(一)基本資料

I study at Charles University, Prague from September 2022 to June 2023. Charles university was the rich history and culture that surrounds the campus. The university is one of the oldest in Europe, with a history that dates back to the 14th century. Walking around the campus and exploring the nearby streets, I was constantly amazed by the stunning architecture and the vibrant atmosphere of the city. As an exchanged student, the courses we can choose like Erasmus students and the courses also teach in English. I’m a political philosophy and economics student in faculty of social sciences, but I can choose the class I want into entire courses from each faculty. (111字)

Embarking on an exchange journey to Prague comes with lot of challenges; however, within these challenges lies a multitude of opportunities for growth and enrichment. Foremost among these challenges is the language barrier – Czech being the local tongue while English holds prominence in Prague. It's advisable to endeavor to learn some basic Czech before departure, while also relying on translation aids to facilitate everyday communication, especially with the elderly population in Prague. Regarding academics, the academic structure and curriculum in Prague may differ from that of Taiwan. Thus, it's imperative to thoroughly comprehend course content and requirements before the exchange, while also striving to adapt to novel learning methods. Furthermore, Czech teaching techniques and learning styles may diverge from those in Taiwan, necessitating adjustment to find the most suitable approach. Upon arrival in Czechia, one might initially grapple with feelings of frustration due to unfamiliarity with local culture and customs. Yet, this initial sense of frustration is a normal response to adapting to a new environment, and with time, these emotions usually abate. Such cultural clashes present a remarkable opportunity to broaden one's perspective, enabling a deeper understanding of diverse lifestyles and values, fostering an open-minded outlook. This has proven to be the most challenging yet gratifying aspect of my journey. Through surmounting these hurdles, it's not only about adapting to local culture, but also cultivating adaptability and resilience. This growth process has not only empowered me to overcome challenges but has also bolstered my self-assurance and heightened my respect for multiculturalism. (252字)

Make sure you have all the necessary documents, visas, and insurance sorted out. Take time to familiarize yourself with the local culture and way of life, as this will help you adapt to the new environment more quickly. Secondly, prioritize language learning. While English is commonly used on campus, learning some basic Czech vocabulary can enhance your communication skills and deepen interactions with locals. Thirdly, select your courses wisely. Ensure that the courses you choose align with your academic interests, and also understand the course requirements and difficulty level to ensure you can successfully complete them. Moreover, adapting to the local learning style and teaching methods is crucial. Lastly, maintain an open mindset. Cultural differences might pose challenges, but they also offer enriching learning opportunities. Connect with local and international students, participate in activities, and make your exchange experience more diverse. In conclusion, this is a rare opportunity; make the most of it. Apart from tourism, broaden your horizons and enrich yourself with this experience.(195字)
