(一)基本資料

The school I have choose for studying aboard is San Francisco State University. San Francisco State University is located in California, San Francisco. I went to San Francisco at the early September in 2019 to start my one-year study aboard lesson. In the first semester of studying abroad I have studied in the language school of the SF State. The classes there is to let us improve our English abilities. And in the second semester, I have entered the SF State University. At this semester I can choose the class that I am interested in and wanted to study.(98字)

(二)課程學習

In the two semesters, I have loved the German class most. This class is very interesting, special and means a lot for me. The reason why the class is interesting is because the professor is very nice and have a lot of patient during teaching. And he is also very cool and have a lot confidence in his teaching methods. Because he uses only German to teach the class. During the class he never use English. Started from the first class he uses German. Although that might be difficult for me to understand sometimes, because I have only learned a little German before, and that is long time ago. So, I almost started learning German again. But the professor will try his best to let us know what is the meaning and what’s the thing he is teaching. For the German 101 it is the basic German. At the class we learn from pronunciations and simple dialogue. If you are the person that are interesting in learning German, I really suggest you to choose this course. Because you can learn a lot from this class. At the beginning maybe you will fell frustration because sometimes you may not understand what the teacher is saying. But you can ask the professor question during class and after class. The professor is very nice and he will answer all of your questions and try his best to let you learn will. And after one semester of learning German, your German really will improve a lot. Your German ability will have great progress. At the beginning you can’t say a lot of German sentences and you don’t know a lot of German words. But after one semester of learning, you can read German article and you can have a conversation with other people. This is really a class I love a lot.(310字)

(三)生活環境

San Francisco State University is a lovely school. And it has two campus, one of it is in the downtown area and the other one is also near downtown and this is the main campus of the SF State, and also the place where I study during this year. At the main campus there have lawn at the center of the school. There are usually many students spending their free time there, chatting, doing homework, eating something or just lie down and bask. And the school transportation is also very convenient, in front of the school there are a lot of bus station and muni station. So, it is very convenient for you to go to every other place. And the place where I live this year is not in school dormitory, I have rent a house near the school. I take the bus to school every day. And the commute time is about fifteen to twenty minutes. The place where I live is also very good. There have kitchen and all the things you may need during your life. And the landlord is also a nice person. San Francisco has a Mediterranean climate, the weather is usually cool, but not too humid. For me I think the weather there is very nice, because it seldom rain and won’t be too hot. San Francisco's life function is very high, there have a lot of shops everywhere, so it is convenient to shop or buy ingredients. You won’t worried about buying things. (253字)

(四)自我成長

At the beginning, I was afraid that the teaching methods in the US would make me feel uncomfortable, because the teaching way may have a lot of different then Taiwan. But after the class started, I find out that it might be different then Taiwan but it won’t made me felt uncomfortable. The class in US usually have a lot of group discussion and the teacher will give us a lot of time to share our own idea. At first, I felt shy for sharing my idea but after a while, I adapted to this kind of teaching style. The other thing that I am afraid before I went to US is the Racial discrimination. Because I have heard a lot of people said that the Racial discrimination problem is a very serious problem there. But after I went to US, I find out that San Francisco is a very ethnically friendly area, the people here is very nice. People here will not have a different view of people with different skin colors, nor will they discriminate against homosexuality. They even have a block for homosexual communities. The thing that shock me a lot is that San Francisco often has campus security incidents. From time to time, we receive messages from the school that there are gunmen, suspected explosives, or gangsters on campus. Students should be careful to avoid going to those areas. At the first time I got the message I was very shock because I never thought that these things would really happen. But I got used to it after several times. (265字)

(五)大三出國建議

For the people who are going to or want to go to study at San Francisco state university. I really suggest you to come. This place is a very nice place. And I suggest that you do not need to bring too much thing to US. Because most of the thing you think that you might need to use you won’t really use it. For me, I have brought a lot of pharmaceutical, at the beginning I think that I will use them. But at the end lot of the pharmaceutical I haven’t use, lot of them I even didn’t open. And about the food, I also suggest that you do not need to bring too much. Because the shop here are very convenient you can buy the food when you need them, and it will be the food that were fresh. Also is you want to by some Taiwanese food you can by in the Chinese Supermarket. So, you don’t need to be afraid that you can’t buy the thing or food you want. But there is one thing that I will suggest you to bring to US if you often use contact lens. If you do use contact lens often you need to remember to bring them to US. Because in US buying contact lens might be difficult. There are few places to sell, even if there is a sale, it seems that there must be a doctor's certificate to buy it. Anyway, don't be afraid to go abroad to study, it will be fun and you can learn a lot.(268字)
