(一)基本資料

My name is Li-Wen Hsu. I chose to study at Cal State Long Beach University as my third year study aboard program. The campus is full of students with multiple nationalities which I could enjoy the diversities especially the international social events or distinct activities that students are welcomed to join. Exploration is gradually becoming my main part of life during live here, which I'm passionate to communicate with different values while developing myself. Meanwhile, the courses are extremely abundant that students could easily choose to study depending on our interests. For example, people select foreign languages courses, realizing different cultural backgrounds. (102字)

(二)課程學習

One of my favorite lessons is a Spanish class. In the United States, Spanish is equivalent to our Minnan language for them. Almost everyone has some conceptual language. I have a very difficult class for those who have never learned Spanish before. But fortunately, teachers and classmates are very friendly. When you need help, teachers and classmates will not only help you, but also encourage you to feel great warmth. In the classroom, it is a grouping model. It is about seven or eight people. Everyone doesn't know each other and they are different grades, but they still care for each other. Every time before class, students will ask each other about their current situation and life. The interesting things happening in it are very kind. The pace of the teacher’s class is very relaxed. It doesn’t feel like a rigid lesson. Instead, I have experienced two hours of fun time with my classmates and teachers. I will play games together, eat together, put a movie, and do it together. Practice...etc. Learning while playing is the most special place in this class. I still remember that I really can't keep up with the pace of the course, but every time I do it, I am very careful and serious, and each time I spend a lot of time to complete the homework. The teacher also gave a lot of help and concern because she knew that we were exchange students from other countries. This Spanish-language elementary course also allowed me to learn a lot of interesting knowledge that I had never thought of. For example, some of the terms in Spanish are actually similar to English, but the spelling is very special, the Spanish language structure, the position of the verb nouns, etc. are completely different from the language we have studied. The most interesting thing is that I never thought about the original name and gender. It is really special, and it takes a lot of time to learn a course. I did learn a lot in this course. (343字)

(三)生活環境

LA is a really great place to live in, which is convenient with a car and full of all kinds of things. Compared with most of the big cities, LA citizens are all friendly to foreigners, which contained many imported products that are easy to satisfy the necessities of daily life. In all, I’m really enjoying the life here in all aspects. The best memories are created everyday since I've arrived. Also, the weather in LA is perfect to me, you can always wake by the sun, and you can feel a breeze when you walk on the street. CSULB is such a pretty school and also very broad. I remember that I need to take 5-10 minutes to walk to my next class， but I think it is not like a university, it feels more like a high school. There are two dinning hall in the school, which have a variety of foods, such as Chinese food, Japanese food, American food, Greek food, etc. Not only that, but the school also has two swimming pools for students to attend classes and practice. The most famous architecture CSULB is the Pyramid Stadium! The stadium is dedicated to the school's team practice and competition, is a famous landmark, very beautiful. When you want to exercise, the gym equipment in the school is also very complete, there are indoor courts, indoor playgrounds, all fitness equipment, shower room, etc., as long as students can use it for free! (四)自我成長

During the year , There are many bad things and a lot of good things happen. The things and problems I learned and faced in my life far exceeded what I learned in college. From the beginning to the United States, the contract of the house was out of order, and the landlord rushed me out without any preparation. On the day of the school freshman training, I really didn't know where to go with my luggage. Later, after finally finding a place to settle down, there was a problem with the bank. Studying abroad, the problem of the bank is equal to breaking all your economic sources, and it took a lot of time to communicate with the bank and finally ended. In addition to these, almost all the problems in life have come across, and nothing has been smooth. For me, when no one can help you in a completely unfamiliar place, how helpless that feeling is. Fortunately, I met some friends later. They handled this with me. Next to me, I also looked and learned how to deal with one thing in the United States, how to communicate and coordinate. Gradually to the end, I can basically solve any problem independently. I think that the most I learned this year is not the knowledge of the course, but how to live, learn how to really go to independence, and face all the difficulties in life. After all, I also believe that no matter how bad the situation is, as long as you can be strong, there must be hope, whether it is sent by someone from heaven, or there will be a solution that can be solved. If you are not good at begging, you will become more proficient in learning and be responsible for your own affairs in the future. (303字)

(五)大三出國建議

After I have experienced this year, who want to come to LA don’t need to worry too much about unfamiliar diet. La is a place where many different cultures are gathered. You can find all kinds of places here. Basically, food and clothing do not need to worry. It is the traffic and safety issues to be aware of. Because California is very large, even a restaurant takes about ten minutes. The nearest supermarket takes about 7 minutes, so I strongly recommend that you have a driver's license before you come. In addition, the road is wide and the weather is very good all year round, making it a very suitable place to live. Basically you can find anything in Los Angeles. But when dealing with anything, learn to fight for your rights. The United States is a place where guns are flooding, and you can see police are arresting a person anywhere, so whether you are looking for a house or playing outside, you need to pay more attention to your own safety.(174字)

(六)其他

There're so many great places in the US, if you want to come to the US, go somewhere to travel when vacation, both take a flight to the other side of the US or doing the road trip are good experience.(41字)
