2018大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

When I am going to be a third year student, I went to Dubai and studied hospitality of management in Emirate Academy. In my study abroad program, I took four courses. Including Food and beverage, beginner Arabic, front office and English writing. Afterward, I got an internship in Burj Al Arab that it was a seven star hotel in the world.(61字)

My favorite course is "Beginner Arabic" in Emirate Academy. During the class, my teacher Christiane, she always had good smile and serious attitude to taught all of students in the class. During the class, she have excellent teaching experiences and rich material. I received wonderful presentation from her and she always make me grow when I say: Arabic is a difficult language. She have patience and beautiful accent. I still remember that I was fail to pass the first exam, Christiane didn't gave me any punishments and curse. On the contrary, she is teaching grammar and phonics one a one to one basis to me. I was impressed by her conscientious and careful. Furthermore, the teacher took us to local museum and have experiences in Mosque. How fascinating is it. Moreover, in order to students have high interested in speaking Arabic, she brought every student to Arabic restaurant. Students introduce the specific food; afterwards, we can enjoy mouth-watering food and have nice chat to each other. These extra activities give me good effects to learn Arabic. In my opinions, it is necessary to have a nice teacher to inspire you or give you correct suggestion when we are a student. Because motivation is core of study and make us progress. A good teacher can point out problems directly without doubt. To simply, they help us to learn right thing and do thing right. And I was so lucky that learn something special in Arabic class, teacher Christiane concern my learning process more than individual grade. To be honest, Arabic is still a difficult language to me, but I always stay high interested to learning because of a work-hard teacher. To conclusion, this course make me have high impression and break away from conventions. It is worth to think about the different between "learning and "studying". And I got the answer: my teacher try to told me: learn something you want and do property in your life.(326字)

(三)生活環境

I lived in the campus which are located the coast and near by downtown. Overall, the transportation was supported by taxi, metro and bus. To be honest, I usually take taxi more than others mass transportation because metro and bus are not comprehensive. In my campus, there are gym, tennis court, basketball court and have a small swimming pool. Speaking of food, in this country, it was imported 95% products from every other countries in the world. I enjoyed that I can buy everything from Carrefour or supermarket. However, the food price are three times as higher as our country. Dubai is a desert country that seldom rain. I have to wear suit and have 4~5 hours class in every weekday. Especially, I am nearly melting at a scorching summer afternoon. Although the weather is serve, I own a wonderful room to comfort me. I can cooked by myself and have shower in personal room. Base on equipment, nothing can complain in my room. However, I don't like Arabic food when I lived in Dubai after one month. Arabic food doesn't have pork and seldom have vegetable or soup. They like to eat pancake and hummus. Also, beverage only provide Soda, Cola, Fanta and so on. It hard to have Chinese food and bubble milk tea in Dubai. To conclude, Dubai is a new city that only exist 30 years history.It is still a developing city and has extreme disparity between the poor and the rich. In term of conditions, its not a food city but a "Tourism" and "Shopping" paradise.(259字)

(四)自我成長

In my opinions, I face the most challenge that is speaking English all day. For me, it not easy to express daily detail when I chat to foreigner or deal with all of problems. Furthermore, I have no experiences to have a speech in the class when I study in Lanyang campus. Also, foreign teacher always ask me to thinking and debate the questions which are difficult to me. At the beginning, I was kinds of hate to discuss questions and do report during the class. But I overcome the challenges due to my friendly classmates. They make me grow and I try to understand how it was important to do change in my attitude.“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”, said by Neale Donald Walsch. Speaking of culture, many Muslim lived in Dubai and they do praying at everyday. The most important is Ramadan that happens in May to July at every year. For example, they can't drink and eat food from 5a.m to 7p.m. in everyday. According to their religion, everyone have to follow rules. For non-Muslim, we could not drink and eat in front of Muslim and it was according to the laws. It is very fresh to me and I get different experiences about exotic culture. To conclude, I see the utterly different life in Dubai and have positive impact on me. Last one but not least, when I travel in Abu Dhabi, only one thing I can do: riding a camel in desert and explore mosque culture.(257字)

(五)大三出國建議

As far as I am concerned, I would like to share my daily experiences to you.There are three main suggestions. First of all, We have to speak English or local languages to communicate other people. Why is this the most important issue in Study Abroad Program? Try to think about that we have a lot of leisure time to make friends, explore international city, experiences foreign culture. If you desire a good social life and have wonderful experiences in your third year, make sure improving your language skill and have positive attitude to face any challenges. Secondly, don't be afraid to share your ideals and always ask question in your life. Once we go study abroad, we only can rely on ourselves. So we better to clearly about any situations and problems. For example, the safe problems are always concerned by our parents. Make sure you rent a safe location and high quality accommodation cause you will live for one year long in that country. Thirdly, get some information from your older schoolmates. If you interested in Dubai, I will give you specific opinions about internship or daily detail life.Taking myself for instances, I have five times interviews experiences before I got an internship in Burj Al Arab. I would share you specific hotel you should't go for work because less salary and long working time. Schoolmates had previous working experiences in different hotel, after that, you deserve better choices and wont regret. Finally, prepare cooking ability and adjust your mood to explore foreign city.(257字)

(六)其他

During the holidays, my classmates and I went to Safari which was a desert camp. I have a special experiences through riding a camel and smoke hookah. (27字)
