2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

My name is Chia Yu Lin. During my junior abroad year I chose university of Long Beach which is located in United State of America. I went to California State University Long Beach on August 16th. (36字)

(二)課程學習

I studied in American language institute program. First day of the class, we took a test and they will divided you in a suitable level based on your score. The class stared at 9:00 AM every day. Form Monday to Thursday, our class ended at 2:50 p.m.On Friday, we only have one class for reading and writing so our class ended at noon. For me, the difficulty in the course is nothing more than language. Because of my English’s grammar is not good, so my paper or homework, sometimes have many basic mistake. I’m very grateful my professor and my classmate so patient to me, everyone will listen carefully even you didn’t say very clear. They will explain it until I fully understand. Besides reading, writing, listening and grammar ALI have enrichment class." enrichment class" means you can choose the class you interested in and school will provide you different choice for instance like business English, pronunciation,TOEFL practice etc. The most interested to me is business English. The teacher will teach every students about basic business terms and let you know the importance of business information. What impressed me most was that how to making knowledge a cornerstone of your business. I would recommend business English.In addition, studying in ALI can make a lot of friends my classmates were all come from different countries; Argentina, Japan, Iran,Vietnam, Korean; consequently, our only common language is English, we have to use English, as a result, my English ability has approved. In short, studying in ALI is an exciting and worthy things. Because I can immerse myself in learning English and strength my English in terms. At least I want to say if you have a chance to take the IELTS test or TOELF test don’t miss your opportunity. Or if you pretty sure you have enough credits, you can stay to study in ALI. (319字)

(三)生活環境

Long Beach is very quiet and safe, and is a great place to study. In Southern California sunsets is so beautiful in the winter. The weather here is so nice that I would love to live here forever. The people here are nice and friendly, and they don’t hesitate to help you and teach you. The campus is pretty big and attractive, and there is a grassland where students can stay for lunch and nap. Transportation out here around this area isn't very convenient but the bus. the bus and school shuttle is an only transportation that I can take to school or Long beach downtown. I lived in apartment with my friends near the CSULB. The distance from our place to university is about five minutes by a car. Also when you walk out of the door, there is a bus station in front of the apartment. It’s very convenient to go to school. The supermarket is nearby the house. You will learn how to cook after this year. It is also a great time for you to improve your cooking skills because I cook almost every meal in here.To be honest, I don’t like to eat fast foods so I cook by myself or cook with my roommate. We usually invite some friends to eat the dinner together in our apartment. This is my first time to live outside with my friends. I really enjoy everything here ! I want to thank to my roommate. Thank you for all of the times you have taken care of me (and been like a mother). No matter what time of day, you are always there for me. I am so lucky to have you in my life. (290字)

(四)自我成長

Among this one year in CSULB, I also spent some time in traveling, on my perspective, we should put the emphasis evenly on study and entertainment when we allocated our daily life. Often the best moment are not planned but instead happen when we least expect it. What I get this year is that the ability of English is getting better. We have English teaching environment on langyang campus, while it’s totally different from living in America. English is almost the only language we can communicate with others. We have to use it and improve ourselves in daily life. The reason I love Long Beach so much is people here are very kind and always be patience to everybody. Their life style is leisurely and pleased. In CSULB have a very comfortable and happy environment to learn English. Me and my classmates were like family, we studied English together without pressure because our English abilities are at the same level. I want to share on Thanksgiving holiday I returned to Tennessee visit my American friends, memories started flooding in my mind. That marked the starting point of my American dream. I can’t believe that period of the time can make me little dream come true. Finally I want to say life is short, don’t miss opportunities to see all the beauty in the world. Throughout our lives, people have thought that because we keep traveling and searching for new things to do, we are not focused. They have often thought we are flaky or unfocused. But travel helped us find our purpose and put focus into our lives. The more we got lost in our travels, the richer our lives became. (284字)

(五)大三出國建議

For my point of view, I will recommend Long Beach to other student because it is really a nice place for studying. But I got to say learn how to cook and how to drive a car. For living around here in Long Beach the important thing is you need to buy a car. If you don't have a car you just like no foot. For me, I am a lucky girl. I really appreciated by my friends as well as my roommate. I travel around during the weekend with my friends. My friend have a car so we can go everywhere you want. As I say the transportation is worse right here. You go anywhere you need a car and this is the most convenient way to shorten the distance. The cost of eating outside in Long Beach was too expensive and some student can’t afford to eat every meal outside. If you want to save money, you can try to cook at home and packed lunch box to school. Study abroad is not easy and sometimes situation could be cruel but it is good chance become mature and more independent to solve problems by yourself. Don’t forget you need to make sure that you can get the credits during your junior abroad year. I would say you can’t control everything in your life don’t waste your time. Whenever you go, go with your heart. Study abroad can find yourself. And traveling can open your mind. In your life be bold enough to go somewhere. (260字)
