2019大三出國輔導通報系統 - 留學心得報告[編輯]

(一)基本資料

Indiana university of Pennsylvania. city: Indiana,PA Date:2019/08/19--2020/05/10 course: international business and hospitality. As the student in tourism department, I take a lot of course from hospitality department in the last semester, in my campus, all the department have a lot of resource for you, and to be honest, compare to lanyang campus, they have many presentation, assignment and discussion we have to do for every single week, however, I think it is not too difficult for the student in lanyang campus, since you guys have already know how to deal with the course and homework in all English for almost two years (104字)

For me, my favorite course in IUP definitely is the Club Operation, as I mention above, my major is intentional tourism management, so I was really excited to take the course in USA, since I wanna to know what is the different between Taiwan and USA the for running the business and strategy plan in the tourist industry, if you want to come to IUP and want to take the course in the hospitality department, Club Operation teach by Dr.Wang he is a Chinese people but he can't spoke mandarin, he is nice person, and always be friendly to international student, and it’s not very difficult to pass his lecture, the thing you have to do is buy the textbook, do his weekly assignment, remember to follow his course access progress, that you will find out that it will be easy to take this stuff, by the way, on this class, it’s also a great opportunity to speak and practice your English oral skill, since every class in the end, Dr. Wang always like to do some group participation for extra credit, but don’t be afraid, just say something what you want, for myself, I always don’t like to waste any chance to spoke in the classroom, because… you are the student who got the chance to study abroad, well…just do it, and keep it up. The second course i take was the special event, which is really difficult for student who's first language is not English, because this is the course for senior student, and it give a lot of pressure to me since that there was too many assignment, discussion and presentation for every single week sometime even every single day, so for here it is up to you. sometimes, face the challenge, be stronger in the future. (三)生活環境

So, for Indiana, it’s country side just like Yilan county, but I think Yilan could be more better than there, since at least you can still have several choose when you don’t know what do you want to eat for dinner, but in here, sorry… from Monday to Friday, the cafeteria is the place only for available after class, because as for international student, when you pay for the tuition, you will have already pay for the dinning, so it’s kind of waste if you don’t go to dinning hall, and the food in there? Let me tell you, it’s sucks, for Asian student, it is very difficult to fit in the food in there, since it was really “AMERICA”, however, the best part of the dinning hall is that the Hygienic measures was did really good. When in the weekend, we usually go to chinese restaurant to have some hot pot or Chinese buffet near the campus, trust me, you will be love Chinese food after you stay in USA after two mouths. For transportation, in Indiana, it is not very convenient when you want to go out like if you want to go to shopping or purchase some personal item, there is two ways, the first one is Uber or lfty, it will cost you almost 25 us dollar for back and forth, it’s recommend for u guys, the second is the shuttle bus in the campus(people called it “India go ”), it’s free if u show the student ID to the driver. Also, International student must live in on campus.and will live in Wall walk hall. There are a few type of option that can be chosen.Most of the us are in 4 people room with shared 2 living room in here.(301字)

(四)自我成長

In the begging of the new semester, I usually be afraid of to talk to foreigners, because this is my first time in the U.S college, is kind of new challenge and new environment to me. One month later, I take over the duty for president of Taiwanese student association, then is my time to do something, shortly after, the president of Japanese student association, Korea, and Chinese club are come to talk to me what will be they want do in this semester, and what make me surprise was that all the president are American, but I have already fit in the environment, and I’m also really happy to cooperate with all the people there, we hold the event, make the party, even build the basketball team to sign up for the competition, for this experience, I gradually know about if you willing to talk to people, I believe that they will be happy to respond to you. As for the different culture perspective, I think we should always keep learning from other culture, because other people is also learning from you, so it’s important to remember that respect other is the best way to make new friends. the one more experience is that when you shopping in U.S,tipping is a annoying policy in the U.S, then you will know about that Taiwan is a very happiness country around the world. (五)大三出國建議

Well, if you want to come to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, please think twice, and consider seriously, in here, I would say that the life in here will be really boring if you are not the person who is outgoing or don’t like social, since this place is located in country side, and Life function are not very good in here, but the security system in this campus are doing well, so there’s not much worry about your safe issue. And for your life in here, I’m strongly recommend to the friends with the local student, you will experience a whole new life in here no matter on study or party, by making friends with local student there are some benefit for you, you call practice your English, know what is the good part in here, in the weekend they will invited you to go to home party to meet more and more people in the school, to further know about what is good for you.
