2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

I study in Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, which is in Lublin, Poland. I started my Poland life from 24th September, 2019 to 15th March,2020. The courses I chose are all related to tourism industry. They include several cultures in the world, Polish language and some computer software. (46字)

(二)課程學習

The course I like most is information technology in tourism. The teacher is Agnieszka Krzyżewska. I learn a lot of practical skills about data management. Also, I know how to create a logo and banner, which will benefit me if I want to have my own brand in the future. Besides, I can use google earth to present my planned trip to my future clients. What is more, I become more proficient in some Excel functions. Basically, what we did in this course is that the teacher gave us homework almost every week. We need to learn how to use the software by ourselves before presenting it in class. She commented on our works after presenting. Therefore, I develop the ability to learn by myself from this course. I look up information, read article, watch YouTube tutorial online. I try to practice it in order to perform well and efficiently in class. In the end of the class, I feel a sense of achievement.The style of her teaching is humorous. Many students like to take her course. After class, she is still enthusiastic in helping students to deal with the problem. Generally, you will learn something but still feel relaxed during the class. The most impressive homework is creating a banner ad. Banner ads are image-based rather than text-based and they are popular forms of website advertising. It is usually put in the official website to promote their products or show discount program. In the beginning, I think that it is too professional to make. However, I made it just after watching some tutorial videos. Learning by myself is not a easy thing but not that difficult. Overall, this course brings me to make good use of some software which can improve working efficiency. Consequently,I recommend juniors to take this course. (304字)

(三)生活環境

I study in Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, which is located in Lublin, Poland. Lublin is the ninth-largest city in eastern Poland. The school has nines faculties but they are not in the same area. Some faculties are close to old town. Some of them are a little far away from the city center. The faculty I study is earth sciences and spatial management. It is about fifteen minutes walking distance from our dormitory to the faculty. It is about twenty minutes walking distance from the dormitory to city center. Art faculty is in the same area with earth science and spatial management so there are some aesthetic sculptures in the grass. My faculty is one around three-floor building. There is one convenient store and restaurant inside. In terms of dormitory, it is an eight- floor building. Generally, four people share the same kitchen, toilet, bathroom and washing machine. Toilet and bathroom are separate. Two people share same bedroom. My roommate comes from Romania. The other flat mates come from Italy and Taiwan. It is very convenient to live here because it is just five minutes walking distance to the supermarket. We have many restaurants to choose such as pizza, dumpling and Chinese cuisine, Thai cuisine. Also, it is very close to post office and ATM. In Poland, people tend to cook rather than eat out unlike Taiwan. Hence, I usually buy vegetables and grocery every Saturday because all supermarkets close on Sunday under the policy. Polish food culture is quite different from Taiwan. Pizza, cafe, dumpling spaghetti, bread are everywhere. (260字)

(四)自我成長

In the period of studying abroad, I encounter many difficulties. They can be categorized into two groups. They are school life and daily life. For the former, I feel confused about a lot of many things such as where the faculty is, what time each class starts and how to apply to the school for student card. Fortunately, the above questions are solved after meeting with our coordinator. More importantly, I learned that we do not need to feel shy to ask others, in fact, most of people are very willing to help us. For the latter, the first problem would be opening an account and buying a SIM card. I mainly take online information as reference to decide which one is the best service provider. The mother tongue in Poland is Polish language not English so the school offers polish language class for international students to teach us some simple words which are enough to live well in Poland. When it comes to food, I spent around two months to get used to it. Originally, I dislike Polish bread that is chewy not tender. But I really miss Polish bread now. Besides, it is very surprising for me that they use sour cream as dumpling sauce not soy sauce. Sour cream is also used in their soup and spaghetti. However, there are some Polish styles of living I like. For instance, apps of most banks provide service of buying bus ticket. Therefore, I only need to use app to buy it instead of swiping cards when getting on and off public buses. (263字)

(五)大三出國建議

Before going to Poland for study, applying for visa is necessary. There are two things juniors need to take care of. The first thing is that people had better prepare travel plan for visa office if you want to stay in Poland longer than two semesters. After arriving in Poland, It is highly recommended that international students apply for ESN card. This card brings a lot of advantages including getting discounts on some certain restaurants, hostels and transportation across all European countries. It takes one month to get the card after applying. Before the semester ends, you must make sure that all classes you selected have scores online. Some teachers may forget to put students' grades online, which really happened to my friend. In addition to absorbing academic knowledge, various life experience are also more precious. As long as you open your heart and have the courage to experience different things, you will have different experience and new ideas every day. In addition, the architectural style and food culture in Poland are very different from Taiwan. Under various stimuli, you will see more meaningful meaning and stories behind the surface things. In my opinion, the most wonderful time in your life might be this period of studying abroad. You have a lot of time. You will not be limited by family. You can do what you want to do and go where you like. You can learn to plan and enrich your life. What is more, you can broaden your horizon by making more foreign friends and traveling. (258字)
