(一)基本資料

I studied at the University of Queensland which is located in Brisbane Queensland Australia. I have been there for eight months. I arrived in Australia in July 2019 and returned to Taiwan in March 2020. I was studying at UQ language school for six months.(43字)

The language school of the University of Queensland is divided into a class of 10 weeks with teachers of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. My favorite teacher is Simon, he is nice and humorous. In his course, we are not allowed to communicate in Chinese, we can only speak English, otherwise will be fined a dollar. He always makes us learn English in a fun way. Even if he gets fined, all of his students like his class very much. One time I was very impressed. He shares his lecture and entertainment in Australia. He likes diving very much, the topic we discuss at that time feels like an adventure. This is one of my favorite topic because I am an adventurer. We share our own experiences with adventure. He is always very careful on revising our writing. Every Friday, we discuss the grammar that Asians often make mistakes. When the class ends, Simon takes us to the restaurant to eat pizza and drink beer. That is my first time drinking alcohol with a teacher and that is very memorable. In language school, I am very happy, but I have to study English almost every day. Although the language school's final exam is not too difficult, it is impossible to pass the exam without studying hard. In my opinion, teachers who teach at UQ language school are all so nice, they all teach with passion and patience to their students. The University of Queensland has a very complete system so that every student studying abroad can contact the university directly if they have any questions. If you can get directly into the normal curriculum, they also have many departments for you to choose from, and they can improve their English a lot in their language school. In language school, I was very happy, but I have to study English almost every day. Although the language school final exam is not too difficult, I did not pass it if I didn’t study hard. In my opinion, teachers who teach at UQ language school, they are so nice, passion and patience with their students. The University of Queensland has a very complete system so that every student studying abroad can contact the university directly if they have any questions. If you can get directly into the normal curriculum, they also have many departments for you to choose from, and they can improve their English a lot in their language school. The language school has many choices and classes are divided according to the degree of each person. I was living in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. When I went there, I was living at Sunnybank this district where is filled with Asians. One month later, I moved to Milton where that is near the city so the life function is convenient. I love Brisbane! I think that this city is wonderful because the weather is pretty nice and the people are also pretty good. I’m going to share some stories about Brisbane. When I went to this city and I found the church, and then I went to the “Sunnybank Church” people who in the church are so nice to me. They took me to a special party, beaches, and an unforgettable wedding. I’m a lucky girl cause I was invented the wedding although I just met them a couple of weeks. I have many memories in Australia and I also met many friends there. There are three huge shopping malls, and every week I was going there to buy some food. In fact, the restaurants in Australia are quite expensive, so I usually cook my own food. This also helps me learn how to cook. I think it is also a kind of learning. I think the trade-in Australia is more convenient than Taiwan, we just bring our phone and we can buy anything and do anything. We don’t need to bring any crash there. Although Australia has a huge place, their transportation is so convenient. People can go anywhere by bus, subway, or Uber. I really like the Australian style. If I have the chance to back there, I’ll be there to meet my friends. (402字)

When I went to Australia, was not afraid at that time I filled of curiosity and expectation about my life abroad. Day by day, I was getting closer to the important exam, which made me more and more stressed. I study hard almost every day, but I still feel very hard. Maybe it's not the foreign life I imagined, because life is full of exam life. Usually, I couldn't go out and have a good time. At that time, I was under great pressure. As a matter of fact, I didn't pass that important exam. At that time, I was very frustrated. In addition, I quarreled with my friends about some life matters. I was very sad. A person in a foreign country, no family support, I was very afraid and very frustrated. I remember when I went to the local church, I was really nervous. They spoke so fast that I couldn't catch up with them. I couldn't understand what they were saying. The life of going abroad is to adapt to one's life, but after a while, I met many friends studying abroad like me. We supported each other and we grew up together. Although I don't think life in Australia is much different from that in Taiwan, because there are too many Asians living there, the function of life is similar to that of Asia. But I still think Australia has a strong British style because they have been colonized by Britain, which makes me feel that their tone is very common. (255字)

(五)大三出國建議

My advice to the students who want to go abroad in the future is that going abroad is to increase their time management and a good opportunity to live abroad, as well as to improve their English ability. When you go abroad, you should not only get together with your original friends, but also go out and make some local friends to understand the local culture. Although the original friends are very important, because you can help each other when you are in difficulties abroad, you can also join their local communities to meet more friends from different countries when you go abroad. For example, when I went abroad, I first joined the club of UQ, and realized that many Taiwanese who had been living in Australia still needed more foreigners. Then I went to the local church. When you go abroad, you must go out and play, especially in Australia. The weather there is really good, and the seaside is very beautiful. If you can travel to other cities with friends during the holiday, it will be a good memory. Besides studying hard every day, going out to play and relax is very important. When you go abroad, you should really cherish your life abroad, their human feelings and scenery. Probably there is no chance to go back to live there, or to travel there. I think my biggest gain is that I met many friends in Australia and experienced the local life and culture. It made me reflect a lot and learn a lot. If you want to save money, you must learn how to cook, buy vegetables, and compare prices and so on. (276字)
