in this semester, i had one class called everyday thinking, in this course we explore the nature of everyday thinking. Why people believe weird things, how to deal with opinion change, and why expectations and emotions skew our judgments. also, the course examine and debate topics such as subliminal persuasion, paranormal phenomena, alternative medicine, placebos and miracles. i can learn how to evaluate claims, understand why people consistently make the same kinds of "irrational" mistakes, and how to make better decisions. i really like this class, though it is difficult for me and has a lot of new knowledge i did not know.In this course, the purpose is trying to provide with the tools to be able to improve my everyday thinking. Towards the end of this course, i need to think about what i can do to make the world smarter, more rational, less superstitious.seeing what's broken and exactly what i can do to fix it. the assignment and the weekly tests are quite challenging, but i strongly recommend it! another class i recommend is Principles of Tourism, Hospitality & Events, the instructor is very interesting i really like the way she teaches. the course provides an understanding of Tourism, Hospitality and Events as separate fields of study and the interrelationship between them all. It looks at the role of them in society, its involvement with industry and government and its impact on the environment. the class is pretty easy but useful. (244字)

the campus of uq is really huge and i often get lost in the couple of first week, but now i am getting used to it. there are a lot of student from different countries in my campus, especially Chinese. Queensland is one of the most beautiful and relaxed states in Australia. It has one of the world's most agreeable climates, with an average 300 days of the year consisting of clear blue skies and warm temperatures.i pretty like the weather here, it is not too humid and hot during summer, plus, it is quite chill here during winter. what is more, you can have variety of choices of food, but i do not like the asian food here, so i always cook by myself instead of dine out. also, cloth and food price are pretty high here.Life in Brisbane is not as fast paced as Sydney or Melbourne. In this city, there is definitely a focus on lifestyle. Activity is often centered on or around the river or bay side areas and every year the Brisbane Festival or RiverFest which includes the famous Riverfire. there are a lot of activities on the weekends, my friends do enjoy the market that held every saturday, i like to go there to buy vegetable. it is cheap and fresh and students' first option to save money!!(225字)

【照片說明:the gym i went to 】

when i arrived at brisbane, i felt so excited and nervous as well. to my surprise, people here are so friendly and nice, but this semester, i feel much more pressure during the class, because i found out that students here are so hardworking and they are so active in the class. sometime, i am scared of speaking, i am afraid of making mistakes or they do not understand me because of my accent. then, i realize, i overthinking and in fact they respect everyone and willing to help me. i also go to local gym 6 days a week and make a lot of friends. i reckon exercise is one of the best way for me to release my pressure. I think the most difficult part to deal with is i feel homesick a lot, moving away for university is a big transition, I've come from the other side of the world. when i suffering from homesickness, just keep reminding myself that i certainly not the only one. i have noticed that isolating yourself will make my feelings more intense, as i will spend even more time thinking about what you miss from home.so i try to make myself as busy as i can, for example, i find a part time job. when i do not have class on tuesday and wednesday, i go to work so i get another chance to speak with people to increase my speaking skill, in the meantime, i do not have much time to overthink. (五)大三出國建議

i think study abroad is a great opportunity to stay away from your comfort zone. you need to be brave and active, otherwise no one will not just come by and help you. the university of queensland is a really good uni that students there are competitive, be prepared!and of course, you'll learn even more if you make local friends. They're experts in their own culture and will be able to explain all the crazy little questions you have. And if they're a truly good friend, they'll pull you aside and tell you if you're unwittingly doing something offensive or weird.Study abroad isn't all weekend getaways and late night parties. It's a challenge, an introduction to a new culture, and an emotional roller coaster at times. However, it's one worth taking because you are different from other and trust me, it will be the most unforgettable year during your college life! My advice would be to not have any expectations. In my experience, I set so many expectations before I went, based on my limited perspective of what I was really getting myself into. You’ll quickly realize that the majority of your expectations become limitations. There’s so much more the world has to offer, than what you’ve seen from your front door. Every day is going to give you the opportunity to set expectations while you’re in your host country; sights to see, things to do, friends to make–it’s all going to unfold in a way you could have never expected! I studied with a few friends who didn’t get the full experience, because it wasn’t what they expected it to be, and they ended up disappointing themselves. If you’re going to expect anything, expect to have an adventure.(300字)
