(一)基本資料

The school I studied in my junior year abroad in San Francisco State University, it is located at in San Francisco, California. San Francisco is a city with a lot of Chinese, and I often hear Cantonese and Chinese on the road. In this year I took classes in English listening, reading, writing, and speaking, and we learned many skills in class. I also took courses in business and American culture. (71字)

My favorite class is business class. In the business class, I learned a lot. The reason I chose this class is that we will use business skills and information in the workplace in the future. I have learned a lot of business professional knowledge in the class. The teacher also gave us some information and play some games in the class so that we can better understand the business content. To be honest, I am not so interested in business courses, so I felt so bored at the beginning, but the teacher in this class is very interesting and very patient to explain everything to us. In addition, we have several presentations in class. Among them, I think the most interesting presentation is that the teacher divided us into groups and co-founded a company with our team members and decided on the products we want to sell, as well as innovation and let this product has our unique characteristics and attracts consumers. We must use the expertise we have learned in class to create a good product. Our group decided to sell electric skateboards and create a unique skateboard belonging to our company. In the United States, without transportation is a very troublesome thing, people mostly rely on walking or skateboarding, so we have this idea to sell the unique electric skateboards. In this group discussion, we must think of the plans, the design content, and the internal distribution of the company, to really build ourselves into a company image. I am very glad that the discussions with my team members have been very successful and interest, and that makes my classmates like the product and want to buy our products. This presentation is really smooth. In addition, in the business class, the teacher arranged a one by one interview, let us experience the future if we need an interview in the workplace, and the teacher taught us how to do it. I was nervous during the interview, but the teacher patiently told us what needs to be improved or what is done well. I think this experience can be of great help in my future interview work.(358字)

San Francisco State University is a city university. It is a very small school compared to other American universities, but our facilities are complete and people are very friendly. The school has two campuses, one of them is located in downtown, and the other campus also convenient around Stonestown, with various restaurants, shops, and department stores. In the United States, living in a school dormitory is very expensive, so many students will choose to rent a house outside. San Francisco is a very expensive city. Food, clothing, housing, and transportation are very expensive. The average housing prices are usually around 700-1200. In my experience, the house I rented is outside the school, it's about ten minutes to school if we took Uber, but it takes a lot of time to take a bus, so my roommate and I usually take Uber to school. Although it costs more money, it saves time. The weather in San Francisco is very comfortable, neither too hot nor too cold, but it often rains in winter. Although everything in San Francisco is expensive, it is also a city with a large number of Chinese, so it is relatively uncomfortable in life, and transportation and shopping are very convenient. There are many shopping places in downtown, and the attractions are also very worthwhile for sightseeing, but there are also many homeless people, so try to avoid staying there at night. San Francisco has many people from different countries, so you can also experience different national cultures besides American culture. (253字)

Studying in the U.S. was the first time I left my hometown for a long time and the first time to live alone. At first, I was scared because I was not independent enough, and I needed the help of my family and friends for many things. So when I first live in the U.S., I always want to find someone to help me when I encounter something. But we are all alone in foreign countries, no one has time to help us all the time, so we must learn to be independent. For example, learning how to go to a bank to do things by myself, to buy things by myself, or to cook a meal by myself, these are things I would not do myself before going abroad. But since I lived in the United States, I have really become very independent. I will find ways to solve problems when I encounter them, instead of just asking for help. In addition, I flew to various cities to travel and visit my friends by myself, arrange my own itinerary, book accommodation, etc. These are the things that I won't do when I was in Taiwan. I feel that I have become very independent this year and it will be very helpful for my future life. The part of the culture shock is that the guns in the United States are legalized, so we often hear about the shooting. The most impressive thing is that when I arrived in Miami, we really encountered the shooting on the highway. I'm really scared, I think this experience is really shocking and impacts me a lot. In addition, Americans have very different ideas with Asians, so it sometimes causes communication barriers. We must understand their culture and learn how to communicate and make friends with them. (五)大三出國建議

Some suggestions for people who want to come to San Francisco state. San Francisco is really an expensive city. The cost of eating outside in San Francisco was too expensive so it will take you a lot of money. In my experience, I didn’t cook when I first came to the United States, I used to eat outside last semester, after taxes and service charges, it is really very expensive, so I spent a lot of money on meals. I suggest that you go to the supermarket to buy ingredients and learn how to cook so that you can save a lot of cost of eating. In addition, I think it would be better if you could find accommodation close to the school, because students of the University of San Francisco do not need to spend money on public transportation in San Francisco, so it will also save a lot of transportation costs. If you live in Daly City, although driving is not far from the school, but it is very troublesome and takes a lot of time to transfer to the bus. If you can travel sightseeing in various cities in United States, just do it! Have a good experience of American life~ there will be no regrets, many cities in the United States are worth to visit! It is also a very good experience to participate in various activities as much as possible you can and meet various friends. Don't give up when you encounter difficulties, try to solve it, you will find that you will grow a lot this year.(264字)
