2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

Winona State University. Winona, Minneapolis. From July 2019 to March 2020. Most of the classes I've been taking is about programming. (19字)

(二)課程學習

My favorite class is beginning Japanese. The reason why I’m taking this class is the attractive of Japanese culture. I want to learn more new stuff and be able to realize Japanese. In this course, we are learning how to write, speak, listen, and read Japanese. For the writing part, we practice Japanese alphabet every class. For speaking, teacher will ask everyone to answer or read a paragraph. Sometimes we make groups to have conversation with each other’s. we also have drama performance. This part is the most interesting and most difficult part. We must make our lines, stage property, …etc. There is a lot of work for preparation but that isn’t the hardest part. For me remembering the lines is the most difficult part. It takes me twos days to complete remember those lines. The fun part is the performing on the stage although sometimes I forget the lines, but it is an unforgettable experience for me. Our teacher Mrs. Nagai is an interesting person. She always teaches us in an easy and humor way. She will tell us her own story for example. Showing video for us to have a deeper impression. Classes that I recommended are CS 101, CS 116, MCOM 100, and CS 234. CS classes are for computer science students. Lower number of the classes mean that are for beginner. So, if you are new to this subject or this class aren’t your major, these could be a nice choice for you. CS 101 is for stratch programing, it is a fun and easy class for beginner of program designing. CS116 is web designing, it is also an inspiring class. MCOM 100 is a class for basic knowledge of American mass media. And the last CS 234 is an advanced class for java. (295字)

(三)生活環境

Winona State University is a beautiful and large college. We got many departments. For example, Kryzsko Commons. The department is for social, activities, speeches, ... etc. There are also other kind of department for different use. Minnie’ Hall is for Literature major. Performing Art Center is for art major. Science Laboratory Center is for Science Major. We also got a gym. It includes many facilities such as work out area, basketball court, volleyball court, swimming pool. In Kryzsko commons, we have a dinning center. Jack Wells are the buffet for students. They provide breakfast, lunch , and dinner. There are also other several choices in Kryzsko commons. Panda express, delicious Chinese food. Chips and burger, there are also other snacks. For dorms, we've got a couple of options. Schools provide students' dorms. Those are near school but a little bit of expensive. There also other departments for students but it might be quite a distance to the school. Winona city is located at Minneapolis. It is very cold in the winter but comfort in the summer and fall. In summer and fall, the temperature will be around 20 degree Celsius. The weather is very comfort and if you want to have some outdoor activities it is the perfect time for it. For winter, it is very cold and at January it might be a storm. Transport is quiet not convenient in here. If you don’t have a car, bus might have been your problem. Foods are not quite delightful. You better cook by yourself. (252字)

(四)自我成長

It is quite inconvenient for the first time being in American. The language, weather, living habit, food. All these basic things are completely different. Time is the best result. Take your time and will slowly get used to it. In USA, students talk a lot. There are lots of communication happening and lots of tasks have to do with the team. It is whole lot of different between Taiwan. It is quite hard to get used to it at the first time but do not be afraid, try to talk to other. For a long time, you will find out that it is quite useful, and it help you think a lot. The weather in American is colder than Taiwan. When it comes to winter, storm, snows, wind are annoying. Foods are simple here. Most of them are pizza, chips, burger, … etc. If you want to have special meals, you will have to go out of town, or you can buy some ingredients for your cook. Cooking your own food is quite lots of fun though. When we arrived our dorm. We got nothing in our room, so we must get some. But the nearest Walmart are so far away, and we got no car. We asked many cars rent and we finally got one. First time taking courses in USA is new experience for me. Teachers in here are more care about your thought. We have do more talking. (240字)

(五)大三出國建議

Study hard and plays hard. Try to be concentrate on classes. Don't play with phones or chatting. Professors are very caring at this point. Better finished your homework and papers as soon as possible because there’s going to be a lot of work at the end semester. There are also many activities for during the semester. For example, sports game, a tour trip to different state, or Homecoming. It’s going to be lots of fun. Pay attention at the school website. Clubs also is a great option. There are many types of clubs. From sports to literature. They hold varieties of activities. Go travel. In USA, there is several long holidays. Travel to other state is a great choice. But make sure you are well planned it with every circumstance. Book the hotel first, check the local weather, beware of every state law. Beside travel there are some local activities at Winona town. For example, boating, hiking, snow skiing, ice skating. If you are not interested in outdoor activities, there are some activities hold by church. They provide food and drinks. You can have a great time there. If you are 21 years old, pub might be great place to go when you are bored. Many places are great for you to explore but remember safety first. (218字)
