(一)基本資料

In my junior year, I went to study at CSULB in Long Beach. I studied in CSULB's language courses. It was a very fulfilling period of time and a happy and unforgettable memory.(33字)

(二)課程學習

My favorite course is the speaking/listening course by Maria. We will chat with classmates in this class to train speaking skills and listening skills. I learned a lot from this class and I also got to know many students from different countries. This class not only improved my English, but also cultivated my interest in English and deepened my enthusiasm for learning. I was too daring to communicate with others in English, which was a big test for me, but teacher Maria helped me build confidence in speaking English and also taught me to correct many small mistakes that were easy to make. Now I am more brave than before. I can easily communicate with others in English, and I no longer feel afraid. I also practiced the reporting skills in this class. Now I can make PPT and report more smoothly on stage. Previously, reporting in English made me feel very nervous, but now it is easy for me. I am very grateful to Teacher Maria for treating this class with such care. She did not give up any of the students and taught us English carefully. Thanks to her, I love English more than before. The course will also arrange a time for us to communicate with local American students. They are very kind and can teach us English. If you have any questions about homework, you can also ask them for advice. They will also introduce the local delicious restaurants or interesting places. Us, this is a very interesting lesson. The school will also arrange some fun activities for us, such as a club fair, a garden party with free pizza, and even a game that invites us to watch the NBA in LA. It is very fun and exciting. There are others near Hollywood. The observatory and the local aquarium, I participated in many activities, I think it is very worthwhile.(316字)

(三)生活環境

Long Beach is a very dreamy place. It has very good weather, cool in summer and warm in winter, and it will almost rain. Not only is law and order good, the locals are also very enthusiastic. They like the coast and beaches. It is a free-spirited city where we can be brave to be ourselves, and racial discrimination is unlikely to occur there. Everyone will tolerate each other. I live in an apartment near the school. The living functions nearby are very good. There are grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies, supermarkets, gyms, and various exotic restaurants. It only takes less than 15 minutes to get to the school by bus, and the bus stop is just outside our door. It is very convenient. The manager also takes care of us. I live there comfortably and happily. Our school’s campus is very large, and I often get lost when I first got there. The atmosphere is full of freedom, and the school also attaches great importance to internationalization, so I feel at ease inside. My favorite facility is the student center there. There are a variety of restaurants and food there, as well as pool tables, bowling alleys, and a small movie hall. Free time is good to go there to kill time. There are also shops on campus that sell various textbooks and daily necessities, but the disadvantage is that the price is a bit high, but there are many souvenirs for customers to buy.(246字)

(四)自我成長

When I first arrived in the United States, I was very scared to communicate with the locals. I often couldn't keep up with their speaking speed and occasionally couldn't understand them. So I am very grateful to those who are willing to slow down for me. The students in the language course are all from different countries. There are Japanese, Vietnamese, Arab, and Korean in our class. I am the only one from Taiwan. At first, this made me a little scared, but after a long time I found that they are not difficult to get along with. Chatting with these foreigners will not be as stressful as chatting with Americans. So this is a great way to practice English. I was lucky. During my time in the United States, I did not encounter much setbacks and cultural shocks. However, being able to communicate frequently with people of different cultures made me feel quite novel. I will observe their cultural differences and understand different ideas. The United States has a fatal shortcoming, that is, the transportation is very inconvenient, it is troublesome to go there without a car, and the prices are high, and the food is not in line with our preferences. It took me some time to adapt to the life there, but these It's not a big problem, we can overcome it with a little patience. However, because of the epidemic, the United States has become a bit dangerous. They don’t have a culture of wearing masks, and the concept of epidemic prevention is relatively backward. Therefore, we finally had to return to China early. This is a pity that I think.(276字)

(五)大三出國建議

I think being able to study abroad is a rare opportunity and we must take it well. Try to be brave to try new things and make more friends from different cultures, you can have a greater understanding of the world. Also try to get out of your comfort zone. This requires courage, but you can gain valuable experience and make yourself more independent. Traveling to different places will make you grow. Traveling is the only thing that allows you to spend money but become richer. This is a very important period in your life. You are about to graduate and enter society. This experience of going abroad may help you reshape yourself, increase your connotation, and change your vision. You should cherish this time and your understanding during this period. People and things, they will witness your transformation, and you will also have the opportunity to prove your worth. I hope you can enrich yourself this year, find new goals, make yourself breakthrough again and again, learn and face those areas you have never touched, explore a dream, and draw a blueprint for it. Exploring the unknown is a process of growth. You may fall, you may be lost, but you may also find your future direction. Going abroad is a good time to grow, so don't miss it. (220字)
