(一)基本資料

My junior year was at Winona State University in Minnesota. I stay here for 9 months(2019.06.25-2020.03.27). Originally, I had to stay until one full year, but because of the coronavirus, I returned to Taiwan early. In here, I learned Acad Rdg/Writ II, Creative Computing, Mass Media & Society, Intro to Higher Education, Web Technology I, English for CS, Critical Thinking, Photography Appreciation, Intro Women/Gender/Sex Study, Downhill Skiing, Elem Spanish I. (二)課程學習

My favorite course in WSU is Downhill Skiing because I think it is very interesting and challenging. I think it was not only interesting, but also made me more brave. From the beginning, I just only dare to ski in the primary ski area. After a few more instructors' careful guidance, my skills became more and more proficient, and I dared to ski at higher-level ski resorts. In the last class, I also gathered my courage and took the cable car to the highest ski slope. Of course, when I was skiing at the highest level of skiing, I inevitably slipped in the snow. Although it is inevitable to be nervous and scared during the slipping process, but I think this is also a way of learning. I can learn how to ski by slipping, and I can pay more attention to the next time I ski, I can put Falling is regarded as a vigilance. This was second time that I skied in my life. The first time was in Korea. In fact, it was some time before the second skiing, so it was a little nervous at the moment of the first class at Winona University. But fortunately, once I had experience, and under the guidance of the coach, I quickly started again. In my opinion, skiing in the United States is a very common thing, because when I went to the ski resort for ski lessons, I saw many children who were many years younger than me who skied much better than me. When I was still skiing at the junior ski resort, the children had already skied at the high-end ski resort. It may be because there is no suitable place and climate for skiing in Taiwan, so I was surprised when I saw that many children are so powerful.(304字)

(三)生活環境

I love that I had chance to study in Winona State University. Although studying here is not as convenient as in a bustling city, there are supermarkets where you can buy things in a few steps, but I like it. Because the environment here is quiet and laid back, the scenery is relatively beautiful, and people are more friendly than those living in the city. I made many friends who come from different countries. Each of us will share interesting stories or lifestyle habits from our hometown. The campus of Winona State University is beautiful no matter what season it is. The school’s reading environment is also great. In the school corridors, you can see many classmates sitting on chairs or on sofas holding laptops while reading books, doing homework, or discussing content. Of course, there are special reading spaces available for Students who need quiet reading. In the spring, summer, and autumn, there are also students reading or chatting on the grass with their meals. I think this is a great way to study. In winter, because it will snow, of course no one will sit on the ground and read. Of course, don’t worry that it will be cold in the city, because the school will always turn on the heating to maintain the learning environment of the students. It is also very convenient to eat at school, because there are school restaurants that provide meals, and there are also shops downstairs to enjoy different styles of food. Of course, there are convenience supermarkets, sandwich shops, pizzerias and cafes outside the school where you can buy food. In terms of accommodation, the school provides different dormitories in different areas. Of course, there are houses rented by others outside the school. In terms of climate, I personally think that it is better to pay attention to winter, because winter must be several degrees below zero, and keep warm.(321字)

(四)自我成長

I don't think there is any particular difficulty in studying here, as long as the language problem is solved, everything will be easier to handle. Because there are students from different places in this school, these students will speak to the accent of their hometown. If there is something that is difficult to hear, you can ask them to say it again. They will be happy to explain it for you. Studying here, I think time management is very important, you must allocate learning time and other entertainment time, because it is easy to accidentally overplay. During entertainment, you can try a variety of leisure and entertainment activities, especially not experienced in Taiwan, you can go to feel the cultural differences between the two countries. Many activities that I have not experienced in Taiwan are very interesting. You can go paddle board surfing, bowling, watching movies, skiing, ice skating, snowball fights, and making snowmen. Paddle boarding is really exciting and fun. I can feel that as long as I move a little, the whole paddle boat will shake, but after a while, when I get used to this feeling, the tension will disappear. Then, I began to enjoy the lake view on the boat, the sun shining on the lake. I like this casual feeling. Snowball fights are activities that I cannot do in Taiwan because there is no proper climate in Taiwan. One of my roommates threw a snowball at us. Then we started a snowball fight! We played until we were tired! I will keep these memories until I can't remember them. However, whenever I recall these memories, I smile unconsciously.(273字)

(五)大三出國建議

That's right, Asian students need to overcome the language and culture compartment. After overcoming the language barrier, you will find that you already have critical thinking skills, and you will never lose to foreigners. Seriously, Asian students don’t have to be afraid if they study abroad. In addition, Chinese students are not really smart! As long as you overcome language problems, you will be bombarded by exams from an early age. Asian students who are good at exams have long practiced a good job. They can get good results in a shorter reading time. They also know how to use problem-solving skills to guess questions. There are basically no problems. If you want to study abroad and work with foreigners, you must start to build a correct attitude and confidence before you go abroad. When you are abroad, you must bravely step out of your comfort zone. Self-confidence is not something that you will talk to yourself in the mirror every day. The easiest is to join a club. If you find that this group is inappropriate, you can join another one at most, without too much pressure on yourself. Many students play many clubs in Taiwan, but when they go abroad, they are afraid to step out of their life circle. Joining a community is a good first step to build self-confidence. By interacting with other people’s groups, you can better understand foreign cultures and at the same time, you can also improve your network.(248字)

(六)其他

I think that going abroad to study not only focuses on reading, but also needs some interpersonal relationships and leisure activities. Everyone should participate in extra-curricular activities, so that not only can they increase their knowledge, but also increase their social skills and make more friends from different sources.(49字)
