2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

I chose to go to the University of Warsaw in my junior year. It's located in warsaw, Poland. Warsaw is the capital city of Poland, at the same time is a city perfect for living. Due to the COVID_19, most of my courses in the second semester were canceled, but I still had some interesting courses in the first one. For example, discourse in the media, visual literacy, new trends in PR theory and practice, and so on. (78字)

(二)課程學習

One of my favorite courses is the interpretation of journalistic photographs and the professor is Joanna Szylko-Kwas. I always interested in journalisms and photography, though I'm studying tourism at a university in Taiwan. The class is teaching us how to read a photo. Before the class, I never pay so much attention to a single photo, most of the time I just take a glance. However, there might have a lot go story behind the picture that's why we have so many photography competitions all around the world. We discussed a lot of examples from the world press photo competition. The professors would pick one famous picture and leading us to discuss what can we find in the picture. You can know the background history from small details in the picture or what the photographer tries to focus on the lighting is used. There is the main reason I like this class is because I can have a lot of interaction with other classmates. Most of the time, we all discuss the photo together and sometimes we would divide into small groups that can see through the pictures more closely. Rather than sitting still and just listening to the professors for two hours, discussing with classmates is a more interesting way and you can practice what had learned in the class. In the final report, we all have to choose a picture of our country and analysis it and present it to the class. Through this report, I can learn a lot of little cultural differences or stories by the presentation that my classmates made. (265字)

(三)生活環境

The University of Warsaw is located in the area of Warsaw and closed to the old town. It has a different campus in the city I have my courses on the main campus which is located in downtown. University is also famous for its architecture. Due to WWII, most of their buildings are re-built after the war and looks like the skyscrapers we have in Taiwan. However, the building in this area was mostly re-built into medieval architecture, so it's quite special. Even more, it becomes a tourist attraction in the most enchanting area in warsaw. When it comes to the Warsaw tourism attraction, you will always find the university of warsaw library on the list. I didn't in the dormitory, I rent a flat near my college. The location is perfect, restaurants, drug stores, there is even a big park nearby, the most important is only three minutes' walk to the school. Moreover, the presidential palace is right next to my apartment, I can see a lot of parades from my window which is a very special experience for me. When it comes to convenience, I have to mention this. In warsaw, you pay in card nearly everywhere you go, even it's a small coffee stand on the road. This is convenient for me because the currency in Poland is zloty rather than the euro. If you can pay by card, you don't have to exchange the money all the time and all you need is your cellphone and you're ready to go out. The weather in Poland is very comfortable in the spring and summer. The temperature is barely higher than 30. Very different from Taiwan, people used to sit outside when the weather is good. They like to enjoy the sun and the breeze because of this it's not that easy to find the air conditioner. Last but not least, Poland is still in continental Europe, you can travel to many countries by bus at a low price. I've traveled to Berlin by £20, though our to COVID_19, I have canceled many travel plans. (345字)

(四)自我成長

To me, the biggest challenge is to be independence and time management. The first couple of months is not that difficult for me, even though some of the polish can't speak English well but it was never an issue for me. After three months, I found that it was getting harder. When I am in Taiwan, I always stay with my friends and live at home. I always surrounded by the people I know in the environment I am familiar with. Living in a non-English speaking country by myself is a different experience. All of a sudden, I have a lot of time to stay with myself and talk to myself, more important to think. Also, I need to learn how to get myself something to do rather than just go to classes and stay home. I think it's really hard for me and I've never met this problem before because I can always hang out with friends in Taiwan as long as they are free. Through this year, I learn better of myself. It might sound nothing to others but I think it's really important to learn what kind of person I am and I'm glad I had l know a bit more now. (205字)

(五)大三出國建議

For everyone who wants to go to Warsaw as your destination, travel as much as you can. Due to the COVID_19, lots of my travel schedules were canceled which upset me. There's another one, only need to come here lightly. Do not need to bring the whole closet or bring a lot of stationery or eye contact or medicine because I know what the blog said about how inconvenient in Europe. However that's not the case in Warsaw, you can buy everything here and not expensive. Lastly, no need to worry about the language, most of the young people can speak English and the school offers polish class though polish is really difficult to learn. It's ok if everything doesn't work as I said previously, we have google translate now. To sum up, warsaw is a city perfect for living and the problems were quite easy to solve most of the time.(152字)
