2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

EAHM. Dubai. 2019/09/06~2020/03/17 Totally I chose three lessons, one is English class, another is Front Office class and the other is Business class.(22字)

(二)課程學習

When I studied in EAHM, I chose three lessons, one is English class, another is Front Office class and the other is Business class. All of these are really interesting and let me learn a lot of knowledge. Such as Front Office class, I think that this lesson is really special to everyone because we didn’t try to operate this kind of program before when we stayed in Taiwan. In this class, our teacher Ms. Loanna taught us how to do the room reservations for the guests and how to make the cashiering reports and also how to do check-in or check-out and so on. All of those programs are very complicated so that I felt a little bit frustrated at the beginning. Then, for me, I like English class the most. Our English teacher Ms. Donna is the most kindly teacher when I stayed in Dubai. Every time her words can let me feel warm and want to rely on her in this foreign country. She always encourages us to ask questions or sharing our opinions. She had said, “Do not feel afraid of everything, just be yourselves and try your best, then you will on the right track.” In this class, we had to write an essay and then read it in front of our classmates every week. I think that Ms. Donna wants to train us to be more courageous by this assignment. In addition, we also had the other two important projects, one tested our creative ability and another is team debate. The former is a team report, we need to generate a concept that might be feasible in the hospitality, tourism, events, or F&B sectors in Dubai and that is something not currently in place. At last, our team chose to combine healthy food and food truck, we planned to promote this idea in Dubai. Through this project, it lets me learn about the new trend of this industry and if I am an employer, what else can I do to make my project well-known. The latter is a difficult task to me because I am not good at debating with other people, fortunately, my team members are friendly. While we were discussing, they also taught me the methods of debate and the skills of reporting. In sum up, I really recommend this lesson, in this class, not only can I learn the skills of writing essays, improving conversations but I learn how to get along with people and the knowledge from each other.(421字)

(三)生活環境

I remembered that at the beginning we took some time when we arrived at EAHM because our school is far from the city and Dubai airport. Beside our school only have a lot of cottages and the nearest supermarket or shopping mall needs more than ten or fifteen minutes by walking. Our campus is excellent, there are outdoor swimming pool, gym and pool room, moreover, our library is also wonderful, there are many meeting rooms and private study rooms so that all of the students can go to discuss the reports in the meeting rooms, by the way, the atmosphere of private study rooms can let people be concentrated. Then, I like our dormitory because we can live alone in one room, it is good for no need to care about someone, I can do whatever I want just like I can watch TV or play the music or sleep at any time. Furthermore, we often cooked by ourselves because it was easier than going out to have a meal so we went to Carrefour to buy the ingredients from time to time. In my memory, the weather in Dubai is too hot every day so let me just want to stay in the house. Every time before I went out, I must wear sunscreen because I was afraid of getting tanned. In Dubai, the taxi fee is a little bit expensive, however, sometimes we met the good drivers, and may spend less money at that time. And I found that all of the bus stations had air conditioner inside, it was really amazing, no matter when the bus came, people can stay inside and wait for the bus.(279字)

(四)自我成長

This was my first time for leaving my parents to study abroad and finish the internship for a long time. Studying abroad is my dream so that I always expect to do it. However, while the day for going to Dubai gradually came, I felt sad because once I depart then I might not meet my parents for more than six months. I remembered that despite my mood was not good, I still wanted to be optimistic to my friends and parents so I depressed my feeling until I arrived at our dormitory. In the beginning, I was busy for adapting the lessons and daily life in Dubai, and I still felt fresh to everything at that time. Nevertheless, this kind of delighted day was ended soon because I had to finish many assignments and reports in the period of midterm and final exam so I felt crumble and then even cried. Especially, the business class report that made me crazy, I needed to create a new project about the hospitality industry and wrote a three thousand words report. It was a challenge to me because I never tried to write three thousand words report before and even needed to include many professional knowledges. As a result, I finished one part every day, then gradually done it, moreover, I called to my parents frequently. As long as I talked to them, I felt more comfortable and relaxed. I think that maybe talk to someone is the way to overcome my pressure.(251字)

(五)大三出國建議

By this study abroad experience, all of us learn a lot no matter learn from the lessons’ of EAHM or the knowledge of internship. For example, some of my classmates didn’t know how to cook before, however, through this time that we lived alone in one room so they gradually started to cook by themselves. Then, in a foreign country, all of us needed to take care of each other, but, not everyone was considerate so that we might find who was selfish. To me, the first three months in EAHM, it was a little bit difficult, the period of that time I was worried about the projects or the assignments, in spite of being stressed, I never felt regretful. I learn that how to be patient to other people, and when I am in a group how do I share my opinion to others, moreover, being brave and being good at conversation is an important thing. And the rest a few months did the internship in Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, it was a valuable experience. I always thought that I was really lucky to meet my leaders and colleagues because all of them were so friendly. Because of my leaders, I not only learned the knowledge of being hostess, waitress but also learned the type of coffee and how to make it. Through this internship, some of my classmates find that they don’t like this job, they feel exhausted and don’t like to serve someone, but to me, I like it although some time is too busy. Once I finished a task and saw the smile from the guest, and I felt a sense of accomplishment.(284字)
