2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

The University of Queensland is located in Brisbane of Australia, and I am studying at the St. Lucia campus. The teachers and classmates are all very nice so I have a great study life there.(35字)

(二)課程學習

One of my favorite lessons must be the Bridging English course taught by Simon. In the course, Simon teaches us reading and writing. He is always so interesting in his courses. He does n’t like to just teach the contents of the textbook, but let us use these words and skills more effectively through games and dialogues between classmates. Outside of class, he will give us various websites that we can practice and design content based on different themes every week for us to interview local. At first, the weekly interview made me very nervous, but through this extracurricular activity, I learned a lot of words used in local speaking and I also learned more about Australian culture and ways of thinking. A lot of daily homework and reading after class occupy my daily life, but my English has indeed improved a lot. I was very glad to meet Simon while studying in Australia. In his course, I learned a lot of English application skills. The activities in the class also made our classmates have a very close relationship and learn English skills from each other. All these have made my experience of studying abroad unforgettable.The other course I would recommend is global culture and tourism. The students in this class come from several countries, so in this class I can learn about culture and tourism in different countries. The professor has been to many countries, he will share with us his travel experience and the history of various countries, and will also make good use of the website to let everyone vote to know everyone's ideas. There are many levels of culture in this class, and then because of the different cultural backgrounds of the classmates, there are cultural differences. Therefore, through discussion, we can understand each other's differences and learn to respect each other.(308字)

(三)生活環境

The University of Queensland is a school full of students from various countries, so on the campus, you can often see the integration of different ethnic groups, and there is no serious racial discrimination. However, the school has many great facilities, including a library, gym, swimming pool, and space for students to discuss reports. Every Wednesday, the school has a market day where you can enjoy food from different countries and buy many different kinds of products. What impressed me the most is that the school often provides free food or drinks to students. I am really happy to study here. In addition, I live in Camphill in Brisbane, which is an area where white people live, so the community is very safe and the quality of life is very good. The living function of this community is also great. You can walk to the bus station to the school within five minutes of your home. There are also various supermarkets where you can buy food and daily necessities. The best part is that you can go shopping in a large department store in 15 minutes by bus. Furthermore, the weather is consistent in Brisbane, most of it is sunny, and there is no cold weather. It is really suitable for people who afraid of cold weather. Food from all countries can be eaten in Brisbane, buses and trains are also very convenient to go to any place you want to go, and there are various styles of clothing stores, so there is no need to worry about not finding your favorite. It is a very livable city.(267字)

(四)自我成長

When I first came to Australia, I did have a lot of problems because of the different cultural background, so for me there are many things that need to adapt. First of all, Brisbane is large and has a small population, so there are no street lights in many places, so I should go home before night or the sky is dark to avoid danger. Moreover, Australia ’s lifestyle is very early, restaurants and shops are usually closed early, which is very troublesome for me because I’m late for leaving school, so if I want to buy things, I have to get up early on holidays to buy, this force me to develop a regular life. Then, the thing that bothers me most is the Australian bus because it does not display the station name, so I have to look at google map to know when to get off. This is a challenge for me who is not familiar with google map. However, this made me learn to use google map now accurately. Furthermore, I am not a native speaker, so when eating in a restaurant, I often have to look up the words on the menu to order. In order to overcome this difficulty, I will first check the specialty dishes of that restaurant on my mobile phone to reduce the order time, but after living in Australia for a period of time, after ordering again and again, I already know the names of those ingredients. In addition, studying at the University of Queensland has many daily homework, and there are also weekly tests for school courses on holidays which takes me more than one day to finish all every weekend. In order to reduce the stress of study, I distribute weekly test to daily life to have more time on weekends. In my spare time, I will participate in the activities provided by the school workshop to meet more local that is beneficial to my English improvement.(330字)

(五)大三出國建議

Studying abroad is a good opportunity to grow on your own and the best way to broaden your horizons. There may be many problems and frustrations when studying abroad, but when you overcome it, you will learn a lot of experience that you cannot learn in textbooks. These precious experiences will enhance your ability and help you in your life in the future. At first, you may worry about the inability to integrate into other ethnic groups, but I think the most important thing is to keep open-minded, and to respect and understand people from different cultural backgrounds. In addition to maintaining academic performance, it is also important to participate in school activities and experience local activities and food. School activities can help you integrate faster and adapt to local life, and also be able to meet many friends from different countries. However, when you study abroad without parental supervision, you should learn to be responsible for your life and behavior, and take good care of and enrich your life. It is only a short year to study abroad, but it will be your most memorable year because you will meet a variety of classmates, friends, and experience a different life from before.(203字)
