon as possible. PNC bank is really useful,if you use Taiwan credit card you have to pay some handling fee. Meal plan was a tough question, I chose 14 meals without flex.I think this one is suitable for me.10 meals and 14 meals their different just 50 dollars,therefore i think 14 meals is good choice.You should bring some medicine from Taiwan,cause hospital is expensive than Taiwan for real.The final part, is the most important part.Let me give you a advice, don't stay in the dorm just walk around or go to other city.enjoy your every moment in USA.do not restrict yourself by others’ experiences and opinions. The only thing you can to do is to enjoy the one-year time and come back without regret.Studying abroad was a difficult and precious experience.Have fun~~(160字)
