2018大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

2018 August 1st, I set my feet on the land of freedom, the United States, stayed at the city of angels, Los Angeles, Long Beach, I studied at a magnificent campus, California State University Long Beach. It's my first time staying at the states, it was better than I expected, the people were pretty friendly and felt that we are always welcomed, the school is resourceful, if you need anything, the school will have what you it. Beside go studying, we also went to many places, like Vegas, Golden City, Seattle, Texas, and cities at east coast, overall it was a 10/10 experience.(101字)

(二)課程學習

There are many classes that I attended, and all of them are mega fun, I learned a lot from not only the teachers, also my classmates, they are easy to get along with, and have a great sense of humor, they stand an important role to my learning this year. Beyond all the classes, my favorite one is the acting class, it is my favorite class because, the teacher was very enthusiastic, she taught us how to concentrate on the task in front of us, and always have many feedback after you done an exercise , no matter positive or negative, they are all very precious. On the very first class, teacher told us to go on the stage and do a quick introduction and show some of your talent, I was very nervous at that time, but after seeing that everyone were so heart opened, it made me a lot better and have much more confident to myself on stage. And after some classes, she told us to work in groups and do some scenarios that the teacher randomly gave us, that was pretty fun, because you have to trust your group and do whatever it take to make this scene Oscar worthy. Our midterm project is to make an music video, but by doing live on stage in front of the class instead of record one, our group decided to make a scene about "Staying Alive", our team nailed the project and we were all satisfied to our result, but not only we do a fantastic job, all of the groups in our class did it extraordinarily. What is so cool about this class, is that you get to have the chance to watch some shows like opera and musical, opera isn't my taste, but musical is one of a kind, we watched cabaret, which is about between 1929-1930 in Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, it focuses on the nightlife, and revolves around American writer and his relationship with English cabaret performer. Overall it is the best class I have attended.(345字)

(三)生活環境

We rented an apartment which is nearby Cal State Long Beach with my friends. There is a bus stop in front of our house and it usually took about ten to fifteen minutes to school. There are also some stores around our apartment such as restaurant, pharmacy and supermarkets. It is convenient to buy food and daily necessities for us. There are many different bus routes provided to those who don't have cars. The whole campus contains several areas including dorms, cafeteria, classrooms and some fun places where students can take a break and play some games there. It is a huge campus for me. It took me much time to walk from one side to another side. The classrooms and facilities in this campus are in very good conditions. Students can use new computers to finish their assignments. The photocopy system is efficient. We can get our copies immediately and the procedure is easy. The library provides not only books and information students need when studying or doing assignment but clean and great study areas which let students discuss and review the class together. The weather in LA is dry and sunny. It seldom rains. Sunny days are throughout the year. The sun is bright and weather is very comfortable. I think the weather in Taiwan can't stand a chance to beat LA. It is hot but not too scorching. There are many different types of restaurants in LA, and they are all really awesome. As I knew, it is difficult to find Chinese restaurants or other Asian dishes in some states or people need to drive far to arrive Asian restaurants. As for traffic, there are a lot of car in LA. The highway is usually crowded, so you need to be careful when driving because you may crash the front cars if don't attention to the traffic. People from west coast are much more passionate than people from east coast. They would greet you energetically, and sometimes they talk a lot to you when you order your meal or buying something. I love this kind of mode between people. To sum this up, I Love LA. (359字)

(四)自我成長

Staying in the United States is a difficult task for me and for all my friends, we all have to used to the life there to fit in. In the beginning, we all suffers to know the culture and the how things run of our surroundings. We bought a car after we arrived Los Angeles, it was a 2013 Mazda 3 hatchback, we thought the car was good, but after a week, some problems started to show up, one of them is the front right tire went flat due to a small crack from the rim, and unfortunately, the lug nuts need a specific key to remove it, but we didn't get that key with the car, so we have to find a way to remove it, we searched for help all across Long Beach, and finally after 2 weeks of searching, we finally find a shop to remove it, the only way is force it out, after the nugs are out, the tears almost drop from my eyes. The other difficulty is that I often receive mail from DMV(Department of Motor Vehicles), that the car hasn't been registered, but I don't understand, because when I buy the car, the dealer told me that I don't have to do anything, they will take care of all the paper works, so that's what I do. After months, here comes a mail from DMV, it said that the car that I bought hasn't been registered and need to be done or I'll get more additional fees, so I went to DMV and register, that cost us 200USD to register. After all of this, I think that I have to be more careful and be well prepared before I plan to do something, or no good things will happen on me.(296字)

(五)大三出國建議

My suggestion is that work hard and play hard. Studying abroad is a chance in a lifetime for us because we can study and travel together during this year. We basically don't have too much pressure on our academic. It doesn't mean that we don't need to study. We still have to be responsible for our own academic but we don't have many courses and assignment. We can make good advantage of the resources in the campus. They will help us a lot during this year. Also, trying to go everywhere to experience different scenery, culture and food in foreign countries. It can help us to broaden our horizon and make us different from someone who doesn't go out in the future. Take the United States for example, people and their accent are different in every state. People in West Coast are more kind and passionate, but who in East Coast are indifference and they talk more quickly. So, don't waste time when living in a special and different country. Don't forget the study when traveling and enjoying the life there, too. "Word hard, play hard" is really important for us. Some people don't care about their units or assignment but I have to say that if you miss some assignment in your class, you would not pass that course because many instructors care assignment they give us very much. They think handing in assignment on time is kind of sincerity. It means that you put efforts on your assignment and course. Therefore, when enjoying the life abroad, don't forget to keep studying. The environment and resources in foreign university are really more complete and perfect than university in Taiwan, so cherishing everything and the short life abroad in this year.(291字)
