(一)基本資料

I chose Dubai for internship at the age of 20 ,stayed there for about 9months ,3 months for study,6 month for internship.I would say this is the most memorable experience in my life. Dubai is a very unique ,international and interesting place to stay. First of all, the teaching style is way different from Taiwan, it’s quite struggle for me when I first joined the course , there are a lot of group discussions so we have to get in touch with other students in class there are not always students from Taiwan, but also from other countries.(97字)

Speaking of my favorite class at EAHM, I would say Food and Beverage Management. This course is very amusing and full of practical experiences. We had the chance to go to the kitchen, where the chef taught us how to cook dishes from various countries. Additionally, the course invited renowned chefs from Dubai’s famous restaurants to share their insights and experiences with us. Although the course required us to wake up very early in the morning to prepare for kitchen sessions and attend three-hour-long classes, I found it worthwhile. At first, I struggled a lot because I had never cooked before in my entire life. However, the chef was always encouraging and taught me patiently. Slowly but surely, I gained confidence and improved my cooking skills. Toward the end of the semester, we had an exciting project: creating a food truck program. This required us to design a menu, prepare the dishes, and sell the food we made to our classmates and teachers. It was both challenging and rewarding because it combined everything we learned throughout the course, from cooking techniques to business management. Overall, Food and Beverage Management was not just a class but an unforgettable journey. It taught me valuable skills, boosted my confidence, and gave me a deeper appreciation for the art of food preparation. (219字)

The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM) is in Dubai, right across from the Burj Al Arab. The campus is modern and offers everything students need, including comfortable dormitories that are close to classes. Around the school, there are many places to eat, shop, and relax, providing students with convenience and entertainment during their free time. Dubai is a vibrant city with a mix of cultures and attractions. The weather is mostly hot and sunny, with cooler winters that are perfect for outdoor activities. Public transportation and taxis are easily available, making it simple for students to travel around the city. Studying at EAHM gives students the chance to learn in a professional environment while enjoying life in one of the world’s most exciting cities. The combination of modern facilities, a safe living environment, and Dubai’s unique atmosphere makes it an ideal place for both education and personal growth(151字)

Overcoming difficulties in life and courses has been a process of growth for me. When I first arrived in Dubai, I experienced culture shock. The language, customs, and lifestyle were very different from what I was used to. At first, I felt uncomfortable because I couldn’t understand the fast English conversations of my classmates and teachers, and I wasn’t familiar with Islamic customs, which made me feel lost. To overcome these challenges, I started talking more with my classmates and asking them about things I didn’t understand. They were very kind and explained local customs to me, such as why observing Ramadan is important and how to order traditional foods. These conversations helped me adapt and also made me new friends. The challenge I faced in my courses was the practical work, especially the cooking classes. I had never cooked before, so it was difficult for me at first. But with the teacher’s patient and encouragement, I enhance confidence and even managed to successfully complete the food selling project at the end of the semester. These experiences taught me to be open-minded and not to be afraid to ask for help. Overcoming these difficulties made me stronger and helped me appreciate different cultures. I learned that whether in life or school, I need to adapt and push through challenges, because every time I overcome an obstacle, it leads to personal growth.(235字)

(五)大三出國建議

To all the juniors planning to study abroad, my advice is: Don’t be afraid to try new things! Once you complete a challenge, it’s yours forever and will be a great part of your life. Every experience, big or small, helps you grow, so take every opportunity and make the most of it. Dubai can be very hot in the summer, so make sure you don’t wear too many layers. Light, breathable clothes are best to stay cool. Also, always use sunscreen because the sun can be very strong, and it’s important to protect your skin. During my internship, I worked at the Burj Al Arab, one of the most famous hotels in the world. It was a great experience. I worked with guests from all over the world, including many Chinese guests, which helped me learn more about how to communicate and provide good service. I learned how to deal with people from different cultures and became more confident in my work. This experience taught me the importance of being friendly, professional, and open to learning new things. It was hard at times, but also very rewarding. I learned a lot about myself and the hospitality industry. Studying abroad is a wonderful chance to grow. Embrace every moment, stay curious, and be ready to face new challenges. It will help you grow in many ways!(230字)

(六)其他

If you ask me, the most important thing I’ve learned during these nine months, I would say it’s how to handle pressure. At the beginning, I had to push myself to speak with my classmates in English because I didn’t have confidence when talking in English. But over time, I realized that it wasn’t a big deal. You just need to speak, and people will understand you. After that, I felt much more comfortable. My internship was also a huge challenge for me because I had never worked part-time or in the hospitality industry before. My first job was as a receptionist at a five-star hotel in Dubai, which was a lot of pressure. On top of that, I had to handle a lot of Chinese guests since there weren’t many Chinese speakers at the hotel. It was difficult at first, but I learned a lot about communication and how to handle pressure in a professional environment. These experiences taught me to be more confident, stay calm in stressful situations, and not be afraid to face new challenges. Handling pressure is a skill that I will carry with me throughout my life.(197字)
