Basic Arabic, teacher is Sahar.Learning basic Arabic has been a surprisingly rewarding experience for me. Initially, I was drawn to the course because of my interest in Middle Eastern culture, history, and traditions. However, as I progressed, I discovered that studying Arabic was not only intellectually stimulating but also deeply satisfying on a personal level. One of the first things I noticed was how unique and beautiful the Arabic script is. Learning to write in such an elegant script felt like creating art. It was challenging at first, but with practice, I began to enjoy the flow and precision required to form each letter. I found it fascinating how the letters change shape depending on their position in a word. Additionally, the course has given me a new perspective on language itself. Arabic is rich in meaning, and every word seems to have a story. I was particularly intrigued by the root system, where words share a base root that connects them to broader concepts. It felt like unlocking a puzzle, which made learning even more enjoyable. The cultural aspect of the class has also been eye-opening. Learning Arabic has introduced me to expressions and phrases that reflect values like hospitality and generosity, which are so central to Arab culture. It’s inspiring to see how language and culture intertwine. Lastly, I appreciate how supportive my classmates and teacher have been. Their encouragement made the learning process less intimidating and more collaborative. Taking this basic Arabic course has ignited a passion for the language that I hope to continue developing. It’s more than just learning to speak or write—it’s about connecting with a rich and diverse world that I’m eager to explore further. (288字)

The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM) is located in Dubai, the economic hub of the Middle East, near the Jumeirah area. The campus is compact but well-equipped, featuring modern teaching buildings, a library, culinary labs, and diverse student accommodation. The dormitories offer single and double rooms, complete with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and kitchen facilities, providing a comfortable and convenient living environment for students. The surrounding area is a blend of upscale residential neighborhoods and commercial hubs, with nearby landmarks including the iconic Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach. The campus vicinity is home to numerous international restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping centers, such as the Mall of the Emirates, catering to students' daily needs and leisure. Dubai has a tropical desert climate, characterized by year-round heat and dryness. Summer temperatures can exceed 40°C, while winters are more comfortable, ranging between 20°C and 25°C. Students should be mindful of sun protection and staying hydrated. As a predominantly Muslim city, the local culture emphasizes modest attire, particularly in public spaces outside the campus. In terms of transportation, Dubai boasts a well-developed public transit system, including metro, buses, and taxis. EAHM is conveniently located near a metro station, making it easy for students to commute and explore the city. Dubai’s high level of internationalization offers ample work opportunities, making it an ideal environment for students pursuing hospitality management studies, despite the relatively high cost of living.(234字)

Living and studying in Dubai involves overcoming challenges and adapting to cultural differences. In terms of daily life, one of the first challenges is language. While Arabic is the primary language, English is widely used. If communication difficulties arise, translation tools, learning with peers, or taking language courses can help improve English proficiency. Additionally, Dubai's high temperatures may initially feel uncomfortable for newcomers. Coping strategies include adjusting to local schedules, avoiding outdoor activities during midday, and staying hydrated to maintain health. In academics, the rigorous standards and pressure of hospitality management studies may present challenges. To address this, students can create study plans, complete assignments on time, and actively communicate with professors and classmates for support. Participating in extracurricular activities and internship programs can also help bridge theory and practice, leading to a better understanding of course material. Cultural differences represent another significant aspect. Customs in Muslim culture, such as fasting during Ramadan and specific etiquette expectations, might differ from students' backgrounds. The key to overcoming this is to maintain an open mind and strive to understand and respect local traditions. For instance, dressing appropriately in public and engaging in cultural activities, such as visiting mosques or learning Arabic, can facilitate quicker integration into the local community. By adapting to the environment, seeking support, and maintaining a passion for learning, students can gradually overcome life and academic challenges while gaining invaluable cross-cultural experiences.(233字)

For juniors preparing to study abroad in their third year, here are some suggestions to help you make the most of this unforgettable journey. First, advance planning is essential. Research your target school’s courses, accommodation options, local living environment, and cultural background to reduce anxiety about moving to an unfamiliar place. Utilize school resources or advice from seniors to arrange housing and transportation early, and familiarize yourself with the local public transportation system. Second, improving language skills is crucial. While English is widely used in many countries, learning some basic phrases of the local language (e.g., Arabic or Spanish) can make communication easier. Joining language exchange programs or practicing daily conversations can help you adapt to the environment more quickly. Third, learn financial management and independent living skills. The cost of living abroad may be higher, so it’s wise to create a budget, track expenses, and learn to prepare simple meals. Additionally, being able to handle emergencies, such as illness or losing important documents, is essential. Prepare necessary emergency contacts and insurance documents in advance. Finally, maintaining an open mind and respecting the local culture is the key to integrating into a new environment. Studying abroad is not only an academic opportunity but also a chance to experience a different culture. Participate in local activities and make international friends to broaden your horizons and improve cross-cultural communication skills. I hope juniors approach this journey with a positive mindset, achieve academic success, and return with valuable growth and unforgettable memories!(252字)
