(二)課程學習

During this year in Indiana, my favorite class will definitely be Global Politics. This class have an assignment and test every class. But I have to say that this class is interesting. For example, this class in my schedule are Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday, the professor will talk about the world map. And also talk about the issue which is behind the US and China. Before this class, the professor will give us the article from CNN or another news website. Professor will ask us to read the article. On Thursday, the professor will let all of the students discuss the news. And because there are four different news, so the students need to share the article with other classmates. Before this activity, there will have a test. But it is very easy if you join the discussion with classmates. It is easy to get A. Beside this, the professor often prepares some food in class. This class is different than in Taiwan. This class is like a talk show. Why I said it is like a talk show. During this class, the professor sometimes eats the desert in class. And sometimes, the professor will play a game. So this class will not be bored. In this class, our professor’s name is Dr. Rachel Sternfeld. She is a nice professor. She is very nice to international students. Also, if you have a question. Before this class, students can ask her any question. She will give you the answer to the question. But actually, she will discuss with you to get the answer. And this will help the students think very clearly. In the end, there will have a project called “ Final Project”. This project is very interesting. First, the students need to choose an article from this semester and make a post. During the final class, each student needs to share their own post to other students and talk to other students what is this news.(328字)

(三)生活環境

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s climate usually sunny day. In summer, it is cool for the people who are from Taiwan. I recommend that the student can bring a jacket in the package when taking the class. Because to me, I need to wear a jacket so that I will be more comfortable. In the fall, it is like the winter in Taiwan. But sometimes it will very hot. To me. The temperature in fall is the most comfortable in IUP. Because of the weather usually sunny day. In the winter, sometimes it will be a snow day. I know the snow day is very beautiful for us. For example, this is my first time to touch the real snow. But to be honest, the snow day is the worst day in IUP. First, the floor will be very hard to walk because it will be very slippery. Also, it will be very dry when you going out. I recommend that students can buy the lotion so that their skin will not be hurt. IUP is a convenient place. There have Walmart and some store nearby. You can walk there if it is good weather. Also, Indiana University of Pennsylvania has a free bus. You can use your student card to take the free bus. Take me for example, when I　have free time, I will take the bus to Walmart to buy the chips and the drinks. Also, Walmart is very convenient. There has a haircut shop. Also when you pay, you can use the debit card. (258字)

(四)自我成長

In the beginning, I am very afraid of speaking English to the people who live in the US. I know they will know that we can not speak very well just like they cannot speak Chinese very well. But I have to say that in IUP, there are many classes that we need to discuss with classmates. Like some activities. How do I face this problem is that I talk to them by myself. I told them that I want to join them as well as possible. But my English is not very well. Hope them can help me. Guess what, all of them help me to take the class. Sometimes I cannot hear what the professor is talking about. They lend the note to me and tell me what the professor said. Also, when my friend in that class study for the exam. She told me that we can study together. Therefore, that class I get a B and pass that class very easily. In the thanksgiving holiday, my friends and I go to New York. I have to said that the people at the airport is very fearful. Like in Taiwan, they are very nice and polite. But in the US, they are different than Taiwan. After this, I ask my friends about this. They told me that because of the safety. Because in the US, many people have their own gun. If they bring it to the airplane. The passenger will get hurt very easily. That’s why they need to be very fearful. (257字)

(五)大三出國建議

The Indiana University of Pennsylvania is a nice place in the US. Also, it is very famous in the US. If you want to go to IUP, it will be a great choice if you choose it. Before you go to that university, you need to know that communication in IUP is very important. You do not need to talk very formally. But you need to be brave to talk to other people. Not only classmates but also people in the US. Do not afraid to talk to other people. They will not bite you. Even if you use the word to talk to them. It is okay. I have a friend who is also from the US but work in Taiwan. He told me that actually people in the US do not very care grammar. He said that whatever you talking about if the listener can understand what you are talking about. It does not matter. Also, the food in the US is not very delicious. I recommend that if you go to IUP. You can use a website called “Yummy buy”. You can buy Asia food from that website. And if you are preparing what you want to bring. You can buy some instant noodles in the US. You can eat it when you are in the US. The restaurants in university have many choices that you can choice. But remember how many meals you have and record in your smartphone because sometimes the machine will be broken so that you can not get in the restaurant. (259字)
