2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

I studied at Temple University located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Exchange for two semester from 2019 Fall to 2020 Spring. (17字)

(二)課程學習

During the time of studying aboard I mainly choose the classes more interesting. Such as, drawing class, photography, marketing, acting class, etc. The most interesting class would definitely be acting class. I will definitely recommend you guys take this kind of class at foreign country. Compare with the acting class in our home school it is ten times more interesting. We didn't got a big class, there is only twelve people in our class. In the very beginning we do ice breaking and knowing each other better. With the time goes by we start to act we practice to do monologue , we also try to act like thunder, jelly fish, bubble gum. More specifically we are knowing the feeling and the emotion of the object or the situation and try to mimic it and use your own way to present it. Sometimes all of use also got the same part of the plays and same role but un the end we will all present it very differently, which is really interesting cause you will think "Wow that is really creative why didn't I think of it ?" Sometimes we also gave others opinion and practice with each other before the test, acting front of all the classmate and teacher. Teacher always give us a lot of useful opinion and always have a lot of fun games to let us learn through the game and learn faster. Due to the effect of "COVID-19" we all have to get back our home including all of my classmate, the classes started to go online including ACTING class, that is definitely a bad news to me because Taiwan got 12 hours gap between Philadelphia which means at the same time I'll have the acting class at two in the morning. Moreover I can't ask question in person and got the answer immediately, that makes the class a lot harder for me, sometimes I even sleep through the class but teacher still treat me really well and still got a great experience of the class, really appreciate the teacher, Madeleine.(343字)

(三)生活環境

I live in the student apartment which called Vantage, it's 5 minute walk away from most of the building of main campus to me it's really convenience. Moreover that apartment is the newest around the campus, The view the second best student apartment is it's the one which have cooperation with it. Sometimes they held events together. Such as, movie night, gamble night, art gallery, relax event for the student having mid term and final too. Most of the area around the school are all safe but sometimes you can still hear the ambulance and police everyday, some area are not that safe like the one I lived before Vantage, I lived at the house at the area no student around, and most of the people are not that kind based on their appearance, I know that wasn't a good thought but me and my roommate move out eventually. Ａbout eating most of the time we cook on our own, there is a supermarket called FreshGrocer, you can buy almost what you need for your daily meal but the favorite market would definitely be TradeJoes it located in city hall, you can get there by metro approximately 15 minute to get there.TraderJoes is a organic market, their fruits and veggie are all pretty fresh, if you go their you must go there for shopping. Talk about weather most of the time it's the same as Taiwan expect for winter, sometimes it snows the most troubling thing is that the wind their almost frozen your skin.(254字)

(四)自我成長

The most challenging thing to me would definitely be living in a totally new place and facing all of the new people, the culture are different, the way of the class are different, even the way of living is different. All of the things are depend on you, which is like a double edged sword, all the things are depend on you now, you can choose whatever courses you want cause you are not in any department at other country at least that is how I choose my course, at the same time you have to take the consequences, maybe you are wasting your time but that is on you too. On the other hand money, the thing that still offered by my parents, one if the big thing is that you have to be aware of your money cause it is really easy to get over your budget, and more important is that don't waste your parents money, you must have to bring something back to Taiwan. For the difficulties on courses I didn't really have a hard time, cause most of the teacher are really kind, don't hesitate to ask any question, they are all professional and enthusiastic. Including the advisor of choosing courses, no matter how many times I ask them for help they are always really patient to me. To me the biggest changing is that becoming more proactive, anything are depend on you, if you don't fight for it nothing will become yours, asking question do homework, earn rewards, etc. (255字)

(五)大三出國建議

For the advice of studying aboard I will definitely recommend you guys to study at Temple University if the money isn't a big factor to you guys because compare to other school Temple is not actually that cheap. No matter it's on tuition or on the leasing part most of the parts are more expensive. The school got a lot of activities. For example, we got Bingo night at every Friday, got relaxing type of activity around every midterm at final, also got field trip such as, bus tour for the city hall, to six flag amusement park, go ski with school, more importantly they are for more cheaper than you go there by yourself. For the courses I think there got everything you wanted compare with Tamkung University, but more importantly you have to understand what are they talking. And most of the teacher are really kind, and generous more importantly professional. One of the biggest benefit is that, it's near to New York, it only take you 2 hour by bus to get there, you can go there multiple times a semester. I will definitely recommend you celebrate New Year's Eve at time square, although I never celebrate New Year's Eve there but I personally think that is a must do Once in your life time. But my friends told me that it was a disaster because you have to be there around one or two and and you couldn't go for toilet or stores to rest for approximately ten to eleven hour. (254字)
