In this year, I took lots of classes, including the English language program, because my English level is not good enough that I didn’t achieve a standard, but thanks to this program, it lets my English level has a great progress, not only it can bring you a great progress, but also it is a most interesting class for me. ELP class has lots of activities to lead you to learn English, for instance: The teacher would take you to the public library to pick up one of the books to wrote the thoughts. They still have another activity not just stay in the classroom. It can learn the English with a happy mood. In addition, I took 18 degrees for the first semester, Winona can only take up to 18 degrees, but if you take almost 18 degrees, you’ll be a little bit tired, so I took 13 degrees at second semester. However, my major is computer science, Winona State University is very suitable for CS major, we have some choices for us, for example: Web technology, exploring creative and algorithm solving…. etc. My favorite class is web technology, because it will teach you how to make a website, and you will be proud when you make your own website, and the teacher is very nice to us, in the opposite, I think the algorithm solving is the hardest class for me, you need to follow the rules set by the teacher, and the contents is a little bit difficult, by the way, due to the corona virus, we are forced to request online lesson, so the learning effect is also slightly affected, among, we only take one class with online at second semester which is algorithm, about the others, the teacher just sent us a power point and some assignment to ask us to do them, not only I can’t hear the teacher's explanation, but also I can't practice English listening while teacher is explaining. First and foremost, the weather is quite different with our country, in our country, the temperature here is cooler than we expected. In summer, the degree range in Minnesota is almost between in 68。F 86。F, it is a comfortable weather to live in Winona, in contrast, the winter is freezing in Winona, the temperature range is between 32。F to -4。F, it will always snow in Winona, so you must prepare enough clothes if you go to Winona in winter, in last year, heavy snow often causes school to suspend the class, but we seldom happened this year. Second, we have two choices for the dormitory, first one is to live in the school’s dormitory, and combine with the meal tickets, but the price will be expensive, then the second one is to live outside, it is absolutely cheaper than live at school, you can also live with your friend together, but the defect is that the soundproof is not quite good enough, so there are pros and cons, you need to consider carefully which one is conform your requirement. Furthermore, our university is in a small town call Winona, so if you need to go to capital town in Minnesota, Minneapolis, you need to take two and a half hours, there are several ways you may choose which are take a bus, call the lyft or rent a car by yourself, then, about the urban traffic, for me, I usually ride a bike, walk or take a bus when the weather is sunny, in contrast, if the weather is snowy or freezing, I would prefer to call the lyft or Uber, it saves time but more expensive than another ways. (四)自我成長

During this years, I learn a lot how to live alone and with each other, for example: in cooking aspect, before I go abroad, I even don’t know how to cook by myself, but due to I couldn’t always buy a ready-made food for every meal, so it forced me that I need to learn how to cook. This also make me that I can cook. By the way, the biggest thing I learn during abroad is their cultures, the first thing I learned different is the people in Winona are very friendly, although we don’t even know each other, we will have greeting for each other. In contrast, we will have a greeting for each other in Taiwan, but we won’t do it to stranger. Second thing I feel different with Taiwan is the joking ways, based on everyone’s cognition, they may think Americans don’t mind too much the joking, but the experience from me is different with everyone’s cognition, last semester, we have a class call introduction to higher education, this class taught about America’s culture and living habit, in the last class, teacher asked us to write something on the bulletin board, some of my friends wrote some joke about me on it, and I don’t really care about it, I even think this is a little bit funny. After the class, the teacher returned her bulletin board, then, I got a mail from the teacher and the contents that are about the joking, she thought the contents are few serious on joking, then I just reply her I was fine on the contents, and told her this just a normal joking, just don’t be too serious, after that, I think she recognized the different culture on joking between Taiwan and America. This is just a one of an example on me, so this is the reason I think the way they joke different. (327字)

(五)大三出國建議

To compare with another university, Winona State University has a cheap tuition fees, this is a one of reason why I choose it. Then, there are still have another reasons why I chose it, first, I like the weather in Winona, in summer, it is very comfortable, in winter, although the temperature would be quite low, the lake would be freezing, but we usually saw the snow scene in whole winter, I like the snow view so much, because we can’t see this in Taiwan usually. Second, Winona is very suitable for our department, our department has been working with them for a long time, and there are few courses which can let us choose, and the instructors have a good teaching for us, the learning effect is also good, and it is easy to offset your credit to your original university. From the above points, if you conform with these, you may consider Winona State University cautiously, it deserves you to study. (164字)
