My favorite professor is Tomasz Wegner, he is my Polish teacher for the second semester. Although there are still a lot of wonderful professors at the University of Warsaw that I really appreciate too, Mr. Tomasz is the most hard-working professor. In the beginning of the class, he spent much time and show patience to those who can catch up with everyone. After a few weeks when coronavirus erupted, the university decided to stop all the courses for one month. During this period, my other two courses followed the policy and stop their courses; however, Mr. Tomasz tried to use Zoom to have online courses (even he don't get extra paid for this.) Later, after one month of thinking, the university decided to use online courses for the rest of the semester. Comparing with my roommates who choose the same course but with a different professor, they had a class once a week while we had it twice a week. Moreover, almost every week we need to write pages of practices from the textbook as well as we have to create Polish dialog by ourselves and read it to others at the beginning of every class. This course is surely time-costing but what you can get is worthy. Thanks to Mr. Tomasz when I go to the supermarket to buy some ingredients for a meal or necessities for living, I can recognize those frequent-used vocabularies and always buy the things that I need correctly in the end. In conclusion, if you want to study in Poland learning Polish is very important because not much Poles speak English. In this situation having a good professor is necessary, and I will recommend Tomasz Wegner. (But for complete beginners it may be a lot of pressure because all of Polish courses are conducted in Polish instead of English.)(305字)

(三)生活環境

The University of Warsaw located in the old town in Warsaw (main campus,) and it is opposite of the Holy Cross Church (the place where rests the heart of the epic pianist Frederic Chopin.) Walking for a few minutes you can see "Polonicum," all the classrooms for a language course are here! After the classes, I always hang out with my roommates in Złote Tarasy which is about seven minutes away from the university by tram. Złote Tarasy is a big department store in the center of Warsaw. Same as Taipei Train Station, the department store, bus terminal, train station, and metro are well-combined together in this area. Most of time my roommates and I will spend our time in the Asia Market in B1. You can always find what you need in the store, such as dumplings, instant noodles, soy sauce, and tofu. About accommodations, because I am visiting student instead of exchanging student so the university can't guarantee us a dormitory. Therefore, I decided to live outside with other Taiwanese from Lanyang Campus. The rent per month is 1550 PLN (approximately 11000 NTD), utilities and Wifi included. The most important thing is that there is a tram stop in front of our house and also a bus stop nearby, it is really convenient. By the way, the landlord is really friendly, too. Last, the climate in Poland compare with Taiwan is super cold. Usually, it will start to snow at the end of November or at the beginning of December but this year not until January when the snow started to descend. In autumn the temperature is always 8 to 12 Celsius and lower than 5 Celsius in the winter. So it will be a good idea to buy some warm clothes, boots, and gloves in order to survive after winter.(300字)

(四)自我成長

In the beginning, it is really hard to adjust myself in Poland. The main challenge is the language barrier. In Poland, most of their population is composed of local Poles and Ukrainians so there is no need for them to speak English (and most of them can't speak English.) Most of the time when I need to ask for information most of them will say: "no." and then walk away indifferently unless you ask them in Polish (even you can't speak so will they still will give you a big smile and have more patience on you.) Another experience that impressed me a lot is the first time I attended my Polish language course. I remembered that day, I went to the class, sat down, and then our professor came (Ms. Dorota.) All of a sudden, she started to ask questions in Polish and asked everyone to answer. The first student who answered is a Ukrainian so she knew that the professor was asking about our name. But for me, I just can't even recognize whether my classmates were talking about a Polish vocabulary or it was just their full name. In the end, when it turns to me I can only say sorry to Ms. Dorota. With this embarrassing experience, I decided to study harder in order to catch up with my classmates (it is really hard for Asians to learn Polish.) When every time the class ends, I will always spend at least 30 minutes to review what the professor taught in the class. Moreover, I will write down the alphabets and how they pronounce on a paper and then stick the paper on the wall next to my bed. Last but not least, I'm very lucky to have a Ukrainian friend who sits next to me, sometimes we will find a nice cafe and study together, and I really appreciate her help!(314字)

(五)大三出國建議

First, follow your heart, visit the place that you want to go as soon as possible. In this year I only visited about 9 countries (thanks to coronavirus,) even now when I back to Taiwan I still feel regret. In the beginning, I think I must study first otherwise I can't play around because I am a student, and study is what I should do. So in the first semester, I choose 5 courses and 3 for the second semester. Eventually, coronavirus erupted and I was grounded in my house for almost 4 months and only with 3 courses. In my advice, I think it is better to have 4 courses each semester and make a balance between study and relaxation. Second, don't bring too many clothes or items with you. You can buy most of the things that you need in Poland if you bring too many things it will be a nightmare when you are going to package your package before you leave (especially you will have many souvenirs.) Again, because of the unexpected epidemic, Taiwan recently rejects the packages from Poland and other high risks countries. In the end, we throw away many things and put most of our clothes in the donation boxes which makes me really sad. Luckily, our landlord put our boxes in his warehouse and he said he will send our packages to us when Taiwan starts to receives packages. But if you are in a hurry you can send it by DHL; however, the price will definitely make you change your mind and throw your belongings away. Last but not least, it is quite complicated to enroll in courses in University of Warsaw. They have three ways, choose it on their USOSWeb (e.g. Management or Geography Department,) contact the professor by yourself(e.g. English Studies or Psychology Department,) and buy tokens on the token web(e.g. language and psychics courses.) It takes a lot of time to introduce and by chance I had made a PDF file to introduce how it works, so if you have any problem with this, feel free to contact me.(350字)
