My favorite professor is Janet Ochs. This professor is mainly teaching computer related courses. I have done her Intro to Website Development class and computer and security class. When I was in Taiwan, I was very reluctant to write programs or doing coding because I didn’t understand well and even don’t know how to do coding. Before the Intro to Website Development class, I have been checking with my teacher that my ability to write programs is almost zero-based, but the teacher constantly reminds me that I am courageous. After class, I found that the professor is not only very good at pronunciation it was really clearly, but the volume is also loud enough. Even English is not my first language. I can still understand clearly what the professor wants us to do or what she was trying to show or teach us. In addition, the professor is a very patient person. She usually teaching coding one by one lines and showed us the example programming one by one lines too. One of the best thing in her class is she likes to explain the programming each lines slowly to try to let us understand , and because there are not many students in the class it was around twenty people in a class so the professor can come down and walk in the classroom to see if everyone has to keep up or if anyone needs help. The teacher’s homework is also done in the classroom too there is no homework they all called in class assignments, and there is not much pressure on the midterm exams and final exams because the exam will be scattered into six small quiz to spread the pressure on exams. And sometimes you can drop one or two lowest grades from your quizzes.(302字)

(三)生活環境

It’s actually very empty near the school, but there are also some stores you really need. There are two markets one called Aldi another called Walmart. There is also a store selling clothes, shoes, makeup, etc. it called Marshall. And one bank and some restaurants around school, but entertainment stuff you may be go a little bit far away from school. I really like my school dormitory the concept is a house has four parts two upstairs two down stairs. And each part has four single rooms one kitchen two bathrooms one living room and for cabinets in public area. And kitchen has everything oven, microwave, dishwasher, and gas stove. Because the rooms like that so it is like you have roommates but at the same time you have your privacy space too. That is why I like it so much. Cortland is North and East part in America, so the weather is cold in summer the height temperature is twenty-two Celsius and it started snowing around at the end of October until the middle of April even in May it still really cool the temperature was around ten Celsius. But although the weather is cold I still like it because I like cold weather more than hot weather. I don’t like sweating so when I arrived Taiwan I felt really hot I think it is because I get used to the weather in Cortland. Talking about Transportation way going to school is convenient there is always school buses going to school every thirty minutes. Wednesdays and weekends have shopping buses and they are all for free. (269字)

(四)自我成長

The biggest problem I have encountered in my school life there is that it is inconvenient to go to the post office or the bank temporarily. On the one hand, because the post office and banks close very early, there is an urgent need to go there and no car because the bus trip is fixed time. So, I need to walk a lot to do the thing in post office or banks. The biggest difficult thing in the course is not to understand the course. Because the professors are very kind and caring about the situation of each student, they will help in time. The biggest challenge for me is find a group to work together I don’t know why it was so hard for me to find a group to join even I was the team member when I gave them some of my options they will just say it sounds good, but they never put my idea into the homework. Maybe they are not really about my option but they trying to be nice. And I also found that almost all my friends are international students or Asians but fewer American people. About culture shock yes there is one. In Taiwan we usually eat red beans and black beans for dessert or sweet food but in the Unite State they eat beans in salty way with rice. At the first I really don’t want to try it and one time I finally be brave to try it. Now it become the food I really miss. They are so good to eat with rice. (268字)

(五)大三出國建議

First, I really want to tell them to be brave. No matter what kind of thing coming be brave to face it by yourself you will learn a lot from it. Second, try not to just be staying with your friends like what I said be brave to be alone sometimes. If you still staying with your friends all the time, then why you want to study aboard, and you will just be speaking Chinese then don’t wasting your parents’ money you can speak a lot of Chinese in Taiwan. Third, it is still the brave thing. Don’t be afraid to talk to foreigners your face can show them English is not your first language obviously. So even you say something wrong or you have accent they won’t say anything. You also can think you can speak two languages at least maybe they only know English so why you need to be shy when you are talking to them. And then I will say if you can try to join as much as activities you can because this is an easier way to meet new friends and get more memories. If you already paid for the airplane ticket and the visa fee why don’t you spend more time to create more memories, there. Try to let your school life be more worth and more special. Last thing I want to say is please join your life there and love the choice you chose. Don't regret going abroad when you are already there. Overwhelming is not good either go to try every new thing you can. (269字)
