2018大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

I studied at California State University, Long Beach. It is located in Long Beach city, I stayed there for 10 months. I have took 4 courses, I really enjoyed the classes.(29字)

(二)課程學習

Skills Methods Global Leadership was my favorite course, Mrs. McCall was so nice and friendly to the students, she took really good care of foreigner students as well. If I did not quite understand the lesson, I always felt comfortable to ask her after class. We had a little conversation every classes before we started, we were talking about some global news or big events that happened around the world. The conversation helped me know a lot of things that I will never pay attention to and made me more knowledgeable. We had 4 presentations in this semester, besides having little conversation. We worked with our teammates, it gave us the opportunity to work with other students and know about how the students there make their works done. On Halloween, Mrs. McCall gave us some candies and showed the photos of her children to us, I really enjoyed that day. Mrs. McCall required us to read a book during the semester, we had a so interesting conversation at the last 2 weeks and we had a game about the book. That made me feel a little bit different from Taiwanese’s courses and learned about it. One time, Mrs. McCall asked us to talk about the culture different, I took the chance to say the difference between Taiwan and the United State, she agreed with me and told us that her brother marries to a Taiwanese woman and lives in Taiwan. After that class, she talked to me about the trip to Taiwan, she loves it. I invited her to Taiwan and I will show her around. Mrs. McCall shared some experience about working in different countries, she had her master degree in France and Italy and that is why she is a trilingual. She also encouraged us to go to different countries to studied.(303字)

(三)生活環境

I lived in an apartment next to one of the school dormitory and it takes 10 to 15 minutes to school by bus. I was satisfy with my apartment because it is convenient and have many bus stops in front of the gate. Long Beach campus is a huge campus, sometimes it takes me 10 minutes to walk to the building from the bus station. There are a lot of students from all over the world, did not make me feel I am different from them. I always enjoy the walk to bus station after finishing my classes. The weather there was so nice and seldom rain, most of the people do not use the umbrellas even it is raining. Remember the first rain I had, it came so quick and me and my roommates was ready to out for dinner. At that time, we did not expect to have heavy rain, after we got to the diner, it started raining so hard. At last, we took the uber to home. There are quite a lot of shopping mall near my place. Me and my roommates went shopping a lot, we bought clothes, shoes, cosmetic……we were really enjoyed the time in the shopping mall. There also have beaches, the nearest one only takes 5 minutes by driving. Once, I had a barbeque in Huntington Beach, we also held a campfire. That was my first time to have a campfire at the beach and I had so much fun. If I have any chance to go back there, I will definitely go.(258字)

(四)自我成長

The first day I got there, me and my roommates were buying some furniture and opening our bank accounts. That was the first problem we had, then we asked the cashier to speak slower. Every day we had progressed during every conversation with the local people. Few weeks after I arrived the United State, I felt like I get use to speak to local speaker. During the time, I had to do everything by myself. The most interesting thing is we can go everywhere we want, I also traveled with my roommates. We have been to San Francisco, Miami, Orlando, New York and Philadelphia. I am not a travel person, but I had so much fun at that time. This was also the first time traveling without my family. I do not good at cooking, but I have learned a lot from my roommates, they made everything so delicious. We went to market by ourselves, I learn how to shop in a market and buy in the cheapest way. Everything I had were so precious. I never go to bank by myself, in there, I need to do everything and make sure my bank account was fine. In the United State, I have to learn buy daily stuff by myself, which is better or how could I buy the best one for myself. This was such a great experience for me, I had learned how to take care of myself of everything and make sure everything is right without my family helping me.(253字)

(五)大三出國建議

If you love being under sunshine every day, California is always the best choice to you. Long beach is a convenient city, it takes no more than two hours to go to the hot places in Los Angeles County. If you miss having Taiwanese food, it only takes you twenty minutes to go and enjoy. Two cities nearby, Cerritos and Irvine, you can have every kind of Taiwanese food. Also, you can have the best Korean and Japanese food there. Do not feel afraid of studying abroad, after arriving there you will love it and do not want to go back. You can go to any place you want during Thanksgiving Day and spring break. You will enjoy the time having lessons with students from all over the countries. You could make some friends that speak different languages. The amazing part is when you are leaving you will only feel sad and still want to be with them. That will be a special memory of yours and keep in your deep mind. Enjoying the time that you do not have to stay with your family and having so much fun. But you need to be thankful to your parents to let you have the opportunity to study abroad. At the meantime, you still have to take good care of your study, because you have to play hard and study hard. You could learn things that you will never have in Taiwan as much as you can and make every moment wonderful.(251字)
