(二)課程學習

I went to Brandon University for study abroad. The reason that I choose to study in Canada is that I really like the cold and dry weather there. Moreover, I haven't been to North America before thus I think it was a good chance to explore Canada. First of all, I studied in EAP program which is English learning lesson in my first semester. It was divided four classes includes speaking, listening, writing and reading. EAP program not only enhances some practical ability but also improves us the basic knowledge. These classes start from 8:10am to 2:30pm every day in a week. Therefore, I created a good relationship with my classmates. After the class between break, we would get together and discuss the content of the class. Two of our teachers are also kind that they taught us a lot and helped us adapted to a new environment quickly. In this three months, I was gradually getting used to living abroad. Although I can't exchange the credit in EAP when I come back to Lanyang campus, I learned more than I expected. Then I took three regular courses in the second semester. There are three credits in each course thus the coursework is so hard for me. In the beginning, I was afraid that I can't understand what the professor talked about and I can't keep up with other classmates. Professors were friendly that they answered my questions carefully because I am international student and English is not my mother language. The three regular courses are Business communication, Foundational Marketing and English Literary. One of my favorite class is Foundational Marketing which I learned some basic marketing strategies in the class. Furthermore I completed a group project with my group members in the end. I observed one interesting phenomenon that most of Canadian students are study harder than students in Taiwan. They not only have a good reaction with professors but also ask questions immediately. This is what Taiwanese students need to learn. (333字)

(三)生活環境

Brandon is the second biggest city in Manitoba which is the central province in Canada. Brandon University is located in the first two cold provinces in whole Canada. Therefore, there are many national parks, forests and frozen lakes in Manitoba. For example, Riding Mountain National Park is one of famous parks. In winter, ice fishing and ice shoes are the good choice you can experience in the park. When the weather turns warm and hot, you can do camping, hiking and taking boat in summer. Many Canadian family would plan to do some outdoor activities and it's a good chance to close to nature and keep a good relationship with family. I still remember the day when I just arrived Brandon University. It was a sunny and relaxing day. However, the weather is so dry that it is really different as my country. I was going to buy some moisture lotion to smoothing my skin and in case of dry peeling on my face. After one month, I gradually adapted to the dry and cold weather in Canada. There is one great advantage that I haven't seen bugs or cockroaches there. It shocked me a lot. I lived in school's resident and have a Japanese roommate. She is so kind that we have similar habits. Resident assistant of female dormitory is a coordinator between roommates. If you get the homesick, there are many Chinese restaurant near the school. Double Happiness, Kim's restaurant and Lee's Buffet are three famous restaurant in Brandon. They all have innovative meals to treat the taste of Canadian. Therefore, it is little different as regular Chinese food.(271字)

(四)自我成長

Before I study abroad, I heard some news that Asian students would face the racial discrimination in the western countries. However, I didn't face any serious problems in Brandon University. In my opinion, Canada is a multi-ethnic country with immigrants from different countries. Therefore, people in Canada have a friendly heart, they would not to discriminate against different ethnic groups. In my school, there are many international students. Some of them have excellent grades and study at Brandon with scholarships, while some students emigrate to Canada with their families and they study in Brandon to get the Canadian identity card. As school's student, we can't do anything that hurts or discriminates others. People need to have the equal right. When I participate in activities organized by student union, I made some international students there. One girl comes from Philippines and another girl is Jamaican. They are all nice and get along well. However, I meet the culture conflict when I was in Canada. For example, Canadian mainly use knives and forks when they have meals while Asian people usually use chopstick as tableware. Canadian consider potato as their main meal and there are many kinds of potato meal in local restaurant. On the other hand, Asian countries have the rice culture and I'm familiar with rice meals. (五)大三出國建議

After eight months of study abroad, I learned and grow a lot. I become an independent person and have the ability of crisis management. They are treasure which I learned during my study abroad. If you have an idea about studying abroad, don't be afraid and put your ideas into practice. Achieving your dreams in the near future. People ’s goals will not be the same. Through running away, they learn to talk to themselves, ask themselves constantly, and then find their heart. The truth that is sought to help oneself centrifuge is closer. You ’re never wrong to do the right things. This sentence is my favorite sentence, it does not mean to blame loudly when someone sees a mistake, but not to violate Carrying the ruler in your heart, try not to do what you regret, and respect the truth that you have been pursuing and yearning for. After the exchange, through dialogue with myself, I realized that my dream has never been big. I just hope that life is not long here and life is short. You can become the kind of person you like, and love the people you love deeply and truly.(197字)
