2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

The school that I decided to choose for my study abroad is EAHM which located in Dubai. To talk about my school life, I studied at EAHM from 6th September 2019 to 12th December 2019. In this trimester, I took four courses which are Front Office Operations, Beginner’s French, Housekeeping Operations, and English Composition and Rhetoric. As for my internship, I received an offer letter of employment as an intern at the Front Office Department from Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in October and started the internship from 5th January 2020 to 21st March 2020. This year due to Covid-19, so we finished the internship and back to Taiwan as soon as possible. That would be another unforgettable memory that happened in my life. (119字)

As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect”. Speaking of my favorites course is English Composition and Rhetoric (ENGL 102), there are many benefits that I gained from taking this class. On the one hand, there are three objectives that I understood during these three months of taking this course. On the other hand, this kind of experience let me realized how the importance of learning and practicing English also how to enhance the concept of my mind. To be honest, the reason why I chose the course is to gain my English strength ability. The most important situation that I want to address is having a chance to express my thinking on the same topics and communicating with other classmates without being afraid in the very beginning. In addition to Chinese, English is one of the languages that most people use around the world. It is said that English is also a popular way to express and understand someone in need. Talking about my practicing process. First of all, don’t be afraid to speak to classmates and friends, sometimes they just like a teacher helping you when you are in need. Once, I try my best to have a short discussion with classmates who are from other countries. At the beginning of this semester that I want to have a chance to express my thinking on the same topics and communicating with other classmates, but I afraid to do so. Based on the presence of the essay and creativity presentation, and I’m getting better to speak with each other foreigners without nervous and anxiety feelings during that period. Second, incorporate English into our daily life. To take an instance, in today’s society, English virtually becomes mainstream. However, everyone doesn’t deny this fact and agree with this thing. For example, the different country’s people go to visit the other country. Most of them are usually speak English to communicate with each other. The reason why everyone speaks English instead of another language is a convenient way to know some information from foreigners. However, it can show how is importance on practicing English speaking skills. The third objective of my points is that learning and operating the skills to organize the essay. Until this week, although I can’t write reports quickly and correctly. At least I did the parts of reviewing on the textbook and opening my mind finding some important news or sources on the Internet website which I need to use in each project that I gain my English strength ability on reading the articles. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect”. I think it realizes how important that practice is! Do more practice to enhance our lacking ability. Under the trade of globalization, English becomes the best bridge to communicate with people who come from all over the world. To let us more quickly to connect with global and don’t feel strange. In our daily life, we can also accumulate student’s abilities and the fluency of expression to eliminate the fear of a second language and a situation of afraid of speaking English. Meanwhile, because of using English in class, students will more positive to enhance their ability in this regard to improve our strength. In conclusion, those objectives that I would like to realize when I am finished with ENGL102. (559字)

(三)生活環境

The academy is located right in front of Burj Al Arab, which is the most famous and luxurious seven-stars hotel in the world. Fortunately, I can see the different views and light effects of BAA day and night from the window of my room. However, although the academy is quite small, even smaller than the Lanyang campus. Don't worry, the equipment is very complete. There are gymnasium, swimming pool, library, lounge, which make us have many options to relax after class. In terms of transportation, there are bus stations and metro stations nearby, so the construction of public transportation is very similar to Taipei City. For me, it is a very familiar and used mode of transportation. During the weekend, people often use the taxiway to visit the largest Carrefour shopping supplies or various famous scenic spots in Dubai. For example, go to the Dubail Mall which is the biggest mall in the world, go to visit Atlantis, Dubai Frame, Souk, and so on. During the festival, the Taiwanese will also gather for dinner, play games, and chat together. So I spent three months in a safe and interesting school life. During the winter vacation, we also work together to plan a two-day tour to Abu Dhabi, or go to desert safari to experience the different and special cultural activities and also taste the cuisine, go to the Burj Khalifah to see fireworks to celebrate the new year together.(239字)

(四)自我成長

In this new year, I become a new intern at Jumeirah Group! Generally speaking, according to the contract, I belonged to the Front Office Department of Jumeirah Creekside Hotel (JCH) for six months. However, due to these reasons, the group of the Human Resource Department asked us to assist the Chinese guests that I could get to work in three hotels respectively to have some special experience at the Guest Relation Team at Jumeirah Al Naseem (JAN) and Al Mahara at Burj Al Arab (BAA). Therefore, my first month of an internship is at JAN and BAA. AMWAY (安利) is a huge Direct Marketing Company group from China, to provide the best service and offer the high quality to guests when they staying with Jumeirah. During this period of time, my responsibility is to establish a good relationship with them at the Guest Relation Team. The daily duty including greeting, solve the problems they happened in the rooms and assist them to communicate with foreigners or hotels, just like a bridge to contact each other. Sometimes, I will work as the concierge to help guests by booking tours, making theatre and restaurant reservations, etc. All of these caring services are to let them have the feeling of making themselves at home. It also had the same situation when I worked with BAA, I did the same thing was to translate the menu to the guests who speaking Mandarin but cannot speak English to communicate with waiters, so that is my task to assist them during Chinese New Year week. Through these three months of service experience, I learned more experiences that I could not learn in class. After contact with the guests, I realize how impractical the solutions in the textbooks are. At the end of every day, I will review my performance today and think about how to correct the emergency situation. I always remember that Mr. Lokesh, the Room Division Manager at JCH. He often told me that nowadays I am an intern so I don't need to be afraid of making mistakes, because the more I do wrong, the more I learn. After entering the workplace in the future, I will not be allowed to make mistakes, and I will be required to enjoy my internship life for a few months. So far, I still remember that my colleagues will be very active and helpful to me. This is the place where I feel most relieved. (408字)

(五)大三出國建議

My first impression of Dubai is a luxury and mysterious city, at the same time it is a busy and important transmit place in the world. Once we mentioned about this city, is full of imagination. To be honest, I strongly recommend my juniors who major in ITM to choose the EAHM in Dubai for the junior year. In the beginning, I almost suspect my decision. However, if right now I have one more chance to study abroad, I will not consider other countries and still will choose Dubai one more time. Not only base on this city is famous for its hospitality and tourism industry, but also this city is composed of people all around the world. In this varies social culture, you can learn more different and heard many special stories or understand more religion that you never have any chance to deep understanding. Don’t be afraid to try anything new, all of us are still young, just step out of the comfort zone. Because you never know that any lucky things will happen in the next second. Keep a positive and curious heart and learn different new things. Take the opportunity to meet colleagues from different countries and learn about differences cultures, religions, and eating habits. Don’t be shy and afraid, just to it. In fact, during my internship that I can feel the affinity between people without regard to national boundaries. Now in retrospect, I am grateful from my heart very much cherish the people I met this time, everything makes my college life more colorful. The most important thing is to stay healthy and take care of yourself. Don't see a doctor as I do in Dubai. This experience and the number of medical examination fees will definitely be remembered for a lifetime.(300字)

(六)其他

I want to share more unforgettable memories and experiences which happened in my internship life. I can say that I am the luckiest intern in the world. In addition to meeting the richest man in Dubai in the hotel lobby, he is also the owner of Emaar Properties (伊瑪爾地產). This company is known for various large-scale projects such as developing Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. During the Tennis Championships, I also received and check- in the rooms for them. the world’s well-known tennis players, including Su- Wei Hsieh (謝淑薇), Sister Zhan (詹詠然, 詹皓晴), the world champion, etc. This experience was something I had never dreamed of in my life. To talk about Al Naseem is one of the most important places for me in Dubai. This luxury hotel is not only where I started my internship but also the first job experience in my life. During these days, I felt the warm greetings and warm concerns of each colleague of daily. Everyone's been with me as a family and taught me a lot of things. In addition to helping me with dealing with the problems of Chinese guests, and some of them like to share life experiences with me. In the beginning, I thought I would feel boring to get up early and go to work, but after these months that I really loved every moment of working with everyone and helping guests to solve their confusion. Especially, it is my pleasure to have many friendly colleagues come from all over the world, including Spain, Italy, Egypt, Turkey, Russian, Philippines, Malaysia, India, and also Nigeria. On the other hand, there are many reasons why I can't bear to finish my internship. I will keep these unforgettable memories at my bottom of my heart. And also never forget the drama I made it during the work at the reception that whose number extension 442 is! It's the ROOMS DIVISION MANAGER and not IN-ROOM DINING!!!
