The University of Warsaw, one of Poland’s most prestigious institutions, offers an enriching and diverse experience for exchange students. The main campus is centrally located, surrounded by historic buildings, vibrant cafes, and a blend of old-world charm with modern amenities. The university provides state-of-the-art libraries and study spaces that cater to students’ academic needs, as well as cultural events and activities to foster global connections. For accommodation, the university offers dormitories, which are affordable and conveniently located. Many exchange students also choose private rentals or shared apartments in nearby districts such as Śródmieście or Praga, which provide more independence. The surrounding environment is bustling yet student-friendly. Warsaw is a dynamic city, boasting a mix of green parks like Łazienki Park and cultural landmarks such as the Royal Castle and Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The local climate varies significantly, with warm summers and cold winters. It’s wise to pack layered clothing and prepare for snowy days during the winter semester. Polish cuisine is hearty and flavorful, with local delicacies like pierogi, żurek, and bigos readily available. Warsaw also offers a wide range of international cuisines to satisfy diverse palates, and there are plenty of affordable student-friendly dining options. As an exchange student in Warsaw, life can be a mix of excitement and challenges. One of the most effective ways to overcome difficulties, whether in life or academics, is to stay adaptable and maintain an open mind. When courses seem overwhelming, I’ve found that establishing a clear study routine and seeking help from professors or classmates is invaluable. Polish professors are approachable and willing to assist if you show genuine effort. Joining study groups with local and international students is another great way to navigate coursework while building friendships. Cultural shock is inevitable but can be a rewarding learning experience. In Warsaw, adjusting to the pace of life, language barriers, and different social norms took time. Poles may seem reserved initially, but they are warm and kind once you get to know them. A tip I learned is to embrace curiosity—asking questions about Polish culture and traditions helps build connections. Participating in cultural events, such as traditional pierogi workshops or exploring Warsaw’s historic landmarks, eased my transition and gave me a sense of belonging. Homesickness and loneliness can also arise, especially during the colder months. Staying active, whether by joining student clubs or taking walks in Łazienki Park, helped me stay positive. Keeping in touch with family and friends back home through regular calls also provided comfort. Learning some basic Polish phrases was a game-changer. It not only made daily life smoother but also showed respect for the local culture. Ultimately, the challenges of being an exchange student in Warsaw shaped me into a more resilient and open-minded person. Embracing the discomfort and pushing through it led to some of the most enriching experiences of my life.(281字)

Studying abroad in Warsaw during your junior year is an incredible opportunity, but preparation is key to making the most of it. Here are some tips based on my experience: 1. Prepare for the Weather: Warsaw’s winters are cold, especially if you’re coming from a warmer climate like Taiwan. Pack warm clothing, including a good coat, thermal layers, and sturdy boots. Hand warmers from Taiwan are a lifesaver during those freezing days, especially if you have a long commute. 2. Shop Smart: Living costs in Warsaw are manageable if you know where to shop. Biedronka is one of the cheapest grocery stores and offers a variety of affordable essentials. For fresh produce, Hala Mirowska Market is a great option. 3. Embrace Public Transport: Warsaw’s public transportation system is excellent. Get a student pass for unlimited travel on buses, trams, and the metro. It’s affordable and makes exploring the city easy. 4. Balance Academics and Exploration: While academics are important, don’t forget to enjoy Warsaw’s rich history and culture. Visit Old Town, the Royal Castle, and museums like POLIN. Take walks in Łazienki Park or along the Vistula River to unwind. 5. Learn Basic Polish: While many people speak English, knowing simple phrases like “Dzień dobry” (Good morning) or “Dziękuję” (Thank you) goes a long way in connecting with locals. 6. Be Open to New Experiences: Polish culture may feel different at first, but embracing it will make your journey unforgettable. Try local foods like pierogi and żurek, and participate in university events to meet people from all over the world.(261字)

Overall I experienced a lot of new things during my study abroad in Poland. but the most memorable moment are being able to know and meet wonderful people. The lesson I learnt from my study abroad program is to be nice to everyone. From knowing my Japanese-roomate, I got introduced to a lot of Japanese people in Warsaw and got invited to some home-parties where I got to extend my connections and got a lot of travel buddies. Even there's one time I met a Polish person in a party, and he went to visit me in Indonesia after I finished my exchange program. So I feel like I met a lot of interesting people and wonderful connection there. (119字)
