The class that I love the most is English Composition.Through out this trimester, I learned more about not only English but also about the importance of reviewing and revising. There are three main things that I learned this semester, which are the importance of referencing, team work, and structuring my essays. I am going to about these in details in the following essay. The first thing I learned is referencing. Referencing is to give credit to the person or people who have done the research. It is very important not to plagiarize because it is like stealing other people’s work and ideas. If you want to use other people’s ideas make sure to reference it. In this class, I learned Harvard references, I know how to references books, journals, and reports. All this will help me a lot in my future studies. The second thing I learn in this class is team work. The first thing is to choose your teammates wisely. You will need someone who will do his own tasks on his own, not asking others to help him/her do his part together. Therefore, it is very important to be on time for your group meeting time. For example, one of our teammate wants to meet at 13:00 PM, but he turned up 40 minutes late. This is a very bad example for being a teammate. Moreover, when we were having a discussion on WhatsApp and tell him to do his part on PPT online, he literally ignored it. And on the next day, he say tell us that he did not saw any link and done nothing, but in fact everyone in the group see the link and did all of the work. The next day be start to blame one of our teammate. From the above we now know how to prevent from becoming a bad teammate. And all of this is a part of teamwork. You still have to carry the whole team if they are not willing to do anything. The third thing I learned is structuring essays. It is very important to make everything clear inside when you write. Having topic sentences lets the reader clearly know what a paragraph is about. List all the details clearly and having a conclusion at the end of an essay. Good structure make a essay looks more professional, and it is easier to read. This is something I learned from the past few years and have master now in this class. In short, all three things I have learned in this class will help me in my future learning. I believe I can use all these techniques even when I graduate from university. English class was very helpful! (454字)

(三)生活環境

Emirates academy is not a really big University, but the facility here are fairly complete. The dormitory here is some thing outstanding compare to school on Taiwan. Every student here have a single room equip with washroom and cooking facility. Basic amenities were also provided from the school. Also catteries, pan, and pot were also provided inside the kitchen. In short word, this could be a five star hotel compare to other school. There is also a blue mart near the dorm. Within five minutes you can reach the supermarket. You can find all the daily necessary in Blue mart. There were also restaurant near by. The prize are quite cheap. It is around 20 to 50 diharm. Laundry is on the same floor of the room so it is quite convenient. They also provide room service but is cost money. By the way there is also a pool in the public area. There is also a buffet open by school but it is only for launch and cost 40 per person. The time we arrive Dubai is quite humid, but when it reach October the weather it start to get cold. And the air conditioner here were very strong, so jacket were needed when you were entering a mall. It took about 10 minute for a taxi to reach Mall of Emirate. There is no metro station nearby so in order to travel we always call uber or taxi. All the fine restaurant here were prizy and some of it does not taste like it worth the prize. (255字)

(四)自我成長

Dubai is quite a different country compare to all other democratic country such as USA and Canada. In here you need to respect their culture because it is a Muslim country. There law are base on religious practice and all the locals were Muslim. You can see Mosque every where and people praying at night. It is wise if you do some research before entering a Muslim country. For example, pork were all ban in Muslim country which is a common thing seen in Asian society. They are very different from us, but when you are in there country you better follow their laws. Alcohol were also ban, unless you went to bar or you have a license for that. You can be arrested if you are drinking in the street or public areas. In Dubai, it is very important to not harass women specially the locals. Here in Dubai women were well protected. They even have a women cabin inside the metro. Also if you are gay or lesbian, here in Dubai you also need to watch out because it is against their law. Most of the local were nice and willing to teach you about their culture. They are friendly and talkative. I make a few Muslim friend and they are also willing to respect our culture. So it would not be a big deal living is Dubai as a Asian. (233字)

(五)大三出國建議

When coming to a new country specially a Muslim country, it is very important to do a lot of research. The culture we had is very different compare to them. We a entering their country as a guest so showing respect is necessary. The meaning of study abroad is gaining experience by learning different culture and self management. Self discipline is very important while you are alone in different country. A Muslim country might be very different compare to other democratic country which every thing are free and you could do whatever you want. It is a country where alcohol and sex were strictly ban. When you have the chance to start your internship. Use the advantage of associates discount to experience hotels in Dubai. For example, if you are a Jumeirah employee a room that cost 1500 diahrm a night now only cost 425. We as a future new joiner of hotel industry, it is a great chance to experience some of the best hotel in the world. Dubai is a country well known for hospitality. So your resume will look good with this seven moth of internship. As a intern you must ask, learn, and work hard. It is the time to fail and learn more about this industry. Hospitality industry are not easy, it took a lot of effort to practice and study. When you join a hotel. You will find out if the job is suitable for you. So this is a great opportunity to see if you are ready or not. Take use of this advantage and enjoy the year in Dubai. (265字)
