2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

I go to ICHM to do the exchange student. the campus is in Adelaide, South Australia. I arrive in Australia on 2019 July 11 and start the lesson the next day. the classes I've taken are culinary, food and beverage, guest delivering, and room division. (43字)

(二)課程學習

The class I like the most is the food and beverage class. It is a very interesting class because it has a lot of knowledge of the beverage which I am very really interested. It also has some real experience in the class like making coffee and how to make cocktails. It is really fun to actually do all the stuff by yourself instead of watching videos. When it comes to making coffee, it is really frustrated at first because I never make a coffee before, everything comes out like a mess in the first class and the next thing makes me more stress is the lecture say the next class we will sell the coffee to all the staff in the campus. But luckily everything goes very well on that day. The reason I like this class very much is not only it contains a lot of knowledge that I like, but also they are really useful in the next semester’s internship especially I’ apply for the food and beverage attendant. All the thing I learn in this class are very helpful in the industry it really makes internship life goes really smooth. Knowledge is not only useful in the industry it also let me improve my life in daily life by using this knowledge to make everything looks more professional. The class brings me a lot of good memories because the lecture is really putting effort to help us understand all the things he is teaching and he is really good at telling jokes. Everything is so good during the class on the campus, the time is good and it is very relaxing in the class, so we can learn all the things in a comfortable environment. I will really suggest everyone to choose this class if they ae coming to ICHM. (305字)

(三)生活環境

The place we live in is the Regency International House, it is located at 163 Days road just beside the campus, so it is really convenient to get to the classroom in a very short time. The Regency International House provides meals every day so we don’t need to worry about what to eat every time. In the Regency International House, every four people share one big room and everyone has their own bedroom, for me it is very comfortable. The only disadvantage is there is no air conditioner in the room, so it will be really hot in the summer and what I mean really hot is like 40 degrees at night. The location of the Regency International House has a little distance from the city there are only a few buses that will take you to the city. Beside the dorm, there is a small shopping mall at a distance of 20 minutes-walk there also has a movie theater and gym nearby the shopping mall, if we have any daily needs, we will do there to solve every problem. If we don’t want to walk that long there is also an Asian market at the bus stop but the price is a little bit higher. For people like me will go to the gym, there are three gyms around the campus but there is a long distance to walk. YMCA is the first gym I go to; it has a swimming pool in it but the price is the highest and the distance is too far for a walk. The second one is Anytime Fitness; this one is the one I strongly recommend because the price is very low and it has a lot of points in Australia. (289字)

(四)自我成長

In the culinary class, I always get a lower score in the class. I think it is because I haven’t get used to the lecture’s point and I am not so active in the class. This is a serious problem for me because I am so proud of my cooking skill and I can’t stand I get this kind of low score. I was angry and sad at the moment and blame the lecture. But blaming somebody and being childish is not the way to deal with the problem. I try to find out the lecture’s scoring point and push myself to talk more in class, I even force myself to wake up very early in the morning to go to the class earlier than all of the classmates to help the lecture to prepare the class. In the beginning, it really has a cultural shock in the class because everything in the class is so different from Taiwan, it needs a little time to adapt to the new environment and the new way of the education style. Overall, this year I fell I have grown up very much and I can face all the problems and solve them on my own. I think the key point to face the problem in other countries and deal with the cultural shock is to use the way they use and think in their way. Try to be like them then everything will be easy to solve and try to use their way to live it will be a very good experience to have a different lifestyle then Taiwan.(270字)

(五)大三出國建議

For those people who want to come to ICHM for the exchange student for one year, Adelaide is a very nice place to study so it is no need to be too nervous. In your baggage you may need more thick clothes because the time you arrive in Adelaide is the worst weather in the whole year, it is rainy and cold at that time. But luckily there will be someone who will take you to the dorm and help you with the check-in process. The first day is all done you can have a good sleep in your room or go out to have a little walk. Everything for the school will be sent to the email, so please check the email when you have time. School life is easy you don’t need to be worry too much the only thing you have to worry about is the assignment, it doesn’t like the one we have in Taiwan, so make sure to get it done earlier as you can. After all, strongly suggest you get an international driving license if you can because in the mid-break or other breaks you can rent the car and go on a wonderful road trip and make a lot of great memories. The last thing to remind, although Australia is not a dangerous country, still be careful don’t walk alone in the night because you don’t want to struggle with the people who are drunk at night. After all, enjoy your life in Adelaide and hope you like it. (260字)

(六)其他

in the break, we have a road trip to Ulruru by driving all the way from Adelaide. it is a long journey but it is also very fun. Before you go make sure you design the trip carefully because it is all desert around you and no signal, so you have to be aware of that before you go. (59字)
