(二)課程學習

【照片說明：The view of the art studio】

If you want me to choose which course I mostly like, I would like to say it is the Introduction of Drawing class in Winona State University.Although I don't like the voice from the professor which was soft and dull, besides the techniques he taught seemed not so abundant because of the style of his teaching tended to be like chatting style.However I have to say it is really meaningful for a student such like me who always want to explore the art field.It is the critical start for me to take a peep at the great view of the art in front of the gate. The course trained me pretty well for my sketching skills by how to handle the pencil when you are drawing, how to control the line weight and adding the value of the tone. It is really worth for me to have this class because I've got the great improvement since I was a rookie who only got the rough skill to draw the picture until becoming a person who can gradually draw more and more portrait from several objects and some artworks.Except for the lecture, the professor was still friendly to all of students. I rather felt the professor was like the grandpa who always plays the basketball with you when you're visiting the basketball court. The most impressive things for me is the course was been taken at the art studio, there was a of statue, easel and drawing horse, which placed on the ground cadually making me feel the place is rich of the soul from artists.(269字)

(三)生活環境

The place I dwell in Winona was a old-fashioned hostel. The closet reveals the history, and the sharing bathroom was a little bit shabby. It seems that there is a beast hides in the toilet, whenever I flush the toilet , it creates a loud noise. Despite those disadvantages, the distance from my apartment was quite close to the school, so it is still fair to live in. It is unknown that I always keep the memory in mind when I firstly came into my dorm, the smell of the old carpet and the noisy A.C makes me throw back to that time even if I have come back to Taiwan for three month. The environment in the campus is relaxing as well. The building was built by the red bricks some of them looks new, some of them shows the old-school looking, some of them of them looks majestic, and some of them was fully grew up by the vine. In the evening, It is enjoyable to walk on the school's avenue built up bu the white stone, surrounded by the chilly air, and see the leaves reflecting the yellowy street lights. I earlier heard of people in our country refers the Minnesota as a north wasteland of United States, because of the winter in that States. Despite people may felt the snow as a nightmare, however the pure, white snow is the precious memory for the teenager from the tropical island when I was in Winona, because the fallen snow becomes my good accompany through the winter. Each time I was taking the bus, I was always watching the endless field and pine tree covered by the snow. This is just my impression to Winona- a little bit silent, but it's beautiful. (294字)

(四)自我成長

To be honest, I'd like to say it was the time management. In fact most of the Taiwanese student wouldn't choose the harder level of the courses, in that case the difficulty was rather easier than I thought. The problem is the amount of the homework would be greater than the Lanyang campus in Taiwan! As I am the student who always lived alone most of the time. To develop a good living habit is too important for me. For the assignment prospect, it is the better way to digest small piece of your work each day. Sadly, I still can't have this habit about my assignment, however, those pressure from them let me start to learn how to be responsible for my academy. Especially I am the person who always stay alone. You cant' always wish someone who help your homework, you can't wake up very late and rush to your class room in your hometown college either because the professor would concern it. Besides everyone may also struggle in the English class as well, most of the time you need to study by yourself to figure out the answer. In conclusion I would say studying abroad is just the beginning for me to be independent. Additionally, I think to adapt the English teaching environment is also a big challenge for me to absorb the knowledge on the class because each professor will speak within the different pace and accent. But it is good chance to practice your English listening, so make sure to open the recorder on your cellphone. (261字)

(五)大三出國建議

As the passage I mention at the last paragraph, the people you can rely on will be less and less after you went abroad. So be independent moght be your first objective. WSU is not alike the TKUL, there will be more multiple choice when it comes to the course registration, I think it is a good opportunity to try some new class for you, and you will receive some interest through those class. I recommend for junior to interact with not only your friends or classmates from your campus but also the foreigners, you can practice your English speaking and feel their kindness through keeping in touch with them. It is a hard chance to visit the western countries, make sure to find some time to travel around or explore your place where you landed. It's your own memory, but you should complete it.(145字)
