(一)基本資料

2019/07/12 I went to the University of Queensland, which is in Brisbane in Australia. My course is the first half of a year's language course, and I will enter into the official course of UQ through the examination of language course. In the university I took courses in Japanese, health and fitness and global cultures and tourism. Unfortunately, I just took the courses for three weeks, because of the Corona Virus.(70字)

My favorite class is the course of global culture and tourism. This class is mainly about understanding the cultural differences around the world and some taboos of tourism. In the first class, the teacher let us play a small game to let us know more about each other. There are many interesting questions in the game. What impresses me most is that many people inscribed Harry Potter on their favorite books, which made me have many topics to discuss with my classmates. I can't help but feel that Harry Potter's popularity is really one of the top two in the world. This game also let me know that the students in my class are from all over the world, including Japan, the United States, India, Spain, Italy and other countries. And this is also the most significant thing in this class. In the class, we can know the ideas of people from different countries. The teacher often asks us to think about some questions, and let us use an online program to answer questions, which is conducted anonymously. The teacher says that because he knows that students don't like to speak in class, he uses this method. It's very surprising and interesting for me, and it also helps students to actively express their opinions, because no one knows what your answer is, and we can also learn from each other's ideas. It's a lesson that people want to learn more about. It's a pity that I didn't finish the course and didn't know the content of the course. Although I only had the course for three weeks, it made me feel the teacher's intention and the charm of the course. If I have a chance to go back to UQ in the future, I will definitely choose this course again.(300字)

The biggest difference between foreign campuses and domestic campuses is that they cover a large area. There is a lake and a large grassland in the campus. Many activities of the school will be held on the grassland. My favorite is a small outdoor concert two days a week. Students can rest on the grass and enjoy music. On the third day of every week, the school also has a small market. I’ll go shopping with my friends when I have time. We live near the mall, but far away from the school. We live in a shared house with roommates from different countries. Sometimes we chat with roommates and share our food. It's very hot in Australia in summer. Of course, it's also in Taiwan. But the biggest difference is that the air in Australia is very dry and the ultraviolet is very strong. When you go out, you must wear sunscreen products, not only to prevent sunburn, sometimes the skin with excessive UV coefficient will be very painful, so you must do a good job of sunscreen. In Australia, there are many free, close to nature places to go, like our living expenses are relatively low, we often take the bus to run around, because the bus is quite cheap. We often go to the beach and plant garden because they don’t need entrance fee. Of course, there are also entertainment activities that cost money, such as going to an amusement park. And because it's a rare opportunity for us to go to Australia , we went to Sydney for the new year.(266字)

There are many people from different countries in Australia, but Asians account for a large proportion. We often hear Chinese when we walk on the road. There are many stores and most of them are Asian clerks, which gives people the feeling that we are still living in Taiwan. The most difficult thing for me to adapt to is the natural atmosphere, because as soon as the season changes, I will catch a cold. And I don't know if the virus in Australia is particularly strong, every cold will take a long time to recover. Another thing that I can't adapt to is food. At first, I felt very happy that there are many restaurants in different countries to choose from. But after about a month or two, I began to miss the food in my hometown, and we often cook at home. After all, the prices in Australia are very high. In fact, we didn't encounter any more troubling problems in class. The teachers and students are very friendly and willing to help us. In fact, the local people in Australia are generally friendly. On the way, we would say hello to each other if we met each other. However, after the outbreak of Corona Virus, when they saw the face of Asia or people wearing masks, they would shout Corona Virus as if we were the virus itself, which was very disappointing. I thought that there would be less racial discrimination in Australia for many people from different countries, but it was not the case.(257字)

Life in Australia is not as difficult as you think, but you really need to do a good job of sunscreen, because whether it is winter or summer, the sun in Australia is just as toxic. I think you can try to go to the University of Queensland if your score is about 5.5. Although you have to take a language course in the first half of the year, I think it's different from taking a remedial class in Taiwan. UQ's language course can make you feel your English growth. After all, sometimes you have to talk with foreigners in foreign countries, and it's forbidden to speak any language other than English in the class, Because it is a small class system, the teacher knows every student's English level and state very well. Of course, if your English level is very good, you can enter the university directly. If you just want to enjoy life abroad, I don't think UQ is the university you want. UQ is very strict about absenteeism. If your class hours do not meet the requirements, it is very likely that you will be sent back to Australia, or you may not be able to go to Australia for nearly one to two years, whether traveling or working. Queensland is also very demanding for students' performance. There will be a proficiency test every five weeks in the language school. If you listen, speak, read and write one subject that does not meet the standard, the school will ask you to give guidance after class.(257字)
