2018大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

Ｗilliam Angliss institute/ Melbourne/ 2018/7/16~2019/5/29 In the first semester, I studied hotel management courses and catering operations courses at the school. The second semester I worked with the industry internships and complete the return assignments that the school requried.(38字)

(二)課程學習

My favorite course is Food and beverage operations in the first semester. And my teacher is Kylie. She is a very kind teacher who most often says: "Don't be afraid to make mistakes, only mistakes will lead you to find a way to succeed." During the time when I was still in Taiwan, I didn’t have a lot of working experience. I only had one year experience in a pizza shop. After I came to Melbourne, I must quickly find a job because of the next semester internship program. However, it was not that easy because the lack of working experience. This course helped us quickly to learn about food and beverage operation and also to better understand the basic knowledge of the Australian restaurant industry. Recalling the first practical class. At that time, I felt that I couldn’t do anything well and was not confident as well. Our first lesson is to learn how to do three-plate carry. However, I was not able to take the empty plate, let alone the plate with food. With the weekly course, I learn a lot. The benefit of this class is that we will have guests who actually go to the training restaurant. These guests will also give some feedback after finishing the dining. In this way, we know how to improve our shortcomings. Each class Kylie will let us hold different positions. We will do this in groups and we must make an oral report for each position. The advantage of doing this is to let me learn teamwork and increase the ability of English speaking. The learning content includes bicycle/function table settings, floor/bar/kitchen management and customer service. Besides, we also learn how to make cocktails and coffee which was so interesting. These are all different learning compare to the theory learning. I believe the course made a lot of help for my actual employment internship. (320字)

Before arriving in Melbourne, I heard that Melbourne is one of the most suitable cities for human habitation. After this years’ experience, I really like the quality of life in Melbourne. Overall, this place has the highest quality and security in Australia. In addition to this, Melbourne is also a very literary city with street graffiti, street performers and ancient buildings. This is also a famous coffee city; everyone is a coffee expert. Coffee is also really outstanding in Melbourne. In addition to the price is slightly higher. I highly recommend the living environment in Melbourne. School location: The William Angliss Institute is located in Melbourne CBD and is a very convenient location for those who live in the city. Transportation and Accommodation: The traffic in downtown Melbourne is basically very convenient, almost all have tram, bus or train can be used. I chose to live in the share house in the city. This choice can save me a lot of transportation costs, because there are free tram zones in the urban area. However, the urban housing prices are also slightly more expensive, so compared to the suburban houses, the relative accommodation quality will be lower. But I can meet different people and broaden my horizon. I like it very much. Climate: In Melbourne's climate, winter temperatures generally last between 3 and 15 degrees Celsius, and summer temperatures are between 20 and 35 degrees. Due to the special geographical location, there are tourists who laugh and say that Melbourne has four seasons a day. But in fact, I think I can adapt quickly. (259字)

(四)自我成長

For me, regarding the recognition of the cultural part, I believe that the problem of racial discrimination exists. But even if this problem exists, it is not the biggest problem that affects people and people in different countries. First of all, I learned that to integrate into a new culture, I must first put aside stereotypes. Many times, when I talk to others with confidence, I can easily break the established perceptions of others. This study abroad experience gives me a chance to meet people from different countries, no matter Asian or Western. Everyone has their own advantages and disadvantages. I learn that do not have too much worship for others, and don't look down on myself. In addition, there are often many moments in life, and I have to learn to solve problems myself. This situation force me to be brave and independent. I always consider that my maturity is very low in this aspect. Therefore, I often feel pressure and don't know what to do. But after this year, I think that I have more courage and calmly to think about what I want. Surprisingly, in many cases, I found that I can solve many problems by myself. Finally, I think language barriers are often the biggest obstacle. Many times, because I am afraid to speak English, it causes others to think that you can't communicate. In fact, the language is just understandable. I don't have to be afraid to use the wrong grammar, but need to speak out. (251字)

(五)大三出國建議

I consider that going abroad is a great experience. Such an opportunity allows us to have a chance to see the world at our college stage. First of all, you have to study hard. Do not live up to the most important purpose of study abroad. In addition to learning, what is also important is how to make the right decisions and arrange the time effectively. After going abroad, I found that I had more free time to do things that I want to do. Take advantage of some time, not only can enrich yourself, but also find your own hobbies. I suggest that you can plan to have your trip, short courses or regular exercise are all great options. I had almost travelled all over the Australia and experienced these different places in same countries. It’s interesting to know more about a place each time you plan your trip with independent travel. My advice is always not to forget the motivation and expectation of going abroad. Don't think that everything is very ordinary because you have been abroad for a while. Give yourself a little more courage to try different things and get in touch with different people. You might find your own shortcomings, but you can also see your strengths through the eyes of others. As the saying goes, work hard, play hard, and find a balance in your life. Not under the parent's jurisdiction, you can live a wonderful life or live a very dissipated life. It is all about your choice. (256字)

(六)其他

The most meaningful thing for me is to make friends. I met friends from different countries at workplace and met many Taiwanese at the sharehouse. In addition, I went to Brisbane to find a friend of my childhood, and it was really good to be able to meet a confidant in her hometown. I also learned a lot about coffee related knowledge and how to make coffee during the year.(70字)
