(一)基本資料

During my senior year, I spent a year as an exchange student at Winona State University in the United States. Winona State University is located in Winona, Minnesota.The purpose and significance of studying abroad vary from person to person. Through studying abroad, I can get in touch with different cultures and lifestyles, learn about the history, society, economy, science and technology of different countries, and broaden my horizons.(69字)

During my year at Winona State University, I tried to attend many very unique courses, such as skiing courses and sports psychology, which are not available in Taiwan. I also gained a lot from them. The course that impressed me the most was Web Technology! The teacher's lively and humorous lectures, the emphasis on the teaching quality of each class, and the design of interesting and challenging course content always stimulated my interest in learning. For me, learning web design is a revolutionary journey, which has opened up many new creative and technical possibilities. Initially, I was attracted by the opportunity to combine the aesthetics and functionality of web design, and this experience has indeed fulfilled this promise. The process of learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is challenging, but it is very worthwhile because it enables me to realize my ideas on the screen. Understanding the principles of responsive design is particularly valuable to me because it taught me how to create websites that are both beautiful and user-friendly on a variety of devices. In addition, web design has improved my problem-solving skills. Each project brings unique challenges, whether it is figuring out how to make the layout work or debugging the code, which teaches me to solve problems with patience and creativity. The process of learning web design has given me a deep understanding of the breadth and depth of this field. As I learn more, I find that web design is not just about writing code, but also a comprehensive understanding of the intersection of aesthetics, user psychology, and technology. Every time I complete a design and see the design I conceive become a reality, this sense of accomplishment makes me more determined to love this field. Overall, this class not only improved my technical skills, but also strengthened my ability to think critically and creatively. During my time at Winona State University, I had a profound experience of its accommodation environment. Overall, Winona State University's dormitory life provides students with a comfortable and supportive learning and living environment. First of all, the location of the dormitory is very convenient. Many dormitory buildings are located in the center of the campus, which allows me to easily walk to classrooms, libraries and other campus facilities. This convenience greatly reduces the time of daily commuting, allowing me to focus more on my studies and campus activities. In terms of accommodation facilities, the dormitory is clean and well-equipped. Most dormitories are equipped with basic furniture, wireless networks and social spaces, which provide students with good living conditions. The design of the dormitory takes into account the students' privacy needs, while also providing many spaces for common learning and interaction, which promotes social exchanges among students. In addition, the community atmosphere in Winona State University's dormitories is very friendly and supportive. There are dedicated dormitory counselors in the dormitories who not only help solve daily problems, but also organize various social activities and academic support activities, which helps freshmen quickly integrate into campus life, make new friends, and adapt to college life. However, due to the large number of students at Winona State University, the dormitory space may feel a bit crowded, especially during peak hours at the beginning of the school year. Sometimes, public facilities such as laundry rooms or kitchens may be crowded, which requires some patience and adaptability. But in the East Lake department, each room will be equipped with an independent washing machine and a small kitchen, which is particularly convenient for international students. They can cook their favorite food and reduce their dependence on eating out. In general, the accommodation experience at Winona State University is positive and worth recommending. The dormitories here not only provide a good learning and living environment, but also create abundant social and growth opportunities for students. During my year at Winona State University, I had to face difficulties in life and courses, especially when I was in a foreign country. I learned a variety of coping strategies, which were very helpful for me to adapt to the new environment and overcome challenges. First of all, I felt a strong culture shock when I first arrived in a new cultural environment. Different from the customs, language and social norms in my hometown, everything in the new environment made me feel strange and uneasy. In this situation, I learned to keep an open mind and take the initiative to understand and accept different cultural habits. I started to participate in various campus activities and get to know classmates from different backgrounds. Through communication with them, I not only learned a lot about the local culture, but also gradually broke the fear of unfamiliar environments. In terms of courses, language barriers and differences in teaching methods were the main challenges I faced. Initially, I had difficulty understanding the professor's explanations and completing assignments. To overcome these difficulties, I actively participated in class discussions and used the professor's office hours to seek guidance. In addition, I formed study groups with my classmates and gradually improved my understanding and expression skills by helping each other and sharing learning materials. This experience taught me to dare to ask questions and seek help in learning, and to have a persistent spirit. In addition, maintaining physical and mental health is crucial to overcoming difficulties. In the face of stress and anxiety, I began to develop a regular routine and relax my body and mind through exercise and meditation. I found that when I was able to take care of my physical and emotional state, my performance in both academics and life improved significantly. Going abroad in your junior year is an exciting and challenging experience. In order to help you better prepare and adapt to this journey, I would like to share a few suggestions that I hope will be helpful to you. 1. Plan and prepare in advance It is very important to know the country and school you are going to in advance. You can get useful information by reading relevant guide books, attending the school's information sessions, or communicating with seniors who have been there. Understanding the local culture, climate, and living habits can help you adapt to the new environment faster. In addition, make sure you have completed all necessary visa, insurance, and school registration procedures, which are all things that must be handled before going abroad. 2. Improve your language skills Even if you already have a good language level, it is still recommended that you do more language practice before going abroad, especially the local daily expressions. Taking language courses or using language learning apps can help you communicate more confidently and reduce the language barrier after arriving in a new environment. In addition, getting used to the local accent and vocabulary is also very practical. 3. Stay social Actively participating in campus activities and clubs, making friends from different countries and backgrounds, will not only enrich your social circle, but also allow you to have a deeper understanding of the local culture. Actively interacting with local students can help you quickly integrate into the new environment and improve your language skills at the same time. Remember to stay open to different perspectives and habits, which is a great opportunity to enhance cross-cultural understanding.
