2018大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

In my junior year, I chose to study abroad at the University of Sunderland, in United Kingdom. Sunderland is in the northeast coast of England. Adjacent to Newcastle City (approximately 30 minutes by Metro Metro), one of the few seaside cities in the UK. University of Sunderland has many modules for tourism department that can provide us to choose. Therefore, I chose five courses on tourism in University of Sunderland. For the tourism department who interest in this department, it is a great choice to learn more about tourism.(88字)

(二)課程學習

In the module of fundamental of tourism, leisure and Hospitality, we have two classes a week. Usually, the professor will discharge the module guide at the first class. The syllabus for each week is not continuous. However, first lecture in every week professor will tell us the theory and professor will divide into group at the second class. The group report method is carried out. The most impressive subject in this course is interest tourism. There are many kinds of interest tourism. Some people like take the bath is called spa tourism, people who like to experience different food, called food tourism. The interest tourism is mean people who have common interest for travel. The professor asked us to have an interest tourism in each group and to report on it. Our group chose Ugly Food Festival in Iceland, a festival full of all kinds of strange foods, such as sheep head, whale pill, blood tofu and so on. Thought this teaching method, the professor let us do our own research, and then make posters, and explain the notice on the spot, so that I can learn the knowledge on the course and try to use it immediately. Let students enter the situation faster. Not only that, we have more than two fried trip teachings in each class, and through practical operations, we can better comprehend.(226字)

(三)生活環境

There are three campuses in the University of Sunderland. One is the city center, and st peter, last one is in London. For the Department of Tourism, our courses are all on the st peter campus. In the first two months, I chose the dormitory of the college to live and experience the accommodation life in the United Kingdom. After that, I rent apartment for two rooms, two bathrooms and a living room, called echo building. There is a shopping mall, and big supermarket, TESCO, 5 minutes away from the accommodation. Due to Sunderland is one of the few seaside cities in the UK, there are many seafood in the area, the price is very cheap and affordable, and we have become friends with the boss because of the frequent visits. There is also a Newcastle city 30 minutes’ drive from Sunderland, where there are more malls and restaurant, also have China town. Sunderland is in the northeast of England, the temperature is low, about 25 degrees in summer and about 0 degrees in winter. (171字)

Due to Sunderland's location is northeast of the UK, the locals' resident had a heavy accent. At that time, even the simplest sentence, “Do you need a bag?” even a simple sentence had to be heard more than two times to understand, but as the life of the day is long, I will get used to their accent. The living habits of British locals and Taiwanese are very similar. Older people like to get up early and gather in the mall to chat. Students like to go to the mall after class, but their children like to do nails and have their ears pierced pierce, etc., are quite amazing for me. Europeans like to drink, whether it is in the morning or at noon, on the subway or in the bus, wherever they can become a place to drink. I have experienced stereotypes in the UK and Germany. For example, foreigners think that our Asians have very small eyes. They like to see Asians when they are on the subway. They are more gestures than our small eyes. They like to see Asians like the gesture of small eyes when they are on the subway. Perhaps in their perception, Asians are stereotypes of small eyes. However, most of the people are very friendly. Even so, you should be careful of the suspicious people on the road. Not only adults but also children should pay attention. They are all professionally trained to know how to steal the passenger's valuables, so absolutely be careful. Living in Europe, there are many opportunities to travel to different countries, most people will feel that spending a lot of money in Europe, this is not the case, as long as the early planning can spend a small amount of money to experience different cultures. Because of this, I can travel all over Europe, experience different life, and feel different humanities. (314字)

(五)大三出國建議

Sunderland University is a good choice for students who want to progress their major in tourism. Although we can not directly internships in UK, we still need to go back to Taiwan to find another hotel internship, but this is a different experience. It is very worthwhile to experience the opportunity of British university students. If you want to travel around Europe through the third year of the year, the UK is also a great choice. Despite the fact that the United Kingdom is an island and travels to other European countries need to take the airline. There are many cheap flights in the UK, such as Ryanair, easyJet, etc. Tickets are very cheap. I once bought a ticket for £40 in Switzerland. It is cheaper than a student to take a FlixBus from Germany, and it is more time-saving. As long as you buy early and plan, you can save a lot of money. At University of Sunderland, I need to take 120 credits a year, and I will take about three courses a semester, so I don't have to worry about that can not handle the course. A course usually can transfer the five credits in TKU. Mid-term and final exams are conducted in the form of written tests, reports, and presentations. It is not difficult to prepare for it. There are many holidays or reading weeks in the UK, so you can plan these holidays and enrich the year. This is a great opportunity for you to experience different cultures and experience a lot that you can't experience in Taiwan.While experiencing different cultures, we must also pay attention to our own safety. The law and order in Europe is still relatively bad compared to Taiwan. The leather bag must be closed and not opened.(296字)
