As far as I am concerned, studying in Poland is relatively relaxed compared with other schools in European countries. While the number of class hours per semester is less than in Taiwan, there are ample holiday breaks throughout the academic year. However, I may have been fortunate in choosing courses that were not overly challenging, which is why I have this feeling. Most of the courses I took here had final exams as the main evaluation of remarks, with some requiring report paper submissions. Nevertheless, the course that I found to be most special and remarkable was titled “Football in Europe: Political and Social Aspects”. I am not much of a football fan and only pay attention during the World Cup, which takes place once every four years. The professor of this course is a super football fan and even works in the football association in Poland. Many classmates are also very passionate about football. By contrast, for people who don't know anything about football and its history like me, this course was a bit challenging, but still, it’s quite pleasant to take this course. During the class, the professor presented a historical overview of the emergence of football as a sport, the foundation of football clubs, and some of the most celebrated football players to have made contributions to football games. Additionally, the professor discussed the ways in which politics and other societal factors have influenced the development of football throughout history. It is worth mentioning that football is one of the most popular sports in Europe. Accordingly, the professor organized an outing to a stadium located in Warsaw during the semester, which allowed us to experience the unique atmosphere of "football in Europe". I appreciate this opportunity and would strongly recommend that future students at the University of Warsaw consider enrolling in this course. (307字)

The majority of my classes took place within the main campus of the University of Warsaw. The main campus is not expansive and the entrance may not appear grand, yet it holds an ambiance rich in historical significance. Certainly, numerous other campuses are dispersed throughout various corners of Warsaw, but when compared with universities in other capital cities, the architecture of the University of Warsaw may not be considered extravagant. However, the campus boasts stunning landscaping, and walking within its grounds evokes a distinct feeling of tranquility. The Presidential Palace is located near the university, which is both an advantage and a drawback. The main downside is that whenever there are important visitors or events, there tends to be a significant number of police cars with blaring sirens passing by. In these acoustically unsound old buildings, classroom activities are often disrupted by noise disturbances. Winter in Warsaw is extremely dry, and a humidifier is definitely one of the essential items to have. In terms of temperature, I find it to be colder compared to other countries, and it does snow. However, due to climate change, the amount of snowfall has decreased in recent years. Spring and autumn are relatively mild and comfortable. As for clothing, I believe it depends on each individual's tolerance to the cold. Nevertheless, as long as you have a waterproof and warm jacket, you will be able to endure the winter season without much difficulty. Concerning matters of daily sustenance, living expenses are almost the same as in Taipei. If you reduce eating out and cook more yourself at home, it can even be cheaper than in Taiwan. Supermarkets and pharmacies can be found everywhere, and most of the things you need can be easily gotten from those places, undoubtedly making life very convenient. Transportation, on the other hand, is considered extremely student-friendly. For people who have student ID cards, public transportation such as buses, trams, and the metro are all half-price, whether it's for single journeys or monthly passes. The Polish national railways also offer discounts to students, which are very affordable.(347字)

During my academic journey, I encountered only a few challenges within the classroom, with the exception of one particular professor who was older and possessed a heavy accent. I truly had trouble understanding what he was saying, but after reading relevant course materials, everything became clear. In terms of daily life, I faced some frustrations when I first arrived in Poland because it was my first time living in a country where the local language was completely unfamiliar to me. The English proficiency of store clerks in supermarkets, mobile communication shops, and other places was not very good. Some of them didn't speak English at all or were unwilling to do so, which created a significant communication barrier. Initially, when I went to the supermarket and bought daily necessities, I had to spend a lot of time using Google Translate to confirm the items I needed, which is quite annoying. Furthermore, it was quite shocking to me that in most European countries, people directly consume tap water. Although everyone does it, I personally find tap water to have a taste that I don't like. Even if I boil the water, it remains the same. So, I usually still buy bottled mineral water to drink. Despite these challenges, my experiences within the classroom and in daily life have been invaluable. They have provided me with a deeper understanding of cultural differences and fostered resilience in adapting to new environments.(238字)

I believe that studying in Poland provides an opportunity to learn the Polish language. If you find it too challenging, you can at least memorize some simple greetings and phrases for ordering food and buying things in the supermarket. Having a basic understanding of the local language will definitely be helpful in your daily life. Additionally, I suggest to participating in school activities to meet more Europeans or even students from other more countries. Making friends and getting to know different cultures from around the world will enrich your experience during your study year in Poland. Traveling is also an indispensable part of this whole academic year. Europe boasts a rich history and cultural heritage. I suggest making good use of your time in Europe by planning reasonable travel and exploration. Try to explore local cities, attractions, and neighboring countries. This will provide you with unforgettable experiences during your junior year of study abroad. I strongly recommend starting with exploring various major cities in Poland to gain a deeper understanding of the country where you will be living for a whole academic year. Later, during longer breaks, you can visit other European countries. Among the many cities I have traveled to, I highly recommend Rome and the Vatican City. It is truly moving to witness ancient buildings, artworks, and artifacts that have appeared in movies or history textbooks, which hold significant historical meaning. Additionally, Croatia, as a country on the Balkan Peninsula, is particularly special. Every place there has its own story, and experiencing Croatia's magnificent natural beauty firsthand is truly awe-inspiring. (262字)
