To me my favorite course and which I learned the most is Food and Beverage Operations. In this course, the most special part is William Angliss do actually offer a restaurant for us to handle. This restaurant does open for outside customers so basically we were learning and working at the same time. At first, every student including me, have no idea how to serve customers because we have no experience at all, no clue about what kind of food we serve, the manager (student will take turns to learn how to become a manger) was panic because it was his first try, everything seems impossible and that day was our very first class. It was upset and depressed that day but somehow was kind of fun. It felt like an adventure, to me I just do what I got to do and try my best to satisfy customers. After couple of weeks we learned about the brand of wine, the taste of cocktails and mocktails, how we serve customers professionally, how to make coffee, how to carry 3 plates at the same time, how kitchen works, hygiene, how to become a manager to run a restaurant...and so on. We had more confidence and profession on serving. It is true that we can learn really really fast during the work. Kylie, who was our teacher, did encourage us a lot and gave us lots of useful feed backs to improve ourselves. She always told us that we need to be proactive to our customers and be precise, stay sharp and look around to see if any customers need anything or ready to take their orders. I can guarantee that most of the cases and knowledge I learned from practical class in William Angliss restaurant can perfectly and smoothly transfer into my current workplace. I do really appreciated of all things I learned in William Angliss.(315字)

(三)生活環境

I lived in Melbourne CBD, the address is 288 Spencer street which is right next to our campus, William Angliss Institute. There is Coles (supermarket) downstairs of my house, trams and trains also nearby. It takes only 3-5 minutes on foot. Very convenient and I do love my neighborhood. Shopping center restaurants are everywhere, I can go shopping and do whatever I want when I am off-duty. However, the price of the house rent can be very terrifying. 1200 AUD per month only including Wi-Fi. It is expensive but I can still handle it with my little salary. The weather here is nice but sometimes it just too windy. The sun shines beautifully most of the days and the temperature is dry and cool, which is pretty nice for living. One small disadvantage is that the winter here is too long. I remembered that I was about to bring out all the summer clothes from my luggage and the weather become cooler and cooler. The summer time was like lasting several weeks and it turned into autumn, which is kind of sad. There are lots and lots of Asians living in Melbourne CBD so the restaurants and other shops over here can be really oriental. There is nothing I cannot get used to it since I moved to city. Basically the food was bad if compared to Taiwan’s, but the price is acceptable. The transportation here is really convenient, we got free tram zones which means you don’t have to pay for traveling in the city. There is train stations all over the city which can bring you wherever you like outside the city. Basically Melbourne is a pretty good place for living. I kind of love it.(288字)

(四)自我成長

Since I first arrived in Melbourne until now, basically there was nothing that I really can’t handle it. If you can speak basic English, you can definitely solve eighty-percent of the problems you face. As I said, there are lots of Asians over here so I think most of the people can get used to it easily. I think the biggest surprise I face is the people over here. Different from Taiwan, there are many races over here, you can meet different kinds of people like Chinese people, black people, Malaysian, and many many. This broaden my horizons because I have never living in such environment before. I think I is a pretty cool experience for me. Because the more people you see you will understand more about humanity and find out there is still some happiness happening somewhere in the world. As for my learning environment, the only problem is my English ability, sometimes it is hard for me to understand what professor is trying to say. So sometimes I have to stay and asked questions, especially assignments, after the class. Except from this, the campus is nice, resources are rich, teachers are friendly, the location is convenient everything is all good. Some people might felt regret about the school they chose during study abroad, but I didn’t. I am happy about it because the life here is brilliant and the most important thing is we can do internships here! During this year I only spent around 55,000 NTD including my tuition fee. My job salary can cover all my living expenses. I see this this as my biggest reward.(272字)

Work hard and play hard. That was ChienMu said but it is very true. For the learning part, you cannot use the way you learn in Lanyang to learn in Willaim Angliss. You will definitely fail. The students here are not that much so the professor will remember who you are, which means don’t drop class too often. Study hard and make good use of time. The quicker you finish your duty the more time you can spend to discover Melbourne or even other places. REMEMBER, William Angliss do fail students, don’t test their limits. When you are about to find a job or internship opportunities, try to find it earlier because it is not that easy to get a job here. Don’t miss any chance, the more resume you give the higher chance you can get a job. It may lose hope sometimes but never give up on finding internships. Because interns do enhance your working abilities a lot and the most important part is you can earn some pocket money! If it is possible try to find jobs from other cities as well, don’t limit yourself too much, some sacrifice is necessary which can make you grow and even good for your life. As for living part, if you decide to move your house, be aware of some fraud. Liars and weird people are everywhere in Melbourne take good care of yourself. Never let go any chance to have fun in here, there are tons of attractions, theme parks, shopping centers waiting for you to enjoy, make your year a worthy and memorable year.(270字)
