2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

I choose the CSULB to study abroad on August 1, 2019. It is in Long Beach, CA. Everything was fine during the trip abroad, but because of Covid-19, I have to return to Taiwan three months earlier. (35字)

(二)課程學習

Julie is my favorite teacher in CSULB. She taught me to listen and speak in the first semester. Although she is old, her enthusiasm for teaching has never diminished. Every student likes her so much. Because she is not the only kind but also having a good teaching way. Take speaking class foe example, she usually told us how to prepare our topic and how to be a well-done speaker first, then when we were presenting our project, the audience and she always gave the speaker respect, even encouraging the speaker not to be afraid, how nice she is! The thing that impressed me the most is that I prepared for IELTS at the end of November last year. I asked her privately if she can help me practice English so that I won’t be so nervous during the exam. She promised me without saying anything. I appreciate it! During those two-week lunch breaks, I always arrived in the classroom early, and she was already waiting for me in the classroom. Every day we use half an hour to practice and make progress again and again. From the beginning, I was afraid to speak English, but then I spoke English fluently. Thanks to her help, I was able to overcome this language. The teachers in CSULB are very patient with the students. The teaching methods are also very interesting. Even in special festivals, they always bring us some candies and even hold some activities to let us experience the local culture. Whether it is CSULB teachers or friends from other different countries, I still miss them. In this school, it not only let me understand the various culture, making many friends but also learning English in a good environment. I hope that one day I will be able to come back to class again!(305字)

(三)生活環境

The reason why I love California is the weather. No matter it is in summer or winter, the weather is always nice. In my memory, it was seldom raining there. One day, I went on a road trip with my friends. We went to a national park and stayed there from the evening to the nights, also saw the beautiful sunset and awesome stars. On Christmas eve, we even went there to celebrate. We lived in an air-steam, which was a camping car we found on Airbnb and it was well appointed in that car. It is really interesting and unique. Besides, the other reason why I love the US is their personality. Americans are always energetic and out-going. They almost smiled with people, greeted each other, although they did not know who the people is. Take my own experience, for example, one day when I went jogging in the morning, some neighbors were greeting me. Actually, in our country, people seldom do that as they only greet their friends or someone they know. Moreover, the shopping mall was a paradise for women. Many famous brands were quite cheap. I wasted a lot of money there. All of the above reasons, I think if I have an opportunity to go back there, I will accomplish many other things I haven’t finished, such as going to Disneyland and going to Playground which is a famous dancing class in LA. Finally, I’m so glad that I have the chance to study here. (252字)

(四)自我成長

For me, what needs to overcome in the United States defiantly is food. Because the food here is very oily and large. Whenever I see Taiwanese food or hot pot, I was particularly excited. Choosing the all-you-can-eat buffet will be a good deal than others for me. Therefore, I was really missing and proud of Taiwanese snacks and dishes. Because no matter what time is it, there were many stores still opening, but it won’t have happened in America. However, because of the expensive price or the heavy flavor food, I started to learn cooking by myself. Sometimes when I went to my friend’s house, I cooked for them and also prepared breakfast for them. I felt so happy with their praising. For the reasons given above, becoming fatter has already been a nightmare for me. Moreover, the traffic may be the other things we have to overcome. Transportation in the US was not convenient. It was not as easy as Taiwan’s. Also, some buses were dirty and there were much homeless sleeping there. It was not safe if a female taking the transportaton at night. Therefore, I usually took Uber. But I was fortunate because my friends had a car. Actually, it was a pleasure that I could meet them and became good friends. If I didn’t know them, I thought my life in America must be boring. Thanks to their accompany, we had not only many memories, but also set up a great relationship. (250字)

(五)大三出國建議

Having the opportunity to study abroad is very worthwhile. We can not only learn more about the local culture in an English environment but also learn how to do things harmoniously and figure out anything by ourselves. The significance of studying abroad is also including learning the mistakes from our life then fixed them, also exploring the world, value what we do. In different countries, encountering some difficulties cannot be avoided, therefore, we must take responsibility for all our actions. Despite cultural conflicts or language barriers, we should be braver and dare to improve the resolution, adjust our mentality, and keep learning anytime. A year sounds like a long time, but it is very fast, especially when studying abroad. However, things are unpredictable, such as Covid-19, it caused people dead and impacted the whole world, thus, what we should do is to grasp the moment and cherish everything we have. Besides, managing finance is the most important thing. It cannot deny that some brands in the US are cheaper than Taiwan’s. And there were many sales on a special day. If you don’t manage your money well, you’ll probably become poor soon. As for the food, I think CA has already been the region with the most Asians. There are also several Asian supermarkets or the Korean market. It’s convenient for us to buy what we want to eat. Moreover, in the group, we should learn how to be friendly and treat people well, and don’t be a person that everyone hates because that is not good for you! (264字)
